Liberal HW actors who film in Canada are traitors!

Samuel L. Jackson, a small business himself, as are all big-time actors, is in Canada right now filming a new film, therefore depriving the state of California of much needed revenue.

Oh sure, he has no problem living in Beverly Hills CA USA, but god forbid he work there. He is not the only one.

Republican HW actors, few and far between, would never do such a thing.

What say you?

by Bill O'Reillyreply 3112/04/2012

Presumably his agent, manager, and hair stylist are in California though, so he is a job creator!

by Bill O'Reillyreply 112/03/2012

What is HW?

by Bill O'Reillyreply 212/03/2012

Canadians need to eat, too.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 312/03/2012

We will steal all your actors, but in such polite fashion you won't notice until they're all gone.

In exchange, you may have Avril Lavigne and Howie Mandel.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 412/03/2012

Only if we can send back Pamela Anderson and William Shatner.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 512/03/2012

It's cheaper to work in Canada. Tons of tv shows are filmed up there.

It would be prohibitively expensive to do "Arrow" in Los Angeles.

Aren't the taxes and permits and stuff really expensive?

by Bill O'Reillyreply 612/03/2012

Between us, we can play every American city.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 712/03/2012

Obviously, R6. But that's no excuse.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 812/03/2012

OP, can I assume you are a female?

If you had a choice of making $10/hr in Fresno, or $20/hr in Sacramento, which would YOU choose.

Taxes always drive the wealthy away (since they can afford to produce elsewhere) and that's why France is shitting itself after Hollande raised taxes. They are projecting a 12-17% drop in tax revenue for 2015 due to wealthy people leaving the country.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 912/03/2012

[quote] Taxes always drive the wealthy away

This is why there are no wealthy people in the United States!

by Bill O'Reillyreply 1012/03/2012

R10, look at how many of them use perfectly legal (for the ultra wealthy) means to move money out of the US, while the middle class suffers.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 1112/03/2012

Miss, with all due respect I have problems of my own.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 1212/03/2012

Bullshit, R9. Taxes went up in the 90s here with Clinton and so did the economy. Then 43 cut them and the economy went into the tank.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 1312/03/2012

[quote]Republican HW actors, few and far between, would never do such a thing.

Oh, my sides!!

by Bill O'Reillyreply 1412/03/2012

Correlation vs Causation. Look it up.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 1512/03/2012

The top 25% already pay 87% of taxes. Raising them isn't going to help.

If you took 100% of the income of the top 10% we still wouldn't cover the deficit.

Cutting bullshit spending (like ending the wars) is the only way to stop it.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 1612/03/2012

R16: try pulling some tax numbers from somebody other than a Scaife-funded wingnut antitax thinktank.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 1712/03/2012

Does Canada still subsidize productions with sufficient Canadian content or involvement?

by Bill O'Reillyreply 1812/03/2012

R17, please provide a graph of cumulative taxes that shows I'm wrong.

What? You can't? Is that because taxes have never gone higher than what I say?

by Bill O'Reillyreply 1912/03/2012

"The top 25% already pay 87% of taxes."

And the top one percent have 99% of the money. They should be paying AT LEAST 99% of the taxes.

But, no, our brave millionaires and billionaires pay LESS than the poor and middle class. Because they say they are job creators, when in fact, they are job destroyers.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 2012/03/2012

R20, WHY do they have 99% of the money? Is it because they suck up to pliant congressmen and presidents that get them lucrative contracts? Or because they control the Federal Reserve and can use that control?

If it were up to me (and I'm a 100% anarchist libertarian liberal) the .01% would be forced to lose every asset, home, property, holding and account. They have raped it from the 99.99%. The holdings would be used to pay for previously promised social security benefits, Medicare (providing it was divorced from the AMA) and the rest spread to every household on earth. Yes, give it to the Chinese, Indians, Native Americans, etc. that have been raped by them.

Oh, and every politician that participated (Bush, Clinton, Obama, Rice, Reid, etc.) would be put in jail to work off their crimes.

Maybe then, once the parasites at the top have been stopped, we might grow as a society.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 2112/03/2012

No, I'm not a female, R9.

R21 is absolutely right. Of course the top 25% pay most of the taxes...BECAUSE THEY MAKE MORE MONEY. However, the top .01% contribute NOTHING. And the top 1%, very little relative to what they earn as compared to the bottom 50%.

The wealthy have absolutely no loyalty to the United States. They make their money by shipping jobs overseas where poor children and adults will work for pennies a day in horrific conditions. They pay big dollars to shield their money and invest it wherever they can get the most bang for their buck, wherever that may be.

The growing gap between the rich and the poor is steadily beginning to resemble neofeudalism, and that's HERE in America. The wealthy are nothing but PARASITES.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 2212/03/2012

The bottom 47% don't pay any income taxes.

Romney is a piece of shit, and deserves all the scorn heaped on him (and his Lady Macbeth-ian sisterwife) but he was right- the bottom half don't pay a penny in taxes.

The top .01% steal it, using the mechanisms they've gained from their control of the government to make it seem "normal".

Have you ever watched MSNBC? Or BloombergNews? Or FOXNews? They all play the game, knowing that most of the 99.99% are too stupid, or too caught up in "The Kuntrashians" or "HoneyPooPoo" to care.

The big banks (aka the Federal Reserve) has printed enough money to get them though this current criisis...what happens next???

by Bill O'Reillyreply 2312/03/2012

How much does one have to earn to pay taxes?

by Bill O'Reillyreply 2412/03/2012

[quote] the bottom half don't pay a penny in taxes

It has been explained to you over and over again that this is not true. Why do you continue to insist on saying it?

-The 51 percent and 46 percent figures are anomalies that reflect the unique circumstances of the past few years, when the economic downturn greatly swelled the number of Americans with low incomes. The figures for 2009 are particularly anomalous; in that year, temporary tax cuts that the 2009 Recovery Act created — including the “Making Work Pay” tax credit and an exclusion from tax of the first $2,400 in unemployment benefits — were in effect and removed millions of Americans from the federal income tax rolls. Both of these temporary tax measures have since expired. In 2007, before the economy turned down, 40 percent of households did not owe federal income tax. This figure more closely reflects the percentage that do not owe income tax in normal economic times.

-These figures cover only the federal income tax and ignore the substantial amounts of other federal taxes — especially the payroll tax — that many of these households pay. As a result, these figures greatly overstate the share of households that do not pay federal taxes. Tax Policy Center data show that only about 17 percent of households did not pay any federal income tax or payroll tax in 2009, despite the high unemployment and temporary tax cuts that marked that year. In 2007, a more typical year, the figure was 14 percent. This percentage would be even lower if it reflected other federal taxes that households pay, including excise taxes on gasoline and other items.

-Most of the people who pay neither federal income tax nor payroll taxes are low-income people who are elderly, unable to work due to a serious disability, or students, most of whom subsequently become taxpayers. (In years like the last few, this group also includes a significant number of people who have been unemployed the entire year and cannot find work.)

-Moreover, low-income households as a group do, in fact, pay federal taxes. Congressional Budget Office data show that the poorest fifth of households paid an average of 4.0 percent of their incomes in federal taxes in 2007, the latest year for which these data are available — not an insignificant amount given how modest these households’ incomes are; the poorest fifth of households had average income of $18,400 in 2007. The next-to-the bottom fifth — those with incomes between $20,500 and $34,300 in 2007 — paid an average of 10.6 percent of their incomes in federal taxes.

-Moreover, even these figures greatly understate low-income households’ total tax burden because these households also pay substantial state and local taxes. Data from the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy show that the poorest fifth of households paid a stunning 12.3 percent of their incomes in state and local taxes in 2011.

-When all federal, state, and local taxes are taken into account, the bottom fifth of households pays about 16 percent of their incomes in taxes, on average. The second-poorest fifth pays about 21 percent.

R25=too much time on her hands.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 2612/03/2012

They pay taxes...but less than 2% total.

The top 10% pay 90% and the top 50% pay the other 98%.

I hope r28 has a full time job, since she is going to be cut to 27 hours a week in the next few weeks.

R28 is gold.

by Bill O'Reillyreply 3012/03/2012

But what does all the shit that this thread has devolved to have anything to do with the hottie actors working in Vancouver??

Wasn't this the original question?
