NYT report: Lance Armstrong Doping Admission Could Be Coming Soon

The report cited anonymous sources and said Armstrong was considering a confession to help restore his athletic career in triathlons and running events at age 41. Armstrong was been banned for life from cycling and cannot compete in athletic events sanctioned by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency and the World Anti-Doping Agency.

OMG! When is this going to happen??

I doubt it.

If he admits he cheated he will harm himself even more. Right now most people suspect it, but they don't know 100%. If he confirms it, he will turn that doubt into a certainty.

So if he admits it, he can be reinstated, but by denying it, he remains banned?

by Anonymousreply 401/05/2013

Armstrong doesn't want to cycle (his original doping offense). He wants to do triathalons which apprently is governed by the same group who banned him.

by Anonymousreply 501/05/2013

Why does he want to do triathalons? Does he need money? Or is his ego so huge that he requires constant adulation? Both?

If he loves athletic competition for its own sake, can't he just do it informally with friends & colleagues who share the pastime?

I think he should devote himself to promoting cancer prevention & recovery through diet & exercise. Whatever his sins, he has overcome a deadly disease & many people see him as an inspiring symbol of good health. Michael Milken (the junk bond felon) wrote 2 cookbooks based on his survival of prostate cancer, & has become a major donor to cancer research projects. Armstrong's reputation is still strong enough to support that kind of work, & he'd salvage some respect for it (in case that's important to him).

He's a Grade A asshole. The only reason he's floating this is to get into triathlon races that he's been banned from. Complete dick.

by Anonymousreply 701/07/2013

Oh, he'll finally admit his cheating because he wants to get into triathlons....yeah, that makes so much sense. What a tool.

by Anonymousreply 801/07/2013

He is so hawt. If he used something and that's an IF, so what. So do all the baseball players, they make a fortune. Why shouldn't he?

Shall we expect a teary confessional on 60 Minutes followed by a career comeback as an inspirational public speaker? Eesh.
