I'm very excited, tasteful friends

One of the finest houses I have ever seen.

by Anonymousreply 2612/28/2012

What are you excited about, OP? Is that your new home?

by Anonymousreply 112/27/2012

It could be, for the price of a 1 bedroom apartment in Manhattan.

by Anonymousreply 212/27/2012

Fabulous setting.

by Anonymousreply 312/27/2012

Love it.

by Anonymousreply 412/27/2012

I suspect based on the width and depth of the house, they contoured based on the property lot size. Creative yet functional.

by Anonymousreply 512/27/2012

Astounding

by Anonymousreply 612/27/2012

I love it!

I want it, and I want to pick it up and move it to a place that has a view worth looking at.

by Anonymousreply 712/27/2012

It's beautiful. I hate the furniture though. And I'm just imagining what the ceiling over the kitchen will be like after cooking in there for a year or two. Ewww.

by Anonymousreply 812/27/2012

I didn't want to like it but after the pix, that is awesome.

by Anonymousreply 912/27/2012

I don't do minimalism.

by Anonymousreply 1012/27/2012

Lovely views. Just too minimalist for me. I do not understand the kitchen.

by Anonymousreply 1112/27/2012

Very nice building site, but if they wanted a cave, why didn't they just dig out the hillside?

by Anonymousreply 1212/27/2012

How does it stay up during quakes?

by Anonymousreply 1312/27/2012

That thing will somersault down the hill in a quake.

by Anonymousreply 1412/27/2012

Exhibitionists.

by Anonymousreply 1512/27/2012

It would be like living on a subway platform in Astoria.

by Anonymousreply 1612/27/2012

Yes, it seems very under-engineered for Japan, unless there are some very serious hidden supports.

Love it, though. Love elegant minimalism, small spaces used fabulously, and sweeping views.

by Anonymousreply 1712/27/2012

[quote]It would be like living on a subway platform in Astoria.

I second that emotion.

by Anonymousreply 1812/27/2012

I guess it's ok if you wanna live in a taco shell.

by Anonymousreply 1912/27/2012

Site is not iPad friendly. Could only see 1 photo, the first one. Hate those fucking slide show sites. Just put the fucking pics all on the same page and I'll pick the ones I want to look at. Like those "10 best/worst cities for..." articles that make you load a new page for each city profiled. Fucking poor user interface! OK. Rant over. House looks cool.

by Anonymousreply 2012/27/2012

So the smell of cooking permeates the whole space, including the bedroom.

by Anonymousreply 2112/27/2012

Lovely setting, great use of glass, but an ugly worm of a building with awkward volumes and unpleasant shapes.

by Anonymousreply 2212/27/2012

R2, you seem not to realize that the price depends on those valuable two words at the end: "in Manhattan."

Who wants a house in Japan?

by Anonymousreply 2312/27/2012

The Japanese, r23?

by Anonymousreply 2412/27/2012

I love minimalism but this is boring and ugly. It's like living in a covered bus stop.

by Anonymousreply 2512/27/2012

That was lovely, thank you.
