Condoleezza Rice Becomes CBS News Contributor

Bob Schieffer announced on Sunday that Condoleezza Rice is joining CBS News as a contributor.

"Everybody knows Condoleezza Rice was President Bush’s Secretary of State but I'm highly pleased to announce she has a new job. As of today, she’s joining CBS News as a contributor," Schieffer said at the top of the roundtable discussion on "Face the Nation." Rice was a member of the show's panel.

She's realizing if she ever wants to continue a political career (POTUS?) she has to get familiar in people's living rooms. Else she'll just be a faded footnote to "W"- his arch, piano-playin' little Uncle Thomasina.

I always thought Arnold dumped Bush II after the President’s popularity waned but Bush had dumped Arnold before A was even elected Governor. The Bush camp wanted to leave Gray Davis in office and then have Condi run against him in the regular 2006 election, but Arnold did an end run with the recall.

Condi in 2006 -- brrrrr...
