No she's not

No, not really.

Heheheheh - she IS funny; and I can relate to so much of what she's saying.

She is pleasantly funny. Not shockingly crude like Lisa Lampinelli. I like Suzanne. Thanks, OP.

I haven't seen her on TV since she was on GSN's I've Got a Secret in 2006.

Saw her live years ago one summer in Provincetown -- I've rarely laughed so hard in my life. Don't know why she isn't better known -- even in the lgbt community, Kate Clinton has better name recognition and she's no where near as Westenhoefer.

I've been a fan for years. Have never seen her live but I have all her CDs and watched all her specials. She's damn funny and should be better known.

Saw her live at a sparsely attended show in a smallish city. She killed, and at least a quarter of her material pertained to the smallish city and environs, obviously written just for that show. Also, none of it was rehash from a previous tv special (as far as I could tell). Agree that she is so much better than her current career would indicate. Not sure why her career hasn't lived up to her talent.

She used to do a joke (maybe she still does) about Hollywood not being interested in her: "We already have a blonde, lesbian comedian." It's pretty spot-on. They could barely figure out what to do with Ellen so I'm not shocked Suzanne hasn't broken out.

I love Suzanne Westenhoefer, and I'm a guy. I also wish she'd be more well-known than she is - she's been around for many years. Her material is consistently hilarious and like the above poster said, she doesn't recycle her jokes endlessly like a lot of other stand-ups do. I once saw her do a bit on the differences between lesbian cruises and gay male cruises and it was so spot-on and hilarious.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||01/09/2013|
How many lesbian cruises have you been on r11?
|by Anonymous||reply 12||01/09/2013|
She's a terrific interview too.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||01/09/2013|
If she wants her big break she needs some cancer
|by Anonymous||reply 14||01/09/2013|
r12 you don't have to go on a lesbian cruise to know what goes on. It was one of the funniest bits of stand-up I've ever heard.

Suzanne was an open lesbian comic performing for straight audiences years before Ellen.

funny clip, OP!

I WILL SUE YOU AND THIS SITE IF THIS THREAD IS NOT REMOVED!!!

Is her g/f Doria Biddle from the Frank Show on Out Q on Sirus?
|by Anonymous||reply 19||01/09/2013|
Why do lesbian comics only focus on interpersonal relationships as a source for their comedy?
|by Anonymous||reply 20||01/09/2013|
R2O i focus on my bad karma and it's attendant adversity. I willl sue you so bad.

I saw her live, and I laughed so hard I nearly pissed myself. Greatest $25 I ever spent on entertainment.

I just googled Suzanne because of this thread and found her mugshot! She got a DUI in CA back in '09.

WHET Sabrina Matthews? Her website hasn't been updated in a few years.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||01/10/2013|
She says she was the first lesbian comic to really have straight audiences.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||01/10/2013|
I'm not sure I get this.
