Police: Man Left Toddler in Car While Shopping Black Friday Deals

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (KTLA) -- A Massachusetts man could be facing child endangerment charges after he allegedly left his girlfriend's 2-year-old son in the car while he shopped.

Police were alerted by store security at a K-Mart in Springfield around 1:30 a.m. Friday that a toddler was asleep in a parked car.

Officers forced their way into the car and took the boy to the hospital as a precaution.

Anthony Perry, 34, man was later confronted at his home, telling officers that he lost the boy while shopping and called a friend for a ride for himself and his new 51-inch flat screen television.

Police say Perry did not report the boy missing.

The boy's mother, Perry's girlfriend, was working at the time and Perry was supposed to be babysitting.

The man has not been arrested, but police say he may be charged with reckless endangerment.

He didn't report the child missing? At all?

Throw him in jail. It's a kindness, really, since once his wife hears about this she's going to rip his neck out with her teeth.

So who's car was he asleep in?

They can fetch twenty thousand, if the eyes stay blue. Surely he could have traded it for a nice flat screen TV?

If he had done it on a summer day and the kid had cooked to death, it would have been a "he's suffered enough" thing with the police and the family would ask for privacy.

He left a toddler in a locked car to go shop.

After examining the child, the ambulance driver was quoted as saying "The baby ended up being the K-Mart Blue, Light Special"

But he got his Wii U!

He couldn't fit the 51" TV into his car, so he decided to call a friend for a ride home. Better to abandon the kid than the TV.
