PING! PING! PING!
Eric Garcetti, LA mayor hipster candidate 2013, poised to become mayor of Los Angeles..
|by Anonymous||reply 51||03/06/2013|
Yes, he is OP. Plus, he a really good guy. Happy to vote for him.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||01/18/2013|
I follow him on Facebook. He has good updates for the LA area so I feel like I know what's going on more than before. Plus he's very sexy.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||01/18/2013|
Wow, he's gorgeous.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||01/18/2013|
The mayoral debates happened last month and he easily was the clear favorte. Interestingly, there is a gay Republican radio host running too named...lol...Kevin James!

This thread is useless without pictures.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||01/18/2013|
Another famous Garcetti in L.A. His dad gained global fame during the OJ Trial days.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||01/18/2013|
r3 His father is former LA District Attorney Gil Garcetti, who nearly lost his job following the Rodney King beating trial and the OJ trial.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||01/18/2013|
He has to be the runaway favorite for Major. The current Mayor ended up being a bit of a disapointment in his second term.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||01/18/2013|
Just wait and see what skeletons come out of the closet once the race gets going....I know for a fact that good ole Eric has a drunk driving hit and run event in his past that was quickly covered up by daddy, including a generous payoff to the victim.....I know, because I am friends with the woman he hit.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||01/18/2013|
Yikes, R10 is giving me some food for thought. Hate politicians who think they can cover shit like that up.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||01/18/2013|
R10 here again.....and he hit her as a pedestrian, she wasnt driving another car...was late and night and he was swerving all over the street here in LA
|by Anonymous||reply 12||01/18/2013|
r10, your post reminded me of an LA Weekly article not too long ago about Hit and Runs in L.A. It gives an account of someone at City Hall getting away with one. Also, how their traffic dept. investigation is really about just covering up Govt. hit and run accidents. It was maddening.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||01/18/2013|
R10 here: if I remember all the details correctly, he hit her as she was crossing the street (running a stop sign in the process)....knocked her to the curb....he stopped and got out, saw she was alive and conscious, hopped back in his car and sped off...she smartly got the plate number and called the police....not long after, she was visited by the police and then was contacted by someone from Daddy Garcetti's office about a financial settlement to cover her medical bills (she was pretty bruised and banged up, but nothing broken) and other expenses as long as she didnt pursue charges or contact the press....she was shocked and only took the $$$ because she actually felt threatened by them and was afraid of retaliation
|by Anonymous||reply 14||01/18/2013|
r14 will be getting a "visit" soon.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||01/18/2013|
I think DL is going to be responsible for derailing his campaign having brought light to his hit and run incident.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||01/18/2013|
Photos, and not shitty ones, NOW!
|by Anonymous||reply 18||01/18/2013|
I certainly hope so.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||01/18/2013|
If Lindsay Lohan can have multiple hit-and-runs and still get second, third, fourth chances, than Eric Garcetti should be given a chance, too. He's a Rhodes scholar, an environmentalist, and and all-around nice guy. He had served as City Council President for many years, so he knows the city like the back of his hand.

I knew Eric Garcetti as a kid/teen (though I wouldn't pretend to say I knew him well). I went to high school with his older sister, and would drive her home from our softball practices. I was not at all surprised that he grew up to be so successful in local politics. He was utterly charming, even at 12-13.
But I'm backing Wendy Gruel in the mayoral campaign.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||01/18/2013|
Apparently he's Jewish, Mexican and Italian. Interesting mix.
He appeared as the mayor of LA in several episodes of "The Closer," the series on which his father served as a consultant.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||01/18/2013|
In what universe is this handsome, well-groomed, hunk of a man "Hipster"?
We're trying to be more positive about SoCal and this guy helps.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||01/18/2013|
The elders here don't seem know what a hipster is. This guy is no hipster. He's white bread.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||01/18/2013|
[quote]His father, Gil Garcetti, who presided over the failed trial of O.J. Simpson for the killing of his wife and her alleged lover
|by Anonymous||reply 26||01/18/2013|
the hit and run story smells fake to me
|by Anonymous||reply 28||01/19/2013|
One would think the hit and run story would've come out during his initial campaign for City Council in 2001 and his successive bids for re-election in subsequent years. LA public figures are frequently raked through the coals for their transgressions, but nobody's ever come forward with anything negative on Garcetti.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||01/19/2013|
If THAT is what qualifies for hot in any world, there should be no reason why anyone can't get laid.
He's Michael Phelps ugly.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||01/19/2013|
More like that girl from Blossom ugly.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||01/19/2013|
R20 - Um, Lindsay Lohan isn't running for public office? Hit and run is a big deal.
|by Anonymous||reply 32||01/19/2013|
It's LA, so it dose not matter what he did. As long as you look good in this town, you win.
Mark May Words.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||01/19/2013|
If the hit and run story is true, the snot-nosed brat deserves to go down.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||01/20/2013|
I guess this story doesn't have legs...
|by Anonymous||reply 35||01/21/2013|
Love child of Ty Burrell and Gavin Newsom.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||01/21/2013|
Looks like it's going to be hipster criminal versus a woman in may.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||03/06/2013|
With his boyfriend.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||03/06/2013|
He's good looking but the boyfriend will cost him the election. Looks too gay. He could do a lot better.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||03/06/2013|
Is he really gay?
|by Anonymous||reply 40||03/06/2013|
R38, that's Aaron Sorkin
|by Anonymous||reply 41||03/06/2013|
Aaron is tow up from da flo up
|by Anonymous||reply 42||03/06/2013|
Eric Garcetti's halitosis could melt the hairs off of Steve Carrell's chest.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||03/06/2013|
Garcetti received 33% of the vote to Wendy Gruehl's 29% so those two will be in the runoff.
I don't know if Garcetti is gay, but last night at his hq he paraded a blonde woman around who most would assume might be his wife/gf.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||03/06/2013|
What a depressing choice of mayors.
|by Anonymous||reply 45||03/06/2013|
R44, Garcetti is married to community activist, Amy Wakeland. The interesting thing is, back when they weren't married but co-habitating, Garcetti would refer to her as his 'partner' -- not 'girlfriend' or 'fiancée,' but partner, which I found odd.
Anyway, I stumbled upon this story about a stalker who had entered their home *twice*. This is L.A., lock your doors!
|by Anonymous||reply 46||03/06/2013|
Oh thanks R44, I really know nothing about these candidates. They all seem like your typical do nothing politicians.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||03/06/2013|
R48 rubs his mother's breasts with Jergen's after he's sedated her.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||03/06/2013|
LA has cascaded into a teeming hole that might be run by a drunk Jew!
Wake up Tel Aviv! Wake up!
|by Anonymous||reply 50||03/06/2013|
Well, r48 is partially correct. No one is interested in this race. The projected turnout is pretty low. Angelenos just don't care who becomes Mayor.
LA is in major financial trouble and I think someone like Garcetti is too loose with taxpayers money. Someone needs to trim the fat and be more business-friendly. Progressive on social issues, but much more fiscally conservative. That is what LA needs in its new Mayor or it will become the next Detroit.
