He was so hot, and left way too soon. Thread started for various pics and stories (someone stated in another thread that Burt Reynolds "discovered" Robert, and that he posed for various beefcake shots before he became famous). Post away!

Little known fact: he was married to Heather Menses who played Louisa in the film version of the Sound of Music.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||12/30/2012|
I saw him in a restaurant once which ordinarily is no big deal except we were in Lake Wales, Florida.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||12/30/2012|
Yes, he and his wife, Heather MENZIES used to appear on those old couples' game shows together.
And people like R3 giggled and called them Robert Urine and Heather Menses.

He never did much for me, but that apartment he had in Vegas, the one where he parked his car in the living room, that was a fantasy of mine when I was a little kid.

Thank you for starting this thread! I already unbuttoned my jeans.

[quote] he was married to Heather Menses
|by Anonymous||reply 9||12/30/2012|
He had big hips and a big ass for a white guy.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||12/30/2012|
I had it bad for him when I was 10 and Vega$ premiered on TV.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||12/30/2012|
R11, me too! Still do
|by Anonymous||reply 12||12/30/2012|
I loved it when he slurped the spaghetti noodles in the Spencer for Hire opening. It's at about the 1:12 mark in this video
|by Anonymous||reply 13||12/30/2012|
It is pretty well known that he was married to Heather Menzies. Well, at least to anyone who was a fan of his. Or hers.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||12/30/2012|
The object of my teenage fantasies. S.W.A.T. & Vegas.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||12/30/2012|
A while back someone posted about literally bumping into him in Boston, while he was working on Spencer for Hire. They said he was much bigger in person, and very gracious.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||12/30/2012|
He was robust and hairy--just the way I like 'em.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||12/30/2012|
Robert Urich didn't seem to be full of the same bull that so many other Hollywood stars were. He had some fame from Spenser and Vegas but did so many other series that didn't click. Anyone remember Gavilan?
|by Anonymous||reply 18||12/30/2012|
Yeah he had a lot of failed shows. I remember one called "Almost Home" or something like that, that was pretty good.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||12/30/2012|
There was something very charming about him. I loved him in Lazarus Man, which I think was the series he was doing when he found out he had cancer.
I wonder if any of these old series are available online.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||12/30/2012|
Loved him in "Soap"... as a young gayling, he was a total fantasy figure.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||12/30/2012|
He was in a film called "Endangered Species" with JoBeth Williams in the 80s. He showed butt and bush.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||12/30/2012|
Double shot of early 80s TV testosterone.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||12/30/2012|
Wow, can you imagine what being in the middle of that testosterone sandwich would be like, R24?
|by Anonymous||reply 25||12/30/2012|
Heather was also Jessica 6 in the classic tv sci-fi 'Logan's Run'. I believe she and Urich are still married. I ran into them earlier this year. Both looked fantastic. I got the impression that Bob was flirting with me. Not that this means anything. Alot of stars naturally flirt with either sex.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||12/30/2012|
R25 They couldve DP'd me anytime. I loved Battle of the Network Stars
|by Anonymous||reply 27||12/30/2012|
|by Anonymous||reply 28||12/30/2012|
R26 is clearly a troll.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||12/30/2012|
|by Anonymous||reply 30||12/30/2012|
I give up trying to post pics...nothing is working

Really, R26? That's amazing, since Urich has been dead since 2002.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||12/30/2012|
Yes, Urich was a Chicago actor who was cast in a production of The Rainmaker with Burt Reynolds (fresh from his Cosmo centerfold fame)and Lois Nettleton at the Arlington Park Theater. Reynolds convinced him to come out to Los Angeles, and got him an agent.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||12/30/2012|
R26, was Heather wheeling around a coffin, or was it just a vase of his ashes?
|by Anonymous||reply 36||12/30/2012|
R26 You might be dead and saw him in the afterlife!You know that Mr Urich died of cancer don't you? Or is that the crystal meth speaking?
|by Anonymous||reply 37||12/30/2012|
R24 i want to be Barbara Mandell but nude and on all fours in a game of "push me, pull me" with those 2 studs!
|by Anonymous||reply 38||12/30/2012|
R11 thanks for the towel pic. I always imagine guys holes to look like their belly buttons. And he presented one nicely there!
|by Anonymous||reply 39||12/30/2012|
Uhrich always seemed to be missing something in the intensity department. He also was miscast as "Spenser for Hire". The roleneeded someone who was more of an outward sophisticate.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||12/30/2012|
He was very Brawny Man-ish.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||12/31/2012|
Maybe because I just saw Les Miz today but he reminds me very much of Hugh Jackman.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||12/31/2012|
Really? He reminds me more of a Jonathan Frakes type.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||12/31/2012|
Oh, that Robert Urich! IMPOSSIBLE! Just plain CRAZY! Absolutely NO--I mean NO--comic TIMING! Timing is EVERYTHING! Particularly in COMEDY. Everything. Without it, an actor's portrayal reads as false. INAUTHENTIC! Not true! Cubic Zirconium! And he was just completely UNPROFFESSIONAL on the set. A true horror. Oh--I will not discuss HIM further. No. Truly, one of the absolute WORST people I have ever worked with. EVER!!!
I hope he DROPS DEAD.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||12/31/2012|
Nathan Fillion (esp. on CASTLE) oddly reminds me of someone doing a parody of Urich as Spenser.
|by Anonymous||reply 45||01/01/2013|
Not exactly, R45.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||01/01/2013|
I was thinking about him today for some reason. I always really liked him and heard nothing but good things from other people.
I loved VEGAS' music.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||12/28/2013|
My mom grew up in Toronto, OH, same town as him. He was a lifeguard in his teens, and she and all the other little girls were in LOVE with him. I think she faked drowning to be saved by him?
