"In a way he was like the country he lived in; Everything came too easily to him. But at least he knew it."

Just saw "The Way We Were" with Streisand and Redford after many years. It just gets better and better.

I disliked the film when it first came out and maybe I was too young to understand and feel it in 1973. But I feel it now and it feels and looks wonderful.

Streisand is mostly fine, except in the parts where she screams and shouts and her head moves in 4 directions and 3 dimensions all at once yet her hair does not move at all and she stangely never lets her elbow to move off the fireplace mantle throughout these tirades. To me it looks like somebody trying to dance without moving their arms at all.

Could be the editing or directing, Steisand need not shoulder the entire burden.

Do you also feel a little more accepting of this film over the years?
