97 House GOPers Sign Letter Urging Obama To Pass On Rice At State

97 House Republicans signed a letter urging President Obama to pass on the possible nomination of U.N. ambassador Susan Rice as a replacement to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Monday, taking issue with Rice's involvement with the deadly attacks upon Americans in Benghazi, Libya, the Hill reports. If Obama decided to go forth with Rice at State, however, it would be up to the Senate to confirm her.

Where are the jobs? We were promised jobs by the 2010 House victors.

[bold]WHAT[/bold] involvement??!?! She read a fucking prepared statement based on what they knew at the time.

by Anonymousreply 211/19/2012

And Obama needs to give a rat's ass what Rethugs think because....

by Anonymousreply 311/19/2012

Most House Republicans would sign a letter urging Obama to pass on Karl Rove at State. They're not very bright, those House Republicans.

This crap needs to be slammed down hard now. There may be reasons to not feel Rice is appropriate but over Benghazi is not one of the rational ones.

by Anonymousreply 511/19/2012

Surely this is the biggest possible bump her chances of the job could get?

by Anonymousreply 611/19/2012

was this a "Dear colleague" letter? Because those usually take several weeks to get everyone signed on.

I guess it's different if it's a partisan matter.

I wish they'd post the names.

Obama needs to keep that pair he grew and not let the GOP castrate him again.

by Anonymousreply 811/19/2012

Why would the GOP be so against Rice anyways?

She has already done the job during the Bush administration.

by Anonymousreply 911/19/2012

Our Rice is much prettier than their gnarly toothed corporate whore in jackboots.

by Anonymousreply 1011/19/2012

If he does cave there better be something he's getting in return that is better than getting her appointed. Like a massive jobs bill I'd go for that.

by Anonymousreply 1111/19/2012

Susan Rice sucks.

by Anonymousreply 1211/19/2012

Anne Rice sucks.

by Anonymousreply 1311/19/2012

Who gives a shit what House Republicans think about a Democratic cabinet nomination?

by Anonymousreply 1411/19/2012

Minute Rice sucks.

by Anonymousreply 1511/19/2012

Oh, set it to the grand piano you closeted, lesbian hag(r12).

by Anonymousreply 1611/19/2012

Does Susan refer to Barack as her husband the way Condileeza referred to W.?

by Anonymousreply 1711/19/2012

These are all the loony tunes reps. The somewhat promising news is that there are 100+ other Republicans who obviously didn't sign.

by Anonymousreply 1811/19/2012

LOL at them pretending to be civil and cooperative.

by Anonymousreply 1911/19/2012

"Liberal" media: Again the Republican shut down the first option Obama offers...
