I'm sure he's been discussed before, but just saw "Les Mis" and his singing was amazing, and he's sexy as hell. Any chance he's family?
What do we know about Aaron Tveit?
|by Anonymous||reply 264||02/02/2016|
|by Anonymous||reply 1||12/29/2012|
He's so fucking hot...
|by Anonymous||reply 3||12/29/2012|
Is he gay?
|by Anonymous||reply 4||12/29/2012|
He's inside me right now. Back off, bitches!
|by Anonymous||reply 5||12/29/2012|
Straight by all accounts. Unconventional looking but very sexy and also incredibly talented. Will have a huge career onstage and hopefully a decent one onscreen,
|by Anonymous||reply 7||12/29/2012|
Good voice but very bland-looking. Lacked a certain fire needed for the role of Enjolras.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||12/29/2012|
Beautiful feets in CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. Unfortunately, they cut out the flip flop scene, but a picture remained outside the Rodgers Theatre during the run of the show.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||12/29/2012|
He's still pissed about not getting a Tony nom for "Catch Me", then having his co-star actually win.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||12/29/2012|
A real Jew
|by Anonymous||reply 11||12/29/2012|
His sister Twinks was on an early Mary Tyler Moore episode.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||12/29/2012|
I too always made the mistake of thinking his name was Jewish, but it turns out Tveit is actually the name of a town in Norway.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||01/07/2013|
R17 and R18, I was just going to say that! I'm Norwegian and Tveit is a very common surname in Norway. I'm pretty sure his family is from here.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||01/07/2013|
Straight,nicest guy in the world,professional...so sad he got sucked into that dog of a show. Should have made him a star. He was amazing in Next To Normal,
|by Anonymous||reply 20||01/07/2013|
I keep hearing conflicting reports about his sexuality. Anyone knows more?
|by Anonymous||reply 21||02/26/2013|
r16 understands the glory that was the Datalounge of yore! Bless you sir. Bless you.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||02/26/2013|
[quote]Beautiful feets in CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. Unfortunately, they cut out the flip flop scene, but a picture remained outside the Rodgers Theatre during the run of the show
Why would the Richard Rogers Theater have a picture of Aaron Tveit's feet outfront in "Catch Me If You Can" when the show ran at The Neil Simon?
|by Anonymous||reply 26||02/27/2013|
Very ambitious, very career conscious, lightly talented and aware of what sex can do to a career if one comes out as gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||02/27/2013|
How is Tveit pronounced?
|by Anonymous||reply 28||02/27/2013|
[quote]Why would the Richard Rogers Theater have a picture of Aaron Tveit's feet outfront in "Catch Me If You Can" when the show ran at The Neil Simon?
Why would the Richard Rodgers Theater spell its name incorrectly?
|by Anonymous||reply 29||02/27/2013|
A gay Catskills friend of mine used to know him and he says he is straight but very comfortable with The Gays. A real mensch. He's from the Catskills area. And his last name is Norwegian so it rhymes with "weight."
|by Anonymous||reply 30||02/27/2013|
All musical theatre actors are gay...I don't care how many women they marry.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||02/27/2013|
|by Anonymous||reply 32||02/27/2013|
I have loved him on stage in Next to Normal and the musical of Saved at Playwrights Horizons where he showed enormous charisma and talent but he was really disappointing in Catch Me if You Can. Not sure why, though it would certainly be easy to blame the lame direction and material. Still, I would have thought Aaron could rise above it. Maybe he was just miscast...he is really too wholesome and adorable to naturally play the scheming bad boy required of the Frank Abagnale.
He was certainly miscast in Les Miz, where he looked too young and innocent to be the student leader Enjolras. Again, the role requires more bad boy than Aaron naturally possesses. And his wig made him look rather dowdy and unprepossessing compared to all the other sexy student revolutionaries. He sang it well, though.
I hope he comes through on his new TV series.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||02/28/2013|
He was stiff and looked like a deer in the headlights during his time on GOSSIP GIRL - I doubt if he'll be any better on his new series.
That said, I can speak from direct experience that he is gay. He used to be my neighbor in Astoria and we were fuck buddies for a while - until he got CATCH ME and moved into Manhattan. Loved oral, preferred to bottom.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||03/01/2013|
"Aaron Tveit, rhymes with straight"
|by Anonymous||reply 35||03/01/2013|
Don't worry about him, he's making butter out of cream.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||03/01/2013|
Really want to see him "cream."
|by Anonymous||reply 38||03/01/2013|
He was totally miscast as Enjolras. He looked more likely to lead the sit-in at the student union to protest the lack of gluten-free burrito wraps.
Anyone who saw Ramin Karimloo's performance at the 25th anniversary Les Miz performance knows what was needed in the part.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||03/01/2013|
Time to bump, since he has started his sold out concert at 54 Below.
Any new gossip? Who's he dating?
|by Anonymous||reply 40||05/06/2013|
Aaron and his deep wrinkles:
|by Anonymous||reply 41||05/06/2013|
when is his tv show starting? i hear he has butt exposure in that,
|by Anonymous||reply 43||05/06/2013|
Fuckable. He looks like a hot version of Dustin Lance Black.
So how old is he? Some people just get the nasolabials very early or are hard faced. Think Madonna.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||05/06/2013|
I wouldn't mind seeing the Aaron his Tveit
|by Anonymous||reply 45||05/06/2013|
Any new gay rumors? Anyone spent time with him?
|by Anonymous||reply 46||05/07/2013|
I know him. Hate to disappoint everyone here, but he is, indeed, straight. He's also a terrifically nice and professional guy.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||05/07/2013|
How come he and Sam Page have never played brothers?
|by Anonymous||reply 48||05/07/2013|
Like someone else mentioned, I keep hearing conflicting rumors about the gay/straight thing.
I've heard gay.
I've heard straight.
The truth is out there.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||05/07/2013|
[quote]Like someone else mentioned, I keep hearing conflicting rumors about the gay/straight thing.
Welcome to Datalounge, newbie.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||05/07/2013|
No, R50, in real life from industry folk I hear conflicting things!
|by Anonymous||reply 51||05/07/2013|
[quote]That said, I can speak from direct experience that he is gay. He used to be my neighbor in Astoria and we were fuck buddies for a while - until he got CATCH ME and moved into Manhattan. Loved oral, preferred to bottom.
From all I have known, he has been living in Astoria and is still in Astoria. I have a friend who's in industry and has been his neighbour in Astoria for years to confirm that. She knows nothing about his sexuality, though. That guy definitely keep things very close to his vest, lol.
Okay, just checked Tveit's show people interview from this January, he answered yes to the question "you are still in Queens" and said he bought an apartment in Queens last year, along with some discussions on the arrangement with his old roommate around that time (May 2012?). So yeah.
Still would love to hear he's gay or bi, if it's true. LOL.
|by Anonymous||reply 52||05/09/2013|
he seems like kind of a type-A, tense kind of guy.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||05/09/2013|
He's in musical theater but he has aspirations beyond the theater into other things like TV and films. So it's entirely possible he's closeted. It's peculiar but a lot of theater queens are in the closet.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||05/09/2013|
R47...what kept you?
|by Anonymous||reply 55||05/09/2013|
Weird...that should read "Poster who lies and says he knows him personally and he's straight"...what happened? Oh datalounge...
|by Anonymous||reply 56||05/09/2013|
I won't be suprised if he's closeted considering his family seems to be this type of very traditional-catholic kind. And his younger brother is studying to become a priest. Hmm.
On a side note, I spotted his brother at least 3 times among the audience in N2N and CMIYC, which I think is oddly funny (how often does the younger Tveit comes to see his brother on stage? I mean, I only saw N2N 3 times - once on tour w/o Tveit, and CMIYC twice). They have EXACTLY THE SAME features but still manage to look quite different, amazing.
|by Anonymous||reply 57||05/09/2013|
My friend swore he saw his dick and balls in Catch Me If You Can. There was a scene where he was only wearing boxers and sitting on a bed. And he was sitting in a way where the people in the front rows can see up his boxers, night after night, show after show.
|by Anonymous||reply 58||05/09/2013|
R57 are you the norwegian catholic troll?
|by Anonymous||reply 59||05/09/2013|
R9 I recall there used to be a lot of fuss on DL about Tveit and flip-flops during Catch Me If You Can times. Funny I just saw the first episode his new TV show called Graceland and they made his flip-flops a big deal in it. I wonder if the scriptwriter hangs out here, or...
|by Anonymous||reply 60||05/09/2013|
Did you watch the episode online somewhere, r60? I don't have a TV but I am super-horny for Aaron's flip-flopped feets!!
|by Anonymous||reply 61||05/09/2013|
R61 I watched it on TWC VOD, but I'm pretty sure you can torrent it. Just check eztv, should be up there. By the way there's a close up scene with him putting on his new flip-flop.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||05/09/2013|
"By the way there's a close up scene with him putting on his new flip-flop."
Oh my God, I'm practically cumming as we speak. Thanks for the alert.
(What is TWC?)
|by Anonymous||reply 63||05/09/2013|
R63 Time Warner Cable. LOL sorry if you will be slightly disappointed for they chose an angle such that what you mostly see is the flip-flop rather than his feet. But, well. The story's set in a beach house in Southern California, so there are plenty of scenes with flip-flops, bare feets, wet suits, surfing, you name it. His co-stars are very hot as well. I'm loving this show.
|by Anonymous||reply 64||05/09/2013|
Someone I know who spent a significant amount of time with him when he was doing Next to Normal and he told me it never ever came up.
|by Anonymous||reply 65||05/09/2013|
R65 what never ever came up?
|by Anonymous||reply 66||05/09/2013|
He'd always always make me cum up.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||05/09/2013|
R61 for you. You may already have seen.
|by Anonymous||reply 68||05/09/2013|
Is anybody going to one of his 54 below concerts? The box office was obviously swamped by all those fan girls (and boys), online system was down, tix sold out in seconds literally. I also tried to get tix from some friends in industry who have some connections. No avail. I am kind of surprised by how popular he is now. Also, Norm Lewis and Bill O'Reilly were in the audience the first night (5/3?), which I think is weird and interesting.
|by Anonymous||reply 69||05/09/2013|
R69 If you are in the city I recommend trying out the cancellation line. The first line there were a few peopleon the cancellationline who got in. I walked past 54 below yesterday afternoon around 6pm and there were a few people waiting already. I don't know how that worked out in the end. If you are really interested, might as well try it.
|by Anonymous||reply 70||05/10/2013|
Caught his concert. He's a bona fide star and knocked it outta the ball park.
Now, he needs to do it naked.
|by Anonymous||reply 71||05/14/2013|
My Comcast OnDemand doesn't have the first episode of Graceland. It just has previews and a Meet Aaron segment. Is Time Warner OnDemand not the same as Comcast??
|by Anonymous||reply 72||05/16/2013|
R72 The first episode on demand thing only runs from Apr 29 to May 12. So it ended a few days ago. The good news is Jun 6 is not too far away, and you can always find it online if you want to ;-)
|by Anonymous||reply 73||05/16/2013|
Comcast and Time Warner are competing cable companies - NOT THE SAME AT ALL.
Aaron's concert was recorded and will be out in due course - music only, though. If they were smart, they'd release it on video.
|by Anonymous||reply 74||05/17/2013|
As far as I know, they did have the pilot preview available on both Comcast and Time Warner VOD, as well as other carriers. But alas, that is past tense now. Agree that they should release it on video. I would buy that! LOL.
|by Anonymous||reply 75||05/17/2013|
If Comcast and Time Warner are competing companies then why do they both have OnDemand? Wouldn't each company call it something different?
|by Anonymous||reply 76||05/18/2013|
R76 Well LOL becasue On Demand is not a registered brand, and VOD (Video On Demand) is actually a common term for this type of service? And well, each company does call it something different -- TWC calls it Time Warner On Demand, Comcasts call it something like Comcast XFinity On Demand, DirectTV calls it DirectTV On Demand, blah, blah.
And it's good to hear that Aaron's concerts are wonderful -- that's what I heard from my God daughter, she had to wait in cancellation ine for 2 hours, but she said she had a blast. I would have loved to catch one of these concerts if I'm not this busy recently -- I haven't seen Mr. Tveit perform live in more than 3 years. I'm very curious if he could be more brilliant than he was 3 years ago, which I thought was mind-blowingly good.
|by Anonymous||reply 77||05/18/2013|
Is he related to Arnold and Twink Tweit of Minneapolis?
|by Anonymous||reply 78||05/18/2013|
R78 That's TWINKS TVEDT, you moron.
|by Anonymous||reply 79||05/18/2013|
If Tveit is so fucking good, why hasn't he become a genuine star, instead of still being a wannabe? Is it the unpronounceable name, bad breaks or what? Please discuss.
|by Anonymous||reply 80||05/19/2013|
R 80, sometimes known as Norbert, what an asshole.
|by Anonymous||reply 81||05/19/2013|
He needs to buy a vowel.
|by Anonymous||reply 82||05/19/2013|
I didn't even think he kept it a secret. Not among his friends.
|by Anonymous||reply 83||05/20/2013|
That he was at least bisexual, I meant.
|by Anonymous||reply 84||05/20/2013|
That I would be happy to suck his cock, well and often.
|by Anonymous||reply 85||05/20/2013|
And rim that pretty pink ass.
|by Anonymous||reply 86||05/21/2013|
But he still flies way under most people's radar. His 15 minutes may have come and gone.
|by Anonymous||reply 87||05/21/2013|
Is the nasolabial troll still around?
|by Anonymous||reply 88||05/21/2013|
Maybe with Graceland publicity/exposure, chances are we will know more about that? I don't think he can keep the secret to the public for long if it is not a secret among his friends (if there is indeed *a secret* to start with).
|by Anonymous||reply 89||05/21/2013|
I just want to know how old he really is. No way he is in this 20's. At least mid 30s.
|by Anonymous||reply 90||05/21/2013|
He's 29 until October 21, R90.
|by Anonymous||reply 91||05/21/2013|
Funny I actually thought he's about 25. He looks younger than Matt Doyle.
|by Anonymous||reply 92||05/22/2013|
How come nobody mentions his ass?
|by Anonymous||reply 93||05/22/2013|
In the tight-fitting slacks he wore for his 54 Below concert, his ass looked luscious. From my seat right at the foot of stage left, I got the pleasure of admiring that bubble booty all night.
Whoever gets to peek between those cheeks is one lucky guy? gal?
|by Anonymous||reply 94||05/23/2013|
His ass looked lovely in the Graceland pilot episode. The costume department did a good job. Tight pants, loose shorts, wetsuits. Nice. I hope they do more close-ups in the future episodes.
|by Anonymous||reply 95||05/25/2013|
Thought I saw him waiting for the N train in Astoria the other day - then he turned and looked at me with that deer-in-the-headlights expression he always seems to have and I knew it was him.
|by Anonymous||reply 96||05/25/2013|
Someone ought to find and post pics that give us a good look at Aaron's ass!
|by Anonymous||reply 97||05/25/2013|
I think this might be what R95 was talking about?
|by Anonymous||reply 98||05/26/2013|
R98 Nice ass indeed! Better than I expected, tbh.
|by Anonymous||reply 99||05/26/2013|
R98 I'm impressed.
|by Anonymous||reply 101||05/27/2013|
Still no new gossip about who his bf/gf is?
|by Anonymous||reply 102||05/28/2013|
Yep, R98, that's what I saw for his full set, from the opposite side. Although, much better than that on-the-sly cheapo cell phone shot.
|by Anonymous||reply 103||05/28/2013|
Apparently, he's hetero. He mentioned a girlfriend on "Watch What Happens Live" last night. He's about 5'10".
|by Anonymous||reply 104||05/30/2013|
Ugh, 5'10" is so short. Tossing him back. You gays can have him.
|by Anonymous||reply 105||05/30/2013|
I'm not one to gossip but Aaron was on "Watch What Happens Live" and he was wearing a pair of Petal Pushers.
|by Anonymous||reply 106||05/30/2013|
I didn't realize that the guy on WWHL was same as the kid in Graceland. He looks so ugly in the show's promo. Who else voted for the pig?
|by Anonymous||reply 107||05/30/2013|
R104 No he's taller than that. I'm 5'10' and when I met him at next to normal stagedoor, he was at least 2 inches taller than me. I had to look up to meet his eyes.
|by Anonymous||reply 108||05/30/2013|
Did anyone else find his girlfriend line a wee too perfunctory?
Also, he says his first boner was caused by Cindy Crawford. Really?
His "girlfriend" remained nameless, but his "friend" Ian did not.
Also, frau at R105, you are dismissed from this conversation.
|by Anonymous||reply 109||05/30/2013|
[quote]Also, he says his first boner was caused by Cindy Crawford. Really?
Really what? You think Cindy Crawford circa 1995 was not attractive? Really?
|by Anonymous||reply 110||05/30/2013|
The answer's too obvious. It's what a gay man would say to pass.
|by Anonymous||reply 111||05/30/2013|
I'm sure Cindy Crawford was causing boners for a whole lot of authentically straight kids in the '90s, r111.
|by Anonymous||reply 112||05/30/2013|
I believe it was a scripted answer, if the rumors about Tveit are true. THAT is my point.
|by Anonymous||reply 113||05/30/2013|
To be fair, Ethan Hawke's answer was kinda gay too. Jessica Lange in King Kong?
I know plenty of 'gray hairs' who post on DL that would pick that one too, if they had to name a woman.
|by Anonymous||reply 114||05/30/2013|
Yes, everyone in the notoriously closeted entertainment industry who SAYS he has a girlfriend MUST be straight. That's the way it works!
|by Anonymous||reply 115||05/30/2013|
R114...and your point is???
Saying you have a girlfriend means you're straight. Always.
|by Anonymous||reply 116||05/30/2013|
r116, that's what I initially thought (damn, the dude pings!) but if so, shame on Andy Cohen.
He should be outed.
|by Anonymous||reply 117||05/30/2013|
Aaron pinged for me too that I thought he was gay. If you look at pictures of him he has a sweet smile. How many heterosexual males have smiles like that? I see gay men smile like that but not heteros.
|by Anonymous||reply 118||05/30/2013|
Cute, and the only guy in Les Miz who could actually SING.
|by Anonymous||reply 119||05/30/2013|
I'm very amused by his answer to "who's the greatest kisser, Blake Lively, James Franco or America Ferrera?" He said James has luscious lips but America won. I distinctively remember last time when he was asked between James or Blake, he chose Blake without hesitation. This time he didn't even mention her. Talking about consistancy, lol.
|by Anonymous||reply 120||05/31/2013|
Scripted answers,we all know that. It is amusing, though.
|by Anonymous||reply 121||05/31/2013|
[quote]Still no new gossip about who his bf/gf is?
I think it's Kathleen Chalfant.
"Petal Pushers" are people who decorate the Rose Parade floats, dear.
|by Anonymous||reply 122||05/31/2013|
I think he didn't choose BL because he said she made him wait four hours to come out of the trailer on his birthday.
|by Anonymous||reply 123||05/31/2013|
R123 He answered the best kisser quesiton (asked by Andy Cohen) BEFORE the diva on Gossip Girl set question happened (asked by an audience on the phone). Not to mention what happened on his birthday doesn't make BL a better or worse kisser.
My point is, from his answer last night, I highly doubt he honestly thought BL was a better kisser than JF when he did those interviews 2 years ago.
|by Anonymous||reply 124||05/31/2013|
Saw him on Andy Cohen's show with Ethan Hawke. He looks great in the new haircut. Not sure about those pedal pushers, though.
And I saw him a few months ago at Jekyll & Hyde opening night. He went with a guy & they sat together. They appeared to be REALLY close. Anyone has an idea who that guy is? I can't say for sure for Tveit, but that guy is definitely gay, unless my gay-dar had some serious problem that night.
|by Anonymous||reply 125||06/01/2013|
Reads as gay. References a roommate without using gender.
|by Anonymous||reply 126||06/01/2013|
He has very deep nasio-labial folds for a guy his age. It almost looks like facial wasting.
|by Anonymous||reply 127||06/01/2013|
There is nothing wrong with being HIV positive.
|by Anonymous||reply 128||06/01/2013|
R127 Clearly you haven't seen many Cacausian guys under age 35. It's just a feature and it's fairly common. Jensen Ackles and Patrick J. Adams, just to name a few other young TV stars.
Now go away, troll!
|by Anonymous||reply 129||06/01/2013|
Was it this guy he was sitting with, r125? This is his longtime roommate, actor Steven Booth.
Both supposedly straight, but a (straight male) friend of mine who knows them gets a vibe that there may be more to their relationship than just roommates.
|by Anonymous||reply 130||06/01/2013|
R130, that's Cynthia Nixon's girlfriend.
|by Anonymous||reply 131||06/01/2013|
But will Aaron ever be a real star, gay or straight? Time is running out.
|by Anonymous||reply 132||06/01/2013|
R132 He is doing pretty well for some one who is yet to hit 30 mark. Broadway leading man, big feature part in a major movie, and soon to be lead in a tv series. Not many people of his age could do that.
|by Anonymous||reply 133||06/01/2013|
But, R 133, how many people in the country know his name or even pronounce it? That's one mark of a true star.
|by Anonymous||reply 134||06/01/2013|
R134 No, that's one mark of a "household name". As for "true star", then it will depend on how you define it. A true broadway star? I would say he already is. His name has been consistantly appear on bww, broadway.com and playbill.com every few weeks or more frequently for the past two years or so. A true TV star? Wait for Graceland to air I would say. A true movie star? Well I don't think he is quite there yet. He has yet to land a lead role in a film. We'll see what happens.
|by Anonymous||reply 135||06/01/2013|
R130 This Steven Booth guy does look very gay from the picture. He claims to be straight? Are they still living together?
|by Anonymous||reply 136||06/02/2013|
He's straight. He was on Broadway for 7 years and there wasn't a single credibly gay rumor. There's no way that goes undetected in that community. NPH still thought he was straight when he got blown by a guy on the Rent tour.
|by Anonymous||reply 137||06/02/2013|
Is there any credible gossip confirming the existance of a current girlfriend? There must be some if it's true, since there's no need for him to hide it.
|by Anonymous||reply 138||06/02/2013|
Sorry but for someone who is supposedly straight, he did a piss-poor job of it when he was on with Andy Cohen this week. The two of them had quite the vibe.
|by Anonymous||reply 139||06/02/2013|
I've been seeing various reports of Tveit sightings in the city, and I think I've seen him more than once on time square. But not a single one of him with a girl.
|by Anonymous||reply 140||06/02/2013|
"Sorry but for someone who is supposedly straight, he did a piss-poor job of it when he was on with Andy Cohen this week. The two of them had quite the vibe."
I didn't watch the show, but I do think that being flirty with a flirty gay guy (particularly one who can help your career) is probably something many heterosexual male musical theatre actors have in their skill set.
|by Anonymous||reply 141||06/02/2013|
|by Anonymous||reply 142||06/02/2013|
"Sorry but for someone who is supposedly straight, he did a piss-poor job of it when he was on with Andy Cohen this week. The two of them had quite the vibe"
Please don't look to the behavior of any guest of Andy Cohen's as indicative of anything other than their thinking "Why am I booked on this narcissist's program?"
|by Anonymous||reply 143||06/02/2013|
The comments on this thread represent why I never take this shit seriously.
I know him and have worked with him. Totally gay-friendly, totally straight. A total doll. Whether he is a star is another story. That remains to be seen.
|by Anonymous||reply 144||06/02/2013|
He's straight. Trust me.
|by Anonymous||reply 145||06/02/2013|
He's too cute to be straight.
|by Anonymous||reply 146||06/02/2013|
Who is we? You got a turd in your pocket?
|by Anonymous||reply 147||06/02/2013|
One thing I found funny about his Les Miz run is in all his related interviews he never mentioned any of his female co-stars (Hathway, Seyfried, Barks, etc.) while he talked about almost all his male co-stars on set, including those little-known ones.
|by Anonymous||reply 148||06/02/2013|
Didn't his role involve shooting almost exclusively with the male co-stars, r148?
|by Anonymous||reply 149||06/02/2013|
That might be true. Yet other male actors who had similar situation, e.g. Fra Fee, George Blagden and Alistair Brammer, all mentioned the actresses in their interviews at least once. And they didn't get as many interviews as Mr. Tveit did.
|by Anonymous||reply 150||06/02/2013|
How funny like all those posters who claim to know him personally and confirm that he's straight always emphasize how "nice", "kind", "professional" he is in real life... when all I (and most people here I think) wanted to know was whether he's into cocks.
|by Anonymous||reply 151||06/03/2013|
Does anyone know if mlop (false or otherwise) knows Aaron?
|by Anonymous||reply 152||06/03/2013|
|by Anonymous||reply 153||06/03/2013|
From his appearance on the Andy Cohen comedy (half) hour I learned that his last name is not properly pronounce as though a German grandmother were trying to say "tweet."
|by Anonymous||reply 154||06/03/2013|
How is it pronounced, R154, Tvate? Tvite?
|by Anonymous||reply 155||06/03/2013|
Your first spelling looks closest, r155. At least that's what it sounded like to me - like a long "A"
|by Anonymous||reply 156||06/03/2013|
[quote]That might be true. Yet other male actors who had similar situation, e.g. Fra Fee, George Blagden and Alistair Brammer, all mentioned the actresses in their interviews at least once. And they didn't get as many interviews as Mr. Tveit did.
You guys should solve mysteries for living.
|by Anonymous||reply 157||06/03/2013|
All the chat about the actual pronunciation of his last name is at least part of the key reason Aaron cannot become a household name. That's real strike against him.
|by Anonymous||reply 158||06/03/2013|
Oops I've been pronouncing it wrong? I say it like "Tvite." I thought that's how Tom Hooper said it in the Les Miz DVD commentary?
|by Anonymous||reply 159||06/03/2013|
Maybe Andy is wrong and Aaron is just too nice to correct him, r159. But he pronounces it with the long A.
|by Anonymous||reply 160||06/03/2013|
Actually I think Andy was right. You can hear how himself say it in this video.
|by Anonymous||reply 161||06/03/2013|
And for reference, Hugh Jackman said his name at around 0'40' in this video:
|by Anonymous||reply 162||06/03/2013|
It's very easy to remember: Tveit rhymes with "straight".
|by Anonymous||reply 163||06/03/2013|
Haha, we can also say that the "ei" part is pronounced same as "ay", as in "gay".
|by Anonymous||reply 164||06/03/2013|
This is random but R162 makes me wanting to see Hugh Jackman and Aaron Tveit in a sex scene.
|by Anonymous||reply 165||06/04/2013|
GREAT idea, r165!! I'd love that, too!! Any thoughts on a project in which we could make that happen??
Purely for the acting challenge, though. As you all know, in real life I love eating my insanely hot wife Deb's pussy!
|by Anonymous||reply 166||06/04/2013|
R148 That would lean toward him being heterosexual. Gay men acknowledge women. Heterosexual males look passed them except for sex.
|by Anonymous||reply 167||06/04/2013|
R167 That's not fair to straight guys. Sexual preference doesn't necessarily imply attitude or respect for the opposite gender.
|by Anonymous||reply 168||06/04/2013|

Saw him and the other dude this morning on The Today Show. His pants had very intriging situations. To my eyes he seemed to be having a hard-on in front of camera.
By the way the other dude (Daniel Sunjata?) is quite hot, if only he could dress slightly better.
|by Anonymous||reply 171||06/06/2013|
The reason he can't become a household name is because he just doesn't come across on video. He's gorgeous on the stage but ugly on video. When I saw the preview for Graceland, I was thinking who is this little twerp they cast in the lead and why in the world did they cast him?
|by Anonymous||reply 172||06/06/2013|
He broke a nail while fingering his mussy to Penn Badgley!
|by Anonymous||reply 173||06/06/2013|
Tonight is the premiere of Graceland. Will Aaron wake up a star tomorrow? After all, it's only a summer replacement series.
|by Anonymous||reply 174||06/06/2013|
Uh, there's no such thing as a summer replacement series on cable, you freaking dumbass.
|by Anonymous||reply 175||06/06/2013|
R 175. Don't be so fucking superior. If this was an A class series it would be on in the hot fall or winter hours. Jeezz.
|by Anonymous||reply 176||06/06/2013|
Almost all cable networks launch new series in the summer so they don't have to compete with new episodes of network shows, you botched abortion.
|by Anonymous||reply 177||06/06/2013|
Got through about 15 minutes of Graceland before I had to turn-bored the crap out of me.
|by Anonymous||reply 178||06/06/2013|
The guy suffers from a charisma void. Just totally forgettable. As was his Enjolras. No fire. No passion.
|by Anonymous||reply 179||06/08/2013|
(R 179). Now there's a compliment for sure stardom. Poor Aaron just can't break through the cellophane.
|by Anonymous||reply 180||06/08/2013|
It's funny how many people went home searching him on imdb after seeing Les Miz which resulted in his rank ring up to 12 on Xmas week. That IS some high rank for a featured role. Totally forgettable? Data says otherwise.
|by Anonymous||reply 181||06/08/2013|
(cont.) And for reference, Samantha Barks' imdb rank at that time (highest) was 7. Just in case you hadn't noticed, she had a much bigger part in the film than Tveit had. She also got insane amount of publicity for a couple months while Tveit got basically none. Now if that many people were curious enough to search him afterwards, they sure as hell remember him long enough.
|by Anonymous||reply 182||06/08/2013|
He said in an interview that "he has a girlfriend."
|by Anonymous||reply 183||06/09/2013|
LOL! Yeah, I have lots of "girlfriends" too! This is the thing with these Broadway guys who want to work in other media...they play ball.
|by Anonymous||reply 184||06/12/2013|
Back in the days he used to walk around wearing make-up and being very flirty with his cast mates. I never thought he was hiding that he was gay. But apparently things have changed a lot in the last few years. So into the closet he goes, I guess.
By the way if you are wondering about the make-up, I'm pretty sure there are news photos floating around. There were plenty of those on playbill.com broadway.com and other sites, around 2008~2009, I think. Yes he even wore very feminine make-up to public events. So imagine my surprise when he claims to be straight.
|by Anonymous||reply 185||06/13/2013|
I never saw him until Graceland. He is really very hot! Cute, boy next door looking. I do agree with other posts that his up close face shots, he has some pretty deep crows feet wrinkles around his eyes. Seems strange for a guy only 29. But who knows. I had a room mate in college that was hot as hell but going bald at 20!
|by Anonymous||reply 186||06/17/2013|
It seems like he was poised to be "the next big thing" on Broadway before "Catch Me If You Can" opened -- but then the show flopped and he didn't get a Tony nomination (while his co-star WON!) I saw the show in a touring production and his part definitely could've been a star-making role. What happened?
|by Anonymous||reply 187||06/17/2013|
R 187. And under the radar is pretty much where he sits how many years later?
|by Anonymous||reply 188||06/18/2013|
Not bad, Almost 200 posts that tell us absolutely nothing about Aaron's, ahem, bent.
|by Anonymous||reply 189||06/18/2013|
R187. I saw the touring production in LA and had to say that production SUCKS. Obviously the lack of Norbert Leo Butz has to do with that, but the lead kid just can't MOVE and can barely sing on pitch. I thought Tveit's performance was only "okay" when I saw him on Broadway (like his performance in Next to Normal better), but after seeing the touring production, I think I should have given him more credit. As for the Tony nomination - I think that has to do with some bad luck. Catch Me If You Can happened to be in the same season with Book of Mormon (two very strong male leads!) and The Scottsboro Boys. I personally would choose him over the guy from Priscilla (sorry, can't remember his name) but that has to do with me disliking Priscilla very much. But then Catch Me and BOM would have taken up 4 out of 5 nominations.
|by Anonymous||reply 190||06/18/2013|
R190 I saw it in LA, too. And speaking of "The Scottsboro Boys," I'm seeing that next week at the Ahmanson.
|by Anonymous||reply 191||06/18/2013|
R191. Thanks for the information. Is Aaron Tveit (see thread topic) in that as well?
|by Anonymous||reply 192||06/18/2013|
R192 . I'm not 191 but according to my knowledge, no Aaron Tveit is not in the Scottsboro Boys.
|by Anonymous||reply 193||06/19/2013|
I've now watched two episodes of GRACELAND, and it's a much better show than most of the fluff on USA (second best after SUITS so far). I like the cast, especially Vanessa Ferlito as the savvy, edgy New Yawkah chick.
But this thread is about Aaron Tveit. I continue to adore, cherish, and revere him. He's a good actor, and he's awfully pretty. He looks as if he might be packing, too. He had one scene in boxer shorts, and two where he's walking in street clothes, in which there's more than just a hint of a nice package.
I'd love to see him, Eric Close, and Warren Kole in a nighttime serial drama together next year if the shows they're in don't last. They could be three brothers.
|by Anonymous||reply 194||06/21/2013|
R 194. There's a thread about Graceland (just search for the keyword).
I watched all three episodes, and even though I'm not totally into the show (yet), I do find Tveit's performance quite commendable. A few notches up from his previous TV stints, I think.
It's a shame his character is another typical straight cop guy, though. I was impressed by his performance in Saved! many years ago, in which he portrayed a gay teenager. His performance in Howl (with James Franco) is very impressive as well. I do think he delivers gay characters very well, even though it seems his orientation is still a mystery according to this thread.
|by Anonymous||reply 195||06/21/2013|
R194, Do you mean the play, i.e., the musical version of Saved!? I saw the movie, but have never seen the musical.
I first noticed Aaron in Gossip Girl, which I would have been the DL troll of, if I had been a member when it was on. I had so hoped Trip and Nate would get it on, giving us a Yes, Cousins Do! moment, but it was not to be.
I think I've seen him in everything non-live he's been in. I don't live in NY, so I don't get to see as many plays as I would if I did.
I'll look for the Graceland thread. Thanks.
|by Anonymous||reply 196||06/21/2013|
Yes, I saw the off-broadway production of Saved!. The musical itself is kind of a meh- to me, and the guy who played Dean's boyfriend is not nearly as cute as Aaron. But Aaron delivered a very convincing and sincere performance, especially in the first Act.
|by Anonymous||reply 197||06/21/2013|
Any good shots of Aaron's feets in the second or third episode?
|by Anonymous||reply 198||06/21/2013|
Why don't you watch them, R198, and report back.
|by Anonymous||reply 199||06/22/2013|
Too boring to watch the badly-written dialogue and stupid scenes, r199. I'm only interested in the show for clear shots of Aaron's gorgeous feets.
|by Anonymous||reply 200||06/23/2013|
He looks beautiful when traumatized.
|by Anonymous||reply 201||06/28/2013|
I've noticed more positive interest in this man that just about anyone else in awhile, and I feel it too. Wonder what it is. He isn't the handsomest by a long shot, but there's something about his moves and expressions that is just HOT. Plus the ass. OMG the ass.
Votes so far are about 99 straight to 1 gay, but the 1 was convincing so I'm going with it.
|by Anonymous||reply 202||06/28/2013|
R202 I agree with you. I think he's good looking but not extrodinarily so. Yet I feel he's crazy attractive every time I see him... especially in person. He isn't even seem to be trying but I just feel oddly aroused, and that's embarrassing. Just those moves and expressions, I don't know.
|by Anonymous||reply 203||06/28/2013|
Any links to screenshots of Aaron's feets?

Aaron is straight. He took his girlfriend to his final 54Below show. She sat with his parents. And she attends his games for the Broadway League (softball)in Central Park.
The accounts of his girlfriend at 54Below are easy to find on tumblr, and the photo of his girlfriend at the game was only taken last week.
he's very gay friendly though. Lots of gay friends and raises money for HIV causes and actors living with it.
He is a hottie. No doubt ;-)

"Aaron is straight. He took his girlfriend to his final 54Below show."
Oh well, that settles it then.
|by Anonymous||reply 206||07/02/2013|
[quote]he's very gay friendly though. Lots of gay friends and raises money for HIV causes and actors living with it.
Excuse me, am I reading it wrong or are you saying that "raising money for HIV causes and actors living with it" is a sign of being gay-friendly?
Don't get me wrong, I do think Broaway Cares is great and I've been a supporter for years. And I know Aaron has been very active in many of its activities and I admire him for that. However, BC is NOT a LGBT-only thing, just as AIDS is not a gay-only thing.
Speaking of his girlfriend, I personally would believe he has one as he himself said so on the WWHL talk show just a few weeks ago. I would easily be convinced if he takes her to some red carpet events. But even then people are still free to gossip and speculate, and I would admit I still enjoy gossips. Welcome to DL tumblr girl.
|by Anonymous||reply 207||07/02/2013|
He has a somewhat nice acting career now including movies so of course he's straight.
If he was gay he would not have been in the Les Misérables feature film. Studios don't use gay actors.
|by Anonymous||reply 208||07/02/2013|
He's dreamy, and probably more talented than your average young male Hollywood star, but I have to say I was disappointed with his performance as Enjolras.
Hearing his rather ordinary tenor fall so short of the vocal and dramatic heights reached by Anthony Warlow or Ramin Karimloo in the role was a real let down.
|by Anonymous||reply 209||07/02/2013|
R208 Wasn't Jonathan Groff once rumored to play Enjolras in Les Miserables? But then it turned out to be Aaron Tveit. Which I think it's a good choice, as Tveit does have stronger vocal than Groff and can pull off a harsher-sterner-cockier manner.
I don't think Tveit is vocally right for Enjolras either. But I prefer him over Ramin, at least perforamnce wise. As much as I love him, I don't think Ramin come across as the role of Enjolras as Victor Hugo depicted. He's too outrightly passionate almost to a point of fanatic, while Tveit and Warlow portrayed the cold/passionate combination much much better. Another thing is Enjolras is supposed to be blond.
Anyway, I think they probably have trouble finding an young male actor (20-something) with the right appearance (blond, very very handsome and somewhat effeminate), singing ability and vocal range (all the high notes), demeanor (charisma of a young student leader), acting skills and on-screen experience. The look is probably the hardest part. Of the recent and current West End/Broadway/US tour casts for Enjolras, I really can't think of one that fits the bill.

He was on Kelly and Michael yesterday, and Kelly just kept mentioning how he smelled like Neil Patrick Harris again and again. I laughed so hard that my roommate thought I was crazy.
|by Anonymous||reply 211||07/02/2013|
I for one would like to know what NPH and AT smell like, R211.
|by Anonymous||reply 212||07/02/2013|
reply @ 207
Apologies, I worded that completely wrong. I just meant that yes, Aaron is a straight man, but but he also has no issues with gay people either. A lot of gay friends, and he supports the community (not just re HIV) but the whole LGBT community. Seems like a decent guy. And he could be bi, I don't know..but for the moment he has a girlfriend.
Apologies again if my earlier comment upset anyone.
|by Anonymous||reply 213||07/02/2013|
R212 Second this. I have the impression that NPH likes AT a lot, even though I don't really know where I got that.
|by Anonymous||reply 214||07/02/2013|
If I can't look like them, at least I can smell like them, R214.
Is NPH Jewish, does anyone know? I've never known anyone named Harris who wasn't, but still.
|by Anonymous||reply 215||07/02/2013|
R215, no, NPH is not jewish as far as I know. I was laughing because I thought by emphasizing how they smell alike, Kelly accidentally made the implication that Aaron might just rolled out of NPH's bed ( the show was in the early morning). I should probably get my mind out of the gutter.
|by Anonymous||reply 216||07/02/2013|
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...........now I get it. Thanks, R211.
That whistling sound is the whole thing sailing right over my head.

You're right, E. Lynn. But I never really knew you (or your jimmie).
|by Anonymous||reply 219||07/02/2013|
R214 You've probably seen NPH's tweets about AT being robbed of Tony nominations for Next to Normal and Catch Me If You Can.
|by Anonymous||reply 220||07/02/2013|
Aaron had a star-making role in "Next to Normal" several years ago & was featured twice on that year's Tony Award Show. He was sensational in "Next to Normal." But, nothing he has been offered/accepted since has been close to that role, including "Graceland."
|by Anonymous||reply 221||07/02/2013|
R221 Yet he didn't even get a Tony nod. It puzzled me forever how Dad in Billy Elliot could won the best featured actor in a musical. I would easily choose Gabe (Tveit) or Michael in Billy Elliot over him any day.
|by Anonymous||reply 222||07/02/2013|
Um, I'm not Jewish.
|by Anonymous||reply 223||07/02/2013|
NPH also cast Aaron in the Hollywood Bowl performances of Rent.
|by Anonymous||reply 224||07/02/2013|
R216 LOL, I haven't thought about that. I think he said they smelled alike because the stylist put a lot of hair product on his head that morning. And I was thinking, "don't you think your hair is too short to use a lot of hair product?"
|by Anonymous||reply 225||07/02/2013|

Was he barefoot??
|by Anonymous||reply 227||07/02/2013|
R227 Unfortunately, no. I enjoyed that scene nontheless. This pic was posted on the show's facebook page:
|by Anonymous||reply 228||07/02/2013|
Oh, I thought you were referring to a scene on "Graceland", r226. (I didn't recognize Strahan's name.)
|by Anonymous||reply 229||07/02/2013|
R225 That's what I thought, too. While I don't seriously think he got NPH scent by spending the night with him (lol), the hair product thing sounds like a shady excuse. Anyway I think he looks hotter with short hair, wish he keeps this hair cut for a while longer.
|by Anonymous||reply 230||07/02/2013|

|by Anonymous||reply 231||07/02/2013|

|by Anonymous||reply 232||07/02/2013|

Do you have a video of this? I looked at their facebook page, they posted some video clips from the show, but only a picture of Tveit & Strahan leg wrestle.
|by Anonymous||reply 233||07/03/2013|
Interesting take on Ramin Karimloo's Enjolras, R210.
I quite liked his 'hot-blooded' interpretation of the role, but you are right that coldness combined with revolutionary passion is the essence of Hugo's character. I suppose that marble blond beauty is a part of that, but I don't think that means a non-blonde actor can't play the role.
Warlow wasn't blond. I was lucky enough to see him in the Sydney production in 1988 when I was 14. He was extraordinarily beautiful in both looks and voice at the time - the perfect Enjolras, IMO.
|by Anonymous||reply 234||07/03/2013|
I don't think the writing of Enjolras in the musical supports coldness, so why try to play against the writing? If that's what Tveit was trying to do, it just came out boring. I don't particularly care how Hugo described the characters. I would have preferred a singer with more legit balls to his sound than Tveit has.
|by Anonymous||reply 235||07/03/2013|
R231. Forget Michael Arden, just like everyone has. He hasn't even seen Bobby Steggert's photos, and those are something to behold.
|by Anonymous||reply 236||07/03/2013|
R209 In fact, Warlow was blond at that time. But the original productions decided to use a dark-haird wig for the role of Enjolras. So even though Michael Maguire (OBC) and Anthony Warlow were both blond, they wore wigs on stage. I think they mentioned in some early interviews that they think the dark-haired wig looks more "romantic." I like Warlow very much, too. He's the perfect stage Enjolras to me, too bad he didn't leave nearly enough video footages in that role. He's got the coldness and passion quite well combined. If there's any doubt that I have with regard whether he would have made a perfect Enjolras on film - is my concern on his on-screen performance. And while I think he's extremely handsome, he still came of a bit too masculine to me (same with Michael Maguire).
R235 It's all about interpretation. If you watch video clips of Warlow in that role, you can see how coldness could be done, and beautifully so. Not to mention there's a big difference between film and stage, both in format and in writing. And apparently Tom Hooper and the creators were trying to do something in between the stage musical and the book. It's fine if you don't care how Hugo described the characters, but unfortunately those script writers and directors apparently do. So do many of the audience (like me). The role Enjolras definitely has some unique qualities and complexities. If people only want to see some typical hot-blooded, strong-willed, strong-voiced, super masculine young revolutionary leader, then so many other stories are out there with that kind of characters. In my opinion, that's even more boring for how mundane, stereotyped, and predictable it is.
|by Anonymous||reply 237||07/03/2013|
R234 And oh, I forgot to mention the evolution of the role over the year - the wig, for one, has changed from the almost black colored wig tied up in the back in the 1980s (OLC, OBC, OAC) to long curly blond (recent productions: Jon Robyns (UK), Jeremy Hays(US), Daniel Diges(Spain), Christopher Jacobsen(UK), etc.) Some other aspects have changed over the years as well.
|by Anonymous||reply 238||07/03/2013|
Anthony Warlow is a much better and hotter Enjolras.

His PR doesn't seem to be all that efficient. Or that photo is not quite enough to suggest his orientation (he's had girlfriends and all).

I'm pretty sure I saw him at the Ritz' the other night. He was with another guy but they weren't particularly close or anything in the few seconds I saw him. Then I got distracted.
