I don't want to sound like an elitist, but who in the fuck am I dating and how do I get out of this?
I just found out that my boyfriend of 6 months doesn't have a passport

Wow, you sound like an asshole. Please break up with him so he can move on and date a guy wh isn't a shallow fuck.
My boyfriend didn't have a passport when we met either, but since then he got one, and we've been to Europe 3 times together.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||11/25/2012|
You're an asshole OP
|by Anonymous||reply 3||11/25/2012|
Hopefully he'll soon realize that you are indeed an asshole and shallow fuck and make plans to travel with someone more interesting than you.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||11/25/2012|
Cut him loose, you will be doing the right thing.
It's not your job to educate an untraveled boor.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||11/25/2012|
Dump him immediately, OP. You need someone cultured who can accompany you on your annual holiday to Cancun.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||11/25/2012|
I have a passport but no driver's license. My passport *is* my I.D. Do you think I'm beneath you as well, OP?
|by Anonymous||reply 7||11/25/2012|
What is his background and how old is he? There is a big difference between never wanting to experience other cultures and never having had the opportunity.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||11/25/2012|
I went years without a passport because I was in the military it wasn't required to go abroad.
r8 is right. We'll need details.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||11/25/2012|
In the marry, kill screw game I know where op falls for me.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||11/25/2012|
What did you serve him for Thanksgiving dinner, OP? Did you go with the seven appetizers and six pies?
|by Anonymous||reply 11||11/25/2012|
r7 should get a state issued id. passports are for intering countries...and in many areas you with be subject to arrest without proper id. No, a passport is not proper id.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||11/25/2012|
Where were you planning on traveling with him before you found this out?
|by Anonymous||reply 13||11/25/2012|
Horrors! Quick the smelling salts!
|by Anonymous||reply 14||11/25/2012|
Betrayal is such a hurtful thing.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||11/25/2012|
I'm 83 and don't have one either. What's your point?
|by Anonymous||reply 16||11/25/2012|
From the Galloping Gourmet thread:
Somebody trolldar'd the OP a couple months back and busted him for starting three or four threads at the same time as 3 or 4 different personas. One was a Galloping Gourmet thread in which the GG announced one of his many breakups with his imaginary bf; in another, the OP and his bf were still together, but OP was bitter about staying home sick while his bf attended a bbq; and in yet a third thread, OP and imaginary bf were blissfully happy together and had just spent the weekend visiting OP's dream town somewhere in New England.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||11/25/2012|
R7, like you, I have a (well used) passport, but no driver's license. I do have a driver, however. I suspect that OP would be willing to date me on that basis. All the more reason not to date him.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||11/25/2012|
I don't need one.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||11/25/2012|
OP, you're an idiot.
That is all.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||11/25/2012|
My stuck up boyfriend freaked out when I told him I don't have a passport. Who the fuck am I dating and how do I get out of this?
|by Anonymous||reply 21||11/25/2012|
Can't believe I wasted 6 months of my life with this elitist bitch.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||11/25/2012|
"Who in the fuck am I dating?"
A guy without a passport..!!!!
Get a grip, MARY!
|by Anonymous||reply 23||11/25/2012|
When I found out my BF didnt have a passport we worked through the emotional trauma and then we got a passport
|by Anonymous||reply 24||11/25/2012|
He can always get a passport so that part of the situation is easily remedied.
Not sure there's any remedy for your lethal combination of pretension and lack of character, OP.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||11/25/2012|
R21... Break up with the OP, you're too good for him.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||11/25/2012|
[quote]No, a passport is not proper id.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||11/25/2012|
I dated someone for a few months before I realized he had spent every semester in college in residence (never been abroad, never traveled anywhere), and then, later, that he had only started a prestigious MFA program but never completed it.
While not dealbreakers themselves, they signified the beginning of the end for me. The guy was dishonest and a complete fraud.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||11/25/2012|
|by Anonymous||reply 29||11/25/2012|
R28. So your bf lied and said he traveled a lot when he didn't. If that's the situation with the OP, it would make a big difference and I would stop making fun of him.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||11/25/2012|
And THIS is why I love you cunts.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||11/25/2012|
Help him get a passport then. May be his best chance to get the fuck away from you
|by Anonymous||reply 32||11/25/2012|
Take it down a notch, OP. So what? I actually do want to go travel but I can't really afford the fees right now and have an issue with my birth certificate. You could go your whole life and not experience all of the US, you don't have to go anywhere actually do experience different cultures and people. I've honestly never had any food that's not soul food, American, Mexican, or Italian. There's so much even here to see because many cultures are here as well as abroad. Places are wonderful but they are special because of what is attached to them.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||11/25/2012|
Don't worry, OP. A passport isn't needed for your weekly repast at the Olive Garden.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||11/25/2012|
Elitist Snooty Traveller just tossed this one out there with minimal effort. Dud. 1/10.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||11/26/2012|
Approximately 38% of US Americans have passports. Many of them don't have maps.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||11/26/2012|
Somewhere in the neighborhood of 33% of Americans hold passports.
If you whittle that down to the percentage of that 33% who are gay, and then of those who might actually be interested in the OP, the number gets miniscule.
You can't afford to have such high expectations OP. Better unclutch.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||11/26/2012|
OP is why I don't date anybody. Fuck you all!
|by Anonymous||reply 38||11/26/2012|
STOP IT! Just STOP IT!
|by Anonymous||reply 39||11/26/2012|
