What would "Larry King: Live From Newtown" be like?

"After this, we'll talk to Dr. Drew Pinsky, who has some insights into the possible motives of Mario Lanza."

by Anonymousreply 2001/26/2013

"How far is the school from the Fig Newtown factory?"

"How far is Newtown from Derby? That's where they used to make derby hats. I had a hat like that once. Anderson, did you ever have a derby hat?"

And let's not forget tonite's poll question.

Matt Lattanzi... wasn't he married once to Juice Newton?

by Anonymousreply 512/16/2012

Mr Lanza I realise you must be struggling with what your son did but can you offer us your thoughts on the Lindsay Lohan situation?

by Anonymousreply 612/16/2012

Larry King was not an idiot. He did great coverage for many, many years.

Sure he got forgetful when he was older, but he was on his game for a long time.

"Now we go to Tom Foreman, with a report live from Sandy Duncan Elementary School."

by Anonymousreply 812/16/2012

Thank you Larry @R7.

I thought Sandy Hook was in New Jersey!

An old friend to this program, the incomparable Liza Minnelli is here to offer her insight into the tragic shooting at the Fig Newton factory today.

Liza, did you ever meet the shooter, Mario Lanza?

Hi Georgia!

Larry was a moron and his interviews were an embarrassment to CNN. He bragged that he never prepared for them.

by Anonymousreply 1312/16/2012

Nonsense, R13.

Special guests Joey Heatherton and Carol Linley are here to talk about how the school children visiting the fig newton factory tragedy is affecting them.

Later, stay tuned for a special report about why Superstorm Sandy decided to unleash her wrath at the Sandy Knoll School that was named after her.

We'll be right back after this message from Geritol.

my wife will be singing after the break

by Anonymousreply 1612/16/2012

Liza, where were you when Sandy Duncan went on her rampage in Hoboken?

She has one eye. How would Sammy respond to the crisis?

by Anonymousreply 1712/16/2012

Larry was a soft interviewer, for sure, though he seemed to become faux tough later on. Maybe in response to wide criticism of his softball technique. But let's not forget that in spite of that, actually, because of that, he got the A-listers on every breaking story. I was sure he would get the Pope and QE II eventually.

by Anonymousreply 1812/16/2012

It's true, R14. King said he does an interview like a conversation, and considered it his duty to be unprepared, i.e., does not read the book or do any reading research.

by Anonymousreply 1912/16/2012

"Liza, how about a rendition of 'Newtown, Newtown'?"

"Liza, you know any songs with 'Connecticut' in the title?"
