Jean Harris???? The bitch who offed the diet doc?

by Anonymousreply 112/28/2012

Yes. She died on Sunday.

Jean S. Harris, the private-school headmistress whose 1981 trial for the murder of a prominent Scarsdale, N.Y., physician galvanized a nation mulling feminist perspectives with its story of vengeance by an aging woman scorned, died on Sunday at an assisted-living center in New Haven. She was 89.

Diet food will be served at the wake.

But was always puzzled that she was often called his "mistress." One, he wasn't married. And two, homegirl was, uh, not quite what I'd call mistress material.

by Anonymousreply 1112/28/2012

Nancy Grace would have had a field day with her.

I thought they had to be celebrities. People die all the time.

Who played Jean in the TV movie? My bf and I both can't remember and it's driving us nuts.

And who played Dr. Tarnower?

by Anonymousreply 1512/28/2012

I think it was Morgan Fairchild.

by Anonymousreply 1612/28/2012

Annette Bening, R15

by Anonymousreply 1812/28/2012

R15, I think the doctor was Ben Kingsley.

The other problem was that he was someone who had his photo (however off putting) on a book jacket. Back then and in those circles, writers were like rock stars...

Groupies never fare well.

She was a pretty lousy psychic but I used to read her columns in the National Inquirer a lot.

by Anonymousreply 2112/29/2012

Listen, I was the victim here. That little Jew was just riding my back trying to get his pathetic little face in the papers!
