Because it's not the Middle East, OP.

On the national network news, it was like, "Big Floods in Europe! And the Eastern Seaboard is getting so rain as well..."

It is odd. I watch streaming TV mostly so I check CNN Int'l and BBC for news. They, of course, have had lots of coverage of Wales and had Cameron in SW England today. I just checked NBC Evening News and didn't see a thing about the massive flooding.

OP, they don't want to cause a universal panic among the country, especially being very close to the end of the Mayan calender.

I'm being very serious!

If you had the Disaster Alert app, you would be very surprised what's happening all over country.

Ho hum... OP, what makes you think that most Americans are even aware that other countries exist, let alone matter?

Bitch, please. If we haven't invaded it recently, we've never heard of it.

One woman died in Wales?? OMG! That's FRONT PAGE news!!!

by Anonymousreply 1111/27/2012

R11, typical American aashole. The two things are not mutually exclusive.

by Anonymousreply 1211/27/2012

And yet you seem to have linked to a news report about this unreported story, paradoxically.

I just spent the weekend in Florence and there was no sign of any flooding.

We only talked about the flooding in NY for a few days and most of us live there. Once the water goes down, it's boring to have to look at watermarks and a bunch of wet insulation. And them there were the accents of the people who got flooded -- Staten Island, Queens, Long Island. We turned our TVs off Day Two.
