Thomas Gibson Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI

The 50-year-old actor, known for his roles on "Criminal Minds" and "Dharma & Greg," was driving in downtown L.A. at around 1:00 a.m. on Jan. 6 when he attempted to continue through a part of town that had been sectioned off for a half marathon.

Well deserved. I've often read that he's an ass.

by Anonymousreply 101/06/2013

He was so good looking for like one year then it was all downhill

by Anonymousreply 201/06/2013

Beautiful in Tales of the City. His pursuit of plain jane Laura Linney was never convincing.

by Anonymousreply 301/06/2013

We live in a culture where people think it is fine to drink & drive, so I'm not surprised we see so many celebrities arrested for it.

by Anonymousreply 401/06/2013

He was arrested for 'suspicion' he may not have been drinking.

by Anonymousreply 501/06/2013

I never trusted him.

by Anonymousreply 601/06/2013
We live in a culture where people think it is fine to drink & drive

Are you kidding me. It's one of the biggest legal taboo out there. Nobody thinks "it's fine".

by Anonymousreply 801/06/2013

R7, in California one MUST submit to breathalyzer, blood, or urine test. So he had to have taken one of them.

by Anonymousreply 901/06/2013

...and if then arrested on 'suspicion' he passed the test.

by Anonymousreply 1001/06/2013
...and if then arrested on 'suspicion' he passed the test.

Nope. Suspicion is the word always used until he is tried and convicted.

by Anonymousreply 1101/06/2013

Mere child's play.

by Anonymousreply 1301/06/2013

R6, I made the mistake of doing that.

by Anonymousreply 1401/06/2013
Are you kidding me. It's one of the biggest legal taboo out there. Nobody thinks "it's fine".

Boy do you live in a fantasy world.

by Anonymousreply 1501/06/2013

So what's the story with this guy and his wife/family? Halfway through his career in L.A. they decide to move to San Antonio where he commutes on weekends while filming. What could S.A. possibly have to recommend itself? A good place to raise kids? How great can if be if your dad is missing 80% of the time?

by Anonymousreply 1601/06/2013

Mass Transit Helps

by Anonymousreply 1701/06/2013

One of Marland's Boys.

by Anonymousreply 1801/06/2013

He was attempting to drive through a part of downtown that had been sectioned off for a half marathon in which [bold]he was issued a warning to stop but proceeded[/bold]. Upon stopping him the police detected a strong odor of alcohol and [bold]offered Gibson the opportunity to take a breathalyzer test at the scene but he refused[/bold]. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and taken into custody. His bail was set at $15,000.00.

by Anonymousreply 1901/06/2013

Bummer

by Anonymousreply 2001/06/2013

Not nearly as much of a bummer as watching an episode of "Dharma & Greg."

by Anonymousreply 2101/06/2013

His wife is from San Antonio. He is such a workaholic that he was rarely home even when they lived in Los Angeles, so she moved back to her hometown to be close to her parents.

A friend worked as a production assistant on a movie he did, and says he was the biggest horse's ass and treated people very badly. While the cast of Criminal Minds hated Mandy Patinkin and were glad to see him leave (it was rumored that he and Gibson refused to shoot their scenes together toward the end), I understand Gibson makes the set a very tense place much of the time, and a number of the actors have bonded with one another but none with him.

by Anonymousreply 2201/06/2013

Be nice. He still has PTSD from working with that smug Scio hack. At least show him the tolerance you'd give a battle survivor.

by Anonymousreply 2301/06/2013

When one fails the test they say arrested on charge of...not suspicion of.

by Anonymousreply 2401/06/2013
As of 1/1/13, the urine test is no longer an option.

How come?

by Anonymousreply 2501/06/2013

R25, piss queens kept breaking in and stealing the evidence.

by Anonymousreply 2601/06/2013

R25 To close a legal loophole. See link.

by Anonymousreply 2701/06/2013

Living in the closet makes you do lots of weird, sad things.

He never got over being dumped by Tom Cruise.

by Anonymousreply 2801/07/2013

I wonder if he had a passenger in the car. Which site would publish the arrest report?

by Anonymousreply 2901/07/2013

He was beautiful in the 90's, but he just really hit the wall in the past few years. They say you age quickly if you're abusing alcohol... Did he become an alcoholic within just the past few years?

by Anonymousreply 3001/07/2013
Did he become an alcoholic within just the past few years?

Too many flights back and forth to San Antonio with Rand Paul's son.

by Anonymousreply 3101/07/2013

W&W for r31.

by Anonymousreply 3201/07/2013

R8 - DRUNKS think it's fine.

by Anonymousreply 3301/07/2013

closet case and one of my exes

by Anonymousreply 3401/07/2013

In the earlier seasons of CM, when he is off work and "enjoying" his family, his forced smile and "happiness" looks like a reaction to a punishing stick up his bum.

by Anonymousreply 3501/07/2013

You gaylings are so fucked up, just because he's 50, you hate him. He's still hot.

by Anonymousreply 3601/07/2013

No one hates him - well, at least I don't. He just looks rough, R36.

Did that comment hit a little too close to home? Get over it.

by Anonymousreply 3701/07/2013

has he ever smiled convincingly?

by Anonymousreply 3801/07/2013

I loved TB when he played Mrs Dharma on that sitcom. Since then he has really taken a hit on his once good looks.

I hope he's physically healthy and mental happy. He pleased me in that sitcom, so many years ago.

by Anonymousreply 3901/07/2013

He plays a highly believable Aaron Hotchner, who's 50, probably not as devoted to his career as he purports, and therefore has a seeming permastick up his ass. And he's quite good-looking.

He was not my favorite Sam Fowler, however (that would have been Danny Markel).

by Anonymousreply 4001/07/2013

His looks seemed to decline quite drastically from one season to the next on Criminal Minds. Maybe from the third to the fourth? Even posters at IMDb remarked about the change in appearance and asked if he was ill. Someone said he was training for a marathon (or something of the sort) and had lost a lot of weight. I didn't notice a weight loss, but his face looked extremely haggard and even a little caved in on one side. Maybe he's abused alcohol long term and it finally caught up with his looks.

by Anonymousreply 4101/07/2013

You see "haggard," I see method acting.

by Anonymousreply 4201/07/2013

He wills his face to cave in and wrinkle?

by Anonymousreply 4301/07/2013

I was thinking drinking and boylimia, actually.

by Anonymousreply 4401/07/2013

I've always thought he was exactly like the character he played in Tales of the City.

by Anonymousreply 4501/07/2013

Right down to the closetedness, R45?

by Anonymousreply 4601/07/2013

His only believable "happy human" scenes are with the boy who plays his son, "Jack."

He was FANTASTIC, however, in the episode where his ex-wife and son are snatched up and done wrong by the Reaper. I thought it was Emmy-worthy.

by Anonymousreply 4701/07/2013

Yes, R46. Remember his relationship with Tom Cruise....

by Anonymousreply 4801/08/2013

He'll get off -- the sheriff's wife is friends with Tom C

by Anonymousreply 4901/08/2013

He needs his eyes done.

by Anonymousreply 5001/08/2013

They can't make you take any test. They can just punish you for refusing.

If you know you are over the limit refusing to take the test is a smart move. You may get your license suspended for a time - maybe 6 months depends on jurisdiction - but if it gives you a shot at beating the charge then suspension is preferable to a DUI on your record for life.

In DC they had to throw out thousands of DUI cases because the police did not follow guidelines for administering tests and using the machines. Police are lazy and they constantly take shortcuts which lead to false and inaccurate readings.

Test results should almost always be challenged. Unless they are offering you diversion to avoid a conviction.

by Anonymousreply 5101/08/2013

I think TMZ has video of him being taken down by 5-cops while he is yelling to them that he is not resisting. I can't view the video, but from what I read the cops were overly aggressive.

by Anonymousreply 5201/08/2013

R51 Which is one of the reasons the urine test is no longer an option in California.

by Anonymousreply 5301/08/2013

How odd r52 -- I thought white men got a pass in LA...

by Anonymousreply 5401/08/2013

You've never heard of Brian Muuligan, R54?

by Anonymousreply 5501/08/2013

Brian initially was chauffered to a hotel -- when he went out again, that's when they beat him up for being ungrateful.

The TMZ video won't play for me -- I hope the MSM airs it.

by Anonymousreply 5601/09/2013

If he was a gay, you'd all be crying homophobia and racism and autism or whatever excuse just to get him off.
