Yes, in the 70s when I was working in an office in London in my 20s our immediate supervisor was an old guy who told me had been one of Edmund's kept boys when he was young. I can't remember his first name but his surname was Stebbings, a very nice eldergay.

Many people today only know him for his Oscar-winning role in 'Miracle on 34th Street' but he had a long career before that.

He was in the 1940 version of "Pride and Prejudice" and also played a villain in one of Alfred Hitchcock's films and had character parts in many, many others.
