Where are Crash, Babel, Melancholia and Beasts of the Southern Wild?

Completely disagree with Myra Breckinridge. It's fucked up and a bit unfocused and has problems with pacing, but they were really going for something different with that movie. And strangely, Raquel Welch is perfect in it. Brilliant misunderstood movie.

Really fun/bad/awful movies are hard to make anymore, because it's so expensive to make a film. Back in the old days, they needed "programmers", B-thru-Z movies for double-feature spots and lots of drive-in filler (excuses for teens to park their cars and get laid).

Now "bad" movies are typically just appallingly talentless, boring wastes of money- and time (though the technical quality is super!). Seems only the dreary, humorless types can get a movie greenlighted (Michael Bay, etc.).

I'm not sure "Mommie Dearest" deserves to be on that list. It's not a subtle or even particularly tasteful movie but I don't think it's badly made in the "Heaven's Gate" or "Plan 9" sense. Faye Dunaway, bless her heart, gave a very realistic portrayal of a batshit out of control rageaholic narcissist.
