Jason Gould, Barbra Streisand's Son, Sings 'Amazing,' Theme Song For Gay 'Scrooge And Marley' Film

Jason Gould, openly gay son of Barbra Streisand, performs the film's theme and special end credit song, "Amazing."

Quite a nice voice. Why hasn't he been singing publicly before just recently?

A-MA-ZING is my favorite word!

by Anonymousreply 111/15/2012

r1

Because of his trust fund.

by Anonymousreply 211/15/2012

Link is gone, thanks for nothing.

by Anonymousreply 311/15/2012

wait , barbra has a gay son ?

"You want another scuttle of coal, do ye?" Scrooge uttered sourly, fumbling at his ancient trouser buttons. "You know what you must do."

Crachit gulped, steeled himself and prepared his reluctant tongue to perform its ritual dance upon that aged and crabbed nether orifice.

amazing voice btw , we need an album from him.

by Anonymousreply 611/15/2012

OP, check this out.

by Anonymousreply 711/15/2012

Amazing...no.

by Anonymousreply 811/15/2012

We had a recent thread about this already. He could always sing. He just never told anyone. Even Barbra didn't know until recently.

by Anonymousreply 911/15/2012

I'm more curious about this one, R7. Looking forward to Miss Dionne's personal commentary on this for DL.

by Anonymousreply 1011/15/2012

Seems to be working, R3

by Anonymousreply 1111/15/2012

If I am being honest, I find him breathy an he has minimal vibrato. He is lucky he has a famous mom who CAN sing and has connections.

by Anonymousreply 1211/15/2012

Which side did he get the gay gene(s) from, Mom's or Dad's?

by Anonymousreply 1311/15/2012

Okay, Jason seems like a nice enough guy, talented, no scandals, etc. And his own mother has only recently discovered that he can sing.

He's 45. What the hell has he been doing with his life for the past 20-25 other than the occasional dabbling in movie 10 years ago, a couple of short films and humming tunes in his bedroom?

Get a job. Put out an album. You have talent, kid.

by Anonymousreply 1411/15/2012

R1 It's prononounced "uh-MAHZ-ing." You're welcome.

by Anonymousreply 1511/15/2012

[quote] And his own mother has only recently discovered that he can sing.

I call bullshit on Streisand's claim that she only recently discovered her son's musical abilities. It seems more likely that Babs finally feels secure enough about herself to share the stage with her sister or to allow her son to sing in public.

by Anonymousreply 1611/15/2012

He has a good voice. He needs about a year of voice lessons to polish up and get control of his breathing.

Raw talent yes.

by Anonymousreply 1711/15/2012

Jason went off script last week in LA and Mama was not happy.

by Anonymousreply 1811/15/2012

R18. That was funny banter between Jason and Barbra. She had a good laugh too.

by Anonymousreply 1911/15/2012

They share a similar singing style. Nice sound, but even the 'soulful' moments are carefully thought out.

He needs to listen to more of Rupert Wainwright and less of Josh Groban.

by Anonymousreply 2011/17/2012

I'd guess that if Barbra Streisand was your mother, you might be a little intimidated by the idea of following in her footsteps.

by Anonymousreply 2111/17/2012

oops meant Rufus

by Anonymousreply 2211/17/2012

He does not have to listen to Rufus Wainwright. No one has to. He already sounds better than him.

Is he really 45? He looks young for 45.

by Anonymousreply 2311/17/2012

He's got a nice voice, but he's too breathy, and the song is schlock.

by Anonymousreply 2411/17/2012

He's very charming and funny in that scene with his mom at the Hollywood Bowl--he comes across as slightly self-deprecating and very sweet.

by Anonymousreply 2511/17/2012

Average voice and he's not attractive at all.

by Anonymousreply 2611/17/2012

Beautiful voice, Beautiful song

by Anonymousreply 2711/17/2012

He's astoundingly talented. I love love love his singing. The songs, the arrangements, his voice, his phrasing and his big gorgeous fucking nose. I want him to sing to me then snog the shit out of him.

by Anonymousreply 2811/30/2012

his voice???

by Anonymousreply 2911/29/2013

R16 nailed it.

by Anonymousreply 3011/30/2013

Why isn't Jason Gould a singer--out there working and making use of his quite good talent?

And while I love Barbra, I don't believe for a minute that she just discovered Jason had such a good voice. Glad to see that she's performing with her son and her sister, Roslyn Kind. The whole family have great voices.
