Isn't her husband some bigshot Mexican diplomat?

by Mr. Richard Feder, Ft. Lee, NJreply 312/30/2012

She does not look Mexican or sound Mexican. I wonder if she can speak Spanish.

What a strange person doing a Mexican cooking show.

by Mr. Richard Feder, Ft. Lee, NJreply 412/30/2012

She's a white jewish mexican, a very rare breed.

by Mr. Richard Feder, Ft. Lee, NJreply 512/30/2012

Well, if looking at galavision, and telemundo gives any indication, all Mexicans, and in fact all Latinos, are white.

R6 That is SO true. Whenever I look at the telenovelas (which, to be fair, are not all Mexican), it seems like anyone with any visible Indian heritage is relegated to servant roles. (Sort of like how blacks were depicted here before the '60s.)

I've seen her cook with Paula.

She is just boring OP, not camp, not comedy.

by Mr. Richard Feder, Ft. Lee, NJreply 912/30/2012

Wow, I don't understand the hate. For the most part, her recipes are quite good. I have made several, and they always turn out well, unlike many other TV cooks. Her comments on Mexican culture are spot on. Yes, she does look Mexican. She doesn't look like a peasant, but she certainly looks Mexican.

She has poor cutting technique. She's going to chop her hand someday.

by Mr. Richard Feder, Ft. Lee, NJreply 1112/30/2012

She's based in the DC area and is a teacher at the Mexican Cultural Center or something like that. I enjoy her show but they took it off the air where I live, along with all other cooking shows and now just air boring BBC shows that are a million years old and you can get on Netflix if you really want to see them. Bleh.

I love her. I live in Tucson and her recipes feel closer to what I eat when I dine out.

Oh wait. She's a woman. Hence DL-HATE
