Matthew Mitcham: Crystal Meth Queen

Are there any famous gay men out there who are not completely fucked up? Matthew Mitcham admits to smoking meth before the Olympics.

by Anonymousreply 3011/21/2012

OMG. That really makes me sad. I thought he had it all: a handsome, buff, gentle and sweet Olympic gold-winning athlete who was out of the closet and proud.

by Anonymousreply 111/16/2012

Well, at least he still has big, hot nipples.

by Anonymousreply 211/16/2012

Jesus Christ.

I wonder if he's poz. (Is there any gay former tina addict who isn't?)

by Anonymousreply 311/16/2012

Love him.

by Anonymousreply 411/16/2012

call me

What is up with Ian Thorpe's weird eyelids.

by Anonymousreply 711/16/2012

Bitches, it's all about BALANCE; work hard, play hard. It's gotta be 50/50 all the time if you want to have your cake and eat it in the Fast Set, or else...

At any rate, this thread is useless without Mitcham's sex videos. Gay meth addiction involving a guy like Mitcham is NEVER without those videos!

by Anonymousreply 811/16/2012

Kids nowadays, hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 911/16/2012

R8 you can play hard WITHOUT using drugs. There is no reason to use drugs, especially something as hardcore as meth. Anyone still doing drugs in 2012 is a fucking moron. I'm so sick of fags turning to drugs when things aren't going their way. Guess what? It's called life and you have to sometimes deal with pain. Using drugs won't solve anything.

Amen, R10, amen!

by Anonymousreply 1111/16/2012

Miss Righteous at R10, your opinion may be appropriate regarding general life, but we did specify a little something called the "FAST SET" in which hedonism rules over common sense. But, you already knew that. Thanks for playing anyway!

by Anonymousreply 1211/16/2012

I'm totally down with playing hard, but crystal meth is no joke. I can't understand why anyone given what we know about it would ever even try it.

by Anonymousreply 1311/16/2012

When we say "playing hard" what are we referring to?

p.s- is it hard to believe a twinky blond could be a meth queen?

by Anonymousreply 1411/16/2012

"Playing hard" = touch football

by Anonymousreply 1511/16/2012

I'll admit I'm completely naive about these matters, but is it even feasible for someone to develop - and then beat - an addiction to crystal meth in the course of a calendar year?

by Anonymousreply 1611/16/2012

Yes, r16.

by Anonymousreply 1711/16/2012

Was he treated badly back in Sydney post-2008? Weren't there stories of him being denied endorsement deals due to his sexuality? Was he with that hot bf of his when he started the downward spiral?

by Anonymousreply 1811/16/2012

I heard horror stories about of how difficult it is to quit meth.

by Anonymousreply 1911/16/2012

I'm sorry for this young beautiful man.

by Anonymousreply 2011/17/2012

It's not like anyone wakes up and says hey, I think I'll get a drug addiction today. I'd really like te spend all my money, steal, overdose, and go into rehab. And not catch anything, if I'm lucky.

by Anonymousreply 2111/17/2012

Well, he does have to live among his fellow Sydneysiders, so this makes sense.

by Anonymousreply 2211/17/2012

WW for R10

by Anonymousreply 2311/17/2012

Crystal meth is for evangelical preachers!

by Anonymousreply 2411/18/2012

R21 but it's not the 60s, 70s or even 80s anymore. Everyone these days knows even if you casually try a drug, there is a chance you could become hooked after that first use. It doesn't matter if you're having a bad day, "partying", or just doing it for the hell of it. 1 try is all it takes for some people. Anyone who even tries drugs and takes that risk in 2012 is a fucking moron. There's no excuse for it. Now, I'm glad this guy is off meth, but those of you excusing his past use of it or saying "partying" is ok, you're idiots.

by Anonymousreply 2511/18/2012

I'd rather hang out with a meth queen than r10/r25 who is coated in smug.

by Anonymousreply 2611/18/2012

So nice that Datalounge has its own Nancy Reagan scold.

You probably think Refer Madness is a documentary.

by Anonymousreply 2711/18/2012

Mitcham seems like such a ray of sunshine in interviews and in his homemade music video performances on youtube. I'm really surprised to hear about his depression problems and issues with self-cutting and suicide attempts. I've always thought that being well accomplished at sports is good for building self-esteem in a young person, but apparently not in every case.

I can't find the 60 Minutes interview online yet, but here is a transcript of the segment.

by Anonymousreply 2811/19/2012

If he's quit meth, why is he still sucking dick in alleyways to score a fix?

by Anonymousreply 2911/19/2012

Here is his Google+ interview from Monday.
