Who here is a size 30 inch waist?

If so are you just very skinny with a high metabolism?

Or do you have to rigorously diet and exercise to maintain that size 30 waist?

by Anonymousreply 10602/08/2013

Brad Pitt has a 28 inch waist. Combination of tons of cardio, not eating and smoking to replace meals.

by Anonymousreply 111/22/2012

29 inch waist here.

by Anonymousreply 211/22/2012

OP, stop enabling the obese

by Anonymousreply 311/22/2012

R2 are u just naturally skinny?

by Anonymousreply 411/22/2012

I've got a 30 inch waist. I lift four or five times a week, and do cardio on non-lifting days. My diet is pretty strict, but every once in awhile I step outside of it. I tend to eat six times a day, low carb intake as the day goes out

by Anonymousreply 511/22/2012

Yes R4, but I also run 6 times a week and lift 5 times a week. I'm also white flour free.

by Anonymousreply 611/22/2012

My waist has been the same 30 inch size for 50 years. Eat what I want, never diet, and only occasionally exercise. So good genetics. That said, my fashionable, immensely self-disciplined, always bandbox-immaculate parents made it very clear when we were growing up that if any of the family ever put on weight they would disown us.

by Anonymousreply 711/22/2012

I'm 6 ft tall and have a 29 inch waist. Basically, for me it's all metabolism. I do work out four to five times a week and run half-marathons (as a bean pole, I'm a naturally good runner but have to be vigilant about lifting weights and doing resistance training because it's hard for me to build and maintain muscle.)

by Anonymousreply 811/22/2012

50 with a 29 inch waste. Active lifestyle and eat everything in moderation. I can still wear clothes from high school.

by Anonymousreply 911/22/2012

29 inch and 37 years old. My parents have normal bodies, which means they're relatively thin compared to other Americans.

I try to eat healthy and work out when I can, but do not consciously diet.

by Anonymousreply 1011/22/2012

5'9" with a 29" waist and I'm 52. I'm female, which is probably not what you were looking for.

by Anonymousreply 1111/22/2012

Brad Pitt does not have a 28" waist. My sister has a tiny waist and it's 26. 23" waists are on little girls.

by Anonymousreply 1211/22/2012

Another 29 inch waist. 36 years old. It's my metabolism. I eat healthy, but I don't pay attention to calories. I keep active, but I don't really work out. My mom has the same metabolism, so I'm just lucky.

by Anonymousreply 1311/22/2012

49 ys old with a 31" waist. Yoga, lots and lots of walking and eating well. I don't snack and try to make good choices about what I consume. Oh and I don't drink which I think really helps cut abdominal fat.

by Anonymousreply 1411/22/2012

29 inches.

I walk 3 k every day at least because I walk to work, swim, and run and workout a little 4-5 days a week.

I also don't eat a lot of sugar.

by Anonymousreply 1511/22/2012

I'm a 5'3" woman. When I at my thinnest, I was about 24-25" waist. Now, I'm 28".

by Anonymousreply 1711/22/2012

We may be talking about 2 different things here - if you are talking pant size, the waist is not true to waist size with a tape measure. I comfortably wear a size 30 pants, but if I use a tape measure around my waist it is usually 32 or 33"

by Anonymousreply 1811/22/2012

59 -29 inch waist work out 30 minute cardio -to sweat- 30 minute weights watch diet ,but cheat all the time .ice cream, pizza etc the key is early morning workouts on an empty burn fat you already have ...not what you have just eaten,,i look 20 year younger than 59,its hard work ,but worth it

by Anonymousreply 1911/22/2012

I had a 28" waist until I had a mental breakdown and had to be put on anti-depressants and anti-psychotic meds. They made me gain weight.

by Anonymousreply 2011/22/2012

I have a waist that fluctuates between 28.5 inches and 30 inches. I just have a naturally high metabolism, but anyone who thinks thin people can be unhealthy has no idea what they're talking about. I'm prone to depression and I'm a workaholic, so all I really eat is takeout and junk. People are always commenting about how thin I am and guessing that I never eat, but I still wish I could go back to the days when I was muscular and energetic...instead of thin and lethargic.

Even tonight, I put away two full plates of dinner and multiple desserts, and my cousins teased me about eating too fast to taste the meal. Then everyone started joking about how they wish they could eat as much as I do and stay skinny. My dad's the same way when it coms to gaining weight, except he works out every morning. He's actually one of the few men in his 60s I've known who doesn't even have a paunchy stomach.

by Anonymousreply 2111/22/2012

I'm 6'5. With a 30" waist I'd look like this.

by Anonymousreply 2211/22/2012

I'm 46 and 6'3" and I'm proud to now have a 35" waist (it's been as much as a 38" waist before).

I could get it down to 33", but at this point it would be physically impossible for me to get it much below that without looking ridiculously skinny. And at 29" I'd look like a concentration camp inmate.

by Anonymousreply 2311/22/2012

R1, most doctors will tell you that combining cardio with smoking is a heart attack waiting to happen.

by Anonymousreply 2411/22/2012

My ex-roommate was a former model, and I'm sure fit those requirements at 6'0. He said that when he was under stress he couldn't eat, and in fact got too thin. Most others with enviable bodies think the same way.

by Anonymousreply 2511/22/2012

I'm 6' 4" with a 36" waist but not an ounce of fat on me. Oh well.

by Anonymousreply 2611/22/2012

Jesus, I haven't had a 30 inch waist since I was 12.

by Anonymousreply 2711/22/2012

27" here, and yes, I'm a skinny twink. The DL has changed a lot over the past few years - in the late 2000's, you could be eviscerated for revealing a waist smaller than 30".

by Anonymousreply 2811/22/2012

I'd venture, R26, you have the hottest body out of anyone on this thread.

by Anonymousreply 2911/22/2012

I've never had to watch what I eat, only one person in my family is over weight, she always was even as a child, and despite her lifelong dieting, never got thin for long. The rest of us were thin all our lives, and never had to do much of anything for it. Most on here who are thin, say they are naturally, and don't do much to be thin, do why is it that when someone is fat, no one acknowledges that it could be genetic and the way they are by nature, as a thin person is? Just wondering, because my fat cousin tried like hell, I lived with her and saw this. She could never lose and keep the weight off, no matter how hard she tried, while I ate what I want sms never had a problem. She even had chemo and lost no weight.

by Anonymousreply 3011/22/2012

My waist is 26.5", but that's because I'm a little guy.

by Anonymousreply 3111/22/2012

53, 5' 10" w/ a 30" waist. Been that way since I was a teenager - purely genetics. My Grandfather was 6' tall and had a 30" waist for all of his adult life.

by Anonymousreply 3211/22/2012

5'11, 170 lbs, 27 years old, 30 inch waist...I have always had a high metabolism and could eat whatever I wanted but for the past 4 years I really started eating healthily and working out. Now I work out 5-6 days a week. Cardio 3X and weights 5X. So for me it's a combo of genes and healthy lifestyle. I would say 85% of the people in my family are either fat or obese lol. Yeah, I stand out at family gatherings and I don't like most of the food they eat. I know some of them think I'm a pain in the ass or possibly snobby but I don't like disgusting fatty, salty, sugary foods. That's why I don't eat much if my mom isn't the one cooking. My relatives wouldn't like my food since it's not unhealthy enough so I don't bother making anything for them.

For those of you wanting to lose weight, I find cooking your own meals is the best way to be healthy.

by Anonymousreply 3311/22/2012

I'm currently wearing 30" waist pants; I cannot breathe and I am farting like a goat.

I will have to stop eating for awhile. All of my suits are for 42" shoulders and 30" waist for I AM Pocket Gay.

I have backfat - serious back fat. I also noticed that my ass has fallen. My cum gutters are disappearing. My once-perky tits are now turning to moobs. I am now 45. Fetch me a caftan or stretchy pants.

This internet is more of an addiction than any of my others and it's making me fat, lazy, and stupid.

by Anonymousreply 3411/22/2012

Always naturally skinny, but what does that mean? I never overeat. If I'm hungry, I eat. I stop when I'm full and never keep going because I just don't like the feeling of stuffing my face after my hunger goes away. It doesn't make sense to me.

6'2 160

by Anonymousreply 3511/22/2012

I was 32" at my slimmest (ages 18 and 27), at 6'2", and was extremely active, with a good diet, both times I hit that weight. I'd get bigger if I were doing one or the other but not both (say 34"). Those last 15 pounds and last 2" were of course the most difficult but made all the difference in the world.

by Anonymousreply 3611/22/2012

I'm 53 with a 34" waist, 6'2. I don't know what I weigh somewhere around 180 maybe. back in my 30s, my waist was 30" or less, weighed under 160, was working three jobs. Nothing looked good on me, I was too damn skinny.

by Anonymousreply 3711/22/2012

Maybe you just didn't know how to dress, R37. There are good choices for each waist size.

by Anonymousreply 3811/22/2012

I have a 26" waist, and a 34" inseam. I almost always have to buy 28" and have them cut down.

by Anonymousreply 3911/22/2012

28 but I am only 5 feet 5.

by Anonymousreply 4011/22/2012

I have a 30 inch waist but I'm actually fat. Your waist size doesn't determine how fat you are. I'm lucky I can just buy 30x30 jeans.

by Anonymousreply 4111/22/2012

I eat what I want, but I usually eat healthy. Today, I ate enough to feed a family of four for a week. 5'11", 30 inch waist, 22 years old. I used to be painfully skinny but I bulked up when I started swimming seriously.

My whole family are pretty fit. No one is fat, but one uncle and one aunt have to watch it a bit or they will put it on.

by Anonymousreply 4211/22/2012

As a middle-aged adult my waistline has gone up and down markedly and has been 30 at times. When it was 30, I didn't starve myself but I was much more active.

by Anonymousreply 4311/22/2012

If you have a 30 inch waist you are most likely a midget or malnourished. Add some other sizes for context. If you are 5'2 with a 30 inch waist and 36 inch chest, you are a midget. 6' with a 30 inch waist and a 46 inch chest?- that might mean something.

by Anonymousreply 4511/23/2012

I have a 28 inch waist, too!

You guys are fat!

by Anonymousreply 4611/23/2012

[quote]Brad Pitt has a 28 inch waist.

I very, VERY seriously doubt that. He is thin but not naturally *skinny*, at least not to the extent to which he could maintain a 28-inch waist in his late-40s.

As for the rest of you, a 28-inch waist is a sign of one or possibly more of several factors:

1) Your natural genetic makeup has left you with a permanent twink physique. Which is fine, I guess, as long as you have no interest in developing actual muscle.

2) You're short. Like, 5'7" and under short. R45 is merely a midget, not a "sickevilfuck.."

3) You have an eating disorder. The latest studies show that gay men are nearly as susceptible to anorexia and/or bulimia as teen girls, and rates of both among gay men are rising.

4) You're young. Don't worry, twinks and college kids; most of you will "fill out" and be wistfully recalling the days you could fit into anything under 32" by the time you're 30.

Btw if you're a woman with a 28" waist, you're fat unless you're 5'8" or taller. Jesus, even my 65-year-old *mom* has maintained a 32" waist, and she's only 5'4"!

by Anonymousreply 4711/23/2012

Check out the insufferable know-it-all at R47.

by Anonymousreply 4811/23/2012

I'm 6 feet and I've always ranged between 30-33 but I also don't eat refined sugar, wheat, or dairy. I'm 33 inches right now because I am on an antidepressant that is making me fat.

by Anonymousreply 4911/23/2012

these waist sizes have to be put into context. It's more likely that a man under 5'10 can have a 30inch waist compared to a man that is over 6'0 tall.

I'm 6'1, 33 waist, considered slim by people and have never had a waist size under 30 in my adult life.

41 year old male, 5'10", 136 lbs.,28" waist. Smallest person in my entire family, but I also have an aversion to sweets, dairy and over eating (except for last night). I'm not overly active, but I am on my feet moving all day at work.

by Anonymousreply 5211/23/2012

I've not had a 30" waist since 10th grade in HS. That time my pants were 30x36.

Now I've filled out and play rugby. I am 6'4, 235 with a 37". I would not want to go back to my HS physique -- I am happy being the beefy guy I am now.

by Anonymousreply 5311/23/2012

Just because you are a cow doesn't mean everybody is. I am 29 waist!!!!

by Anonymousreply 5411/23/2012

"Your natural genetic makeup has left you with a permanent twink physique. Which is fine, I guess, as long as you have no interest in developing actual muscle."

Who would? Muscle and the fat that grows over it as you age are overrated.

You radiate bitterness, R47. You can practically hear the teeth grinding behind that frenzied list.

by Anonymousreply 5511/23/2012

I just turned 30, and the waist size is still 27". Some of us have grandparents in their 80's with waists smaller than 30".

Share some more of your wisdom with us, R47.

by Anonymousreply 5611/23/2012

You age better if you've got some beef on you.

by Anonymousreply 5711/23/2012

What is this "waist" of which you speak?

If I bend over, I can see my feet. But I rarely bend over.

by Anonymousreply 5811/23/2012

To each his own but this is always better than a 30 inch waist.

by Anonymousreply 5911/23/2012

This too ...but you get the idea.

by Anonymousreply 6011/23/2012

Just one more.

by Anonymousreply 6211/23/2012

I have a 24 inch waist. One of my doctors thinks I have an undiagnosed wasting disease. I'm only 5'2" though and have always been skinny.

by Anonymousreply 6311/23/2012

R47 sounded so silly in his post. I bet the orderly gently patted his head and wheeled him away after he was done clanging on the keyboard.

by Anonymousreply 6411/23/2012

R47, you forgot a few more explanations

1. We're athletic. (I'm doing my 34th triathlon next year.)

2. We're European. We cycle and bike everywhere.

3. We don't eat like you do. My grandparents ski, walk, cycle and swim and burn off what they consume. They never got fat. And they could probably still beat you in a race.

by Anonymousreply 6511/23/2012

I meant to say we walk and bike everywhere.

by Anonymousreply 6611/23/2012

I have a 30" waist. I lift. I don't do cardio. Cardio is great for building stamina and general fitness, not so much for burning calories.

by Anonymousreply 6711/23/2012

No carbs after 6pm. Usually grilled chicken breast for dinner. Salad with no dressing. Yeah, I hate food.

by Anonymousreply 6811/23/2012

wrong r67.

Running is an extremely efficient calorie burn. Do the math.

You're confusing an elliptical with "cardio".

by Anonymousreply 6911/23/2012

For help with running and calorie math, see the link...

by Anonymousreply 7011/23/2012

I doubt any of you have a real 30" waist. You have to be very thing and very narrow hipped to have that.

I love how Matt Rush lists his weight at 215 and his waist as 32. No way.

To get your actual waist side you take a tape measure just below your navel. And in hale then exhale and measure.

And don't think cause you can stuff your size 38 waist in 30 inch jeans you are a 30 inch waist.

Dress pants are much more accurate. Jeans are totally inaccurate.

by Anonymousreply 7111/24/2012

We all know how to measure our waists, R47/R71.

by Anonymousreply 7211/24/2012

that FBI guy

by Anonymousreply 7311/24/2012

It really is just metabolism I think. I've been a 30 waist since I was 18 (now 40). I can't say I exercise that much either

by Anonymousreply 7411/24/2012

I'm 28-30, depending on the manufacturing. And I'm not sickly thin. I don't work out, but then again I'm only 19.

by Anonymousreply 7511/24/2012

I 'm 5'10 155lbs and have a 30 inch waist [R70] and I am very thing.

by Anonymousreply 7611/24/2012

{R47} I totally agree with your post. I was that 6ft 140pd twink through college and a few years beyond. I couldn't wait to gain weight. I consider these years to be the best of my life thus far.

by Anonymousreply 7711/24/2012

Are you one of those 'bellybuilders', R77?

by Anonymousreply 7811/24/2012

I just don't think I ever had a 30" waist. I weighed 190 in 6th grade. By the time a graduated, at my Army physical, I weighed 210. But like I said I'm pretty tall and just a big guy.

by Anonymousreply 7911/24/2012

30 here, sometimes 29, sometimes 28. Depends on water weight. Used to be 26 when I was 21. Then I got my butt implants.

by Anonymousreply 8011/24/2012

[quote]50 with a 29 inch waste. Active lifestyle and eat everything in moderation. I can still wear clothes from high school.

Betcha look really hot in those wide-leg jeans!

by Anonymousreply 8111/24/2012

OP, this may come to a surprise to you, and to many here, (which shocks and intrigues me), but I'm 58 and get confused for 19 all the time, I mean, all the time, and I wear size 30 jeans. And, that's because I work out 7 days a week, eat right, I don't smoke or drink, and I use Regenerist, Avon Deep Wrinkle, I get deep Glycolic facial peels 5 days a week, and I use L'OReal Sublime Bronze fake tanner.

As a matter of fact, I'm at the mall right now and I just left Abercrombie with my fraternity brahs. Can't you smell us from here? I bought a nice pair of faded boot cut jeans. They were a size 30. I also bought some Abercrombie 8 cologne. The sales guys are always so nice to me when I go in there. I feel bad sometimes, though, when I see guys who are 19 too, who go into Abercrombie and get ignored by the staff. It's because you don't fit the Abercrombie lifestyle, bro! It's aight, JCrew is more your speed.

We are heading over to Hollister as we speak to chill with one of my bro's girls (she works there and she'll hook us up with some discounts) and I plan to get some sandals, another pair of faded jeans size 30, and some Hollister shirts to wear out to the clubs tonight.

Great Black Friday sales going for the size 30 community, OP. Hope you get a chance to experience it one day.

by Anonymousreply 8211/24/2012

Eh. The old 'abercrombiestud' posts were funnier.

by Anonymousreply 8311/24/2012

I've had a 30" waist for years. I'm 49 (ancient, I know), but although I go to the gym about 4-5 times a week, I don't really watch my diet. I have the taste buds of a five-year-old, so I really like fatty, salty, sweet stuff. I can get down to a 27" waist pretty quickly if I cut out the junk, but I end up looking tired and frail rather than lean. I saw some pictures of me when I was eating only healthy stuff and really pushing myself at the gym. To my horror, I looked like a corpse. I hate to say this, but for me, at least, it is a choice between having good abs or a pleasant face.

by Anonymousreply 8411/24/2012

30" waist - Jesus, you people are obese...

by Anonymousreply 8511/24/2012

I disagree, r83. He's still got it.

by Anonymousreply 8611/24/2012

I'm 6'1" in excellent shape and wear a size 32.

Is this a thread full of flat-assed queens? From the stats alone, some of you must be skeletal, or pre-pubescent.

I wouldn't trade my muscular ass and thighs for anything.

by Anonymousreply 8711/24/2012

I'm 53 and have lost 30 lbs. this year. I am 6' and weigh 161. My waist is 30". I love looking good in clothes again. I lost about 5" off my waist. However, according to my high tech scales @ Equinox, I'm underweight. 6.4% body fat is quite a bit underweight. I exercise every day and watch what I eat, but I lost .5 lb. after pigging out on Thanksgiving. My metabolism is in overdrive.

by Anonymousreply 8811/24/2012

Obviously there lots of fat cows on this thread!!!!

by Anonymousreply 9011/25/2012

Sorry, but anything below a size 32/34 waist on a grown man is extremely unattractive.

by Anonymousreply 9111/28/2012

I had about a 30" waste the day after Thanksgiving. Could barely flush the damn thing.

by Anonymousreply 9211/28/2012

Don't hate, sugar! It doesn't look good on you! PLUNK

by Anonymousreply 9512/01/2012

I have a 26' waist! I have a high metabolism and I have had four kids and still can't gain weight. It really sucks to have this problem and I actually want to gain weight. So many people make comments about the way I look. I am 31 years old and wear a size 3 in juniors pants. I eat more than most people I know but nothing helps at all. Maybe my metabolism will slow down as the years pass

by Anonymousreply 9602/07/2013

im 6'3 with a 34' waist. I was super-skinny (29' waist) until mid-20s. Then I got muscular and a little gut-y.

by Anonymousreply 9702/07/2013

49 with a 31" waist. Just natural.

by Anonymousreply 9802/07/2013

I was at one point. I was incredibly depressed and couldn't work up the motivation to cook or get food more than once a day, and even then, eating was a chore. Things are better now and I've since gained weight.

by Anonymousreply 9902/07/2013

[quote]My waist has been the same 30 inch size for 50 years. Eat what I want, never diet, and only occasionally exercise

BTW, I'm 3-foot 7-inches tall. In heels.

by Anonymousreply 10002/07/2013

I'm 6'2" with a waist that goes btwn 34 and 36 inches depending on what I eat. I'd like to get down to 33 or 32, but I am big boned, so I'd look ridiculous with anything less. No I'm not exactly an object of desire in the gay world, but I've got a monogamous bf who loves me just the way I am. How many of you 29-inch waisters can say that?

by Anonymousreply 10102/07/2013

Not anymore. But when I was I was very active, physically fit, hyper excited about life, and constantly running around all the time looking and finding sex.

Thank God those days are over. Now I can relax at home with a good book and eat.

by Anonymousreply 10202/07/2013

In 1994.

by Anonymousreply 10302/07/2013

Had a 28-30 until I started taking antidepressant meds, then I ballooned up to a 34. Back down to a 33.

by Anonymousreply 10402/07/2013

When I was in highschool I had a 28" waist. I hated it, could never find clothes that looked good. Then I finally started putting on some weight in my later years. Now I am 33 years old and I fluctuate between a 32" to 34" depending on the cut and how many cakes I've eaten. I prefer this size because I can find lots of clothes. I hated being skinny as people were always telling me to put on weight or thought there was something wrong with me, even though it was entirely my metabolism. I think it's part of the reason I am into cub type men now.

by Anonymousreply 10502/07/2013

I love r47 who's obviously hit a nerve with his cold, hard truths. Everyone knows he's right, and the beanpole look many here are describing is just not attractive.
