Regurgitated crap featuring superheroes in sequels or my favorite nostalgia TV shows or board games brought to the big screen!

by Anonymousreply 201/01/2013

August: Osage County

The Monuments Men

Oz: The Great and Powerful

by Anonymousreply 301/01/2013

I'm sort of anticipating "The Great Gatsby," though I fear the worst.

by Anonymousreply 401/01/2013

Wong Kar-Wai's "The Grandmasters" with Tony Leung Chiu-Wai and Zhang Ziyi

by Anonymousreply 501/01/2013

Man of Steel, obviously.

"August: Osage County" -- I can't believe you left that off your list, OP.

Meryl will be shattering in this.

Also looking forward to "Elysium", especially Jodie Foster's role in it.

Naomi Watts as Princess Diana will be fun, but she'll have no chance against Streep.

The trailer for "Stoker" looks like shit. Nicole Kidman ruins any film she's in.

That's all.

by Anonymousreply 801/01/2013

I like all of Baz Lhurmann's movies so The Great Gatsby.

Would love to have seen how he would have directed Le Miz.

by Anonymousreply 901/01/2013

Pacific Rim with Idris Elba AND Charlie Hunamm!!!!

by Anonymousreply 1001/01/2013

Watts as Diana will be meh. Not expecting much from Kidman as Grace Kelly either.

Gangster Squad looks exciting, like a flashy vapid LA Confidential, or The Untouchables.

by Anonymousreply 1101/01/2013

What about 'Star Trek Into Darkness'? I thought everyone was jazzed for this film.

by Anonymousreply 1201/01/2013

I forgot Kidman will be Grace Kelly. How preposterous... Grace Kelly !!!

What is it with this woman that they keep giving her all these roles?

Most overrated actress of this century, that's for sure.

by Anonymousreply 1301/01/2013

[quote]I forgot Kidman will be Grace Kelly. How preposterous... Grace Kelly !!!

As long as Kidman doesn't do that awful Marilyn Monroe accent every time she tries to speak as an American, she'll be alright.

by Anonymousreply 1401/01/2013

Iron Man 3 Place beyond the Pines (because Blue Valentine was a great movie) The Councelor (even though I did not like Prometheus) I have not seen Zero Dark Thirty yet, but will soon.

any other movie with Sam Rockwell, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jessica Chastain, Javier Bardem or Ben Mendelson in them

by Anonymousreply 1501/01/2013

I love the Streep troll's blind hatred of Nicole Kidman. But Stoker looks fascinating.

by Anonymousreply 1601/02/2013

I spoiled myself and read the "Stoker" script online. I'm looking forward to its release.

by Anonymousreply 1701/02/2013

by Anonymousreply 1801/02/2013

STOKER too, yes!

by Anonymousreply 1901/02/2013

Movies with cunts.

Other than 'August: Osage County', the biggest film event of 2013 will be 'Twelve Years a Slave', the total antidote to 'Django Unchained'. Spike Lee is going to be pleased.

I predict nominatinos for: Chiwetel Ejiofor (lead), Ben Cumberbatch and Michael Fassbender (supporting), McQueen (directing), film, screenplay, and everything else too.

Fassbender plays a monster in this film, an update of Schindler's List's Amon Goeth.

Expect him to win.

This will be the chance for the Academy to: a) compensate Fassbender & McQueen for ignoring 'Shame', and 2) to appease the Spike Lee faction out there, who'll cry foul when Django is nominated next week. TYAS will be the realistic portrayal of slavery-as-holocaust, that Lee thinks is absent in both Django and Hollywood at large.

It also stars this year's it girl Quvenshane Wallis and her co-star Dwight Henry. Brad Pitt is in it too (unfortunately), as well as Alfre Woodard, Paul Giamatti, and Sarah Paulson.

Kristin Scott-Thomas could well win supporting for 'Only God Forgives'. Sounds like a great role!

And she is overdue for Oscar recognition.

But she'll have to compete against Margo Martindale in 'August: Osage County'.

by Anonymousreply 2301/03/2013

Why would anyone make Oscar predictions for a film nobody has seen yet?

What the hell is wrong with you?

You know what you sound like?

"...And the Oscar goes to... Nicole Kidman for 'Fur'!"

by Anonymousreply 2401/03/2013

Because it's fun, r24.

My predictions for 2014:

Streep / lead actress, Ejiofor / lead actor, Fassbender / supporting, Scott-Thomas / supporting.

Just because I can!

"Grease III", "Xanadu II", "Can't Stop The Music-Pt. II", and "Desperately Sucking Susan II"

by Anonymousreply 2701/24/2013

Man of Steel

Catching Fire: The Hunger Games II

by Anonymousreply 2801/24/2013

by Anonymousreply 2903/15/2013

Carrie looks promising.

Twelve Years a Slave

Kick-Ass 2

by Anonymousreply 3003/15/2013

"August: Osage County" because I love Margo Martindale!

And, "Therese" because I love Jessica Lange!

That's about it, really.

by Anonymousreply 3103/15/2013

Princess Di Movie!
