Bush was a fucking awful President and it felt like death when he was reelected.

But he won, and that was America's choice, and I and everyone who voted for Kerry picked up the pieces and moved on with our lives, bitter and heartbroken, but thinking about tomorrow instead of yesterday. Certainly we were not threatening to secede or fire employees who voted for Bush. The Republican reaction to Obama's fair reelection is a shining example at how grossly misinformed, racist and selfish these ingrates are.

Get over yourselves, rightwing. Pull your shit together, stop living in a vision of an ideal past that never really existed, and stop blaming others for your loss. Romney didn't lose the election, y'all did!

by Anonymousreply 4211/28/2012

Go fuck yourself, R1.

by Anonymousreply 211/12/2012

Maybe it's because we're still dealing with Hurricane Sandy but the election is no longer the topic of conversation with anyone I know. I'm pretty sure both sides moved on last week.

by Anonymousreply 311/12/2012

r1=bitter Freeper, right on time. Thanks for making my point.

by Anonymousreply 411/12/2012

Well, I think a lot of Americans said "we want to move to Canada" or some other place at the time that respected gay rights or didn't believe in the Iraq war or torture...

But that's where the difference lies.

There is no place for these Republicans to go, except back in time, or to the Third Reich (which of course they like to pretend was left-wing fascism since "socialism" is in the title).

by Anonymousreply 511/12/2012

Bush didn't win. The Rethugs stole Ohio. Just a mention. And that made it suck even harder.

by Anonymousreply 611/12/2012

Just part of the agenda, son.

Reagan set the stage for GBI.

GBI set the stage for Clinton

Clinton set the stage for GBII.

GBII set the stage for Obama.

Now, Obama is setting the stage for Jeb Bush III.

If you know the agenda, it's quite easy to predict who will win. Obama's in to continue the Bush agenda while effectively silencing the Liberals and silence/fool the Blacks into acceptance of the establishment.

Next up: Jeb. Mark my words.

by Anonymousreply 711/12/2012

[quote]There is no place for these Republicans to go

Russia, Poland, Serbia... there are plenty of white, homophobic and racist countries these people could move too.

by Anonymousreply 811/12/2012

Secession or lay offs no, but I did think about moving to Spain. Of course I kept this to myself and a few friends without making a public spectacle out of it. Not to mention the fact that I stayed here to fight on and make sure that would never happen again.

Have to say I'm glad I did. But we have a long way to go. Congratulations, Obama. I gave my support wholeheartedly. And you have been a pretty good president, as presidents go.

Now close Guantanamo and lead better!

by Anonymousreply 911/12/2012

What does that have to do with the topic, R10? Or are you just trolling?

by Anonymousreply 1111/12/2012

R10 made a video stating how she worked her ASS OFF posting links and NOBODY BOTHERED TO SHARE THEM!

She's TIRED of it!!

by Anonymousreply 1211/12/2012

lol, R13, just start your own thread if you want people to address the points you're posting. Right now, you're just trolling (but since you have the Truth, you think trolling is justified, apparently).

by Anonymousreply 1411/12/2012

R10 You're not a fact checker. All you did was copy and paste that from a website that is the dumping ground of lunacy and tin foil hat nut jobs. Passing that off as something you wrote brands you a liar. And your source brands you as a kook. Now run along before you're sent to a FEMA detention camp.

by Anonymousreply 1511/12/2012

[quote]Promise: Obama promised to end the US occupation of Iraq and get US troops out by the time he became president.

Really? He had the power to do that BEFORE he was president? Damn, that guy's good!

by Anonymousreply 1611/12/2012

OP, get a fucking blog. Most of us here knew Obama would win just like almost all of us supported him.

You posting thread after thread after fucking thread on something people have been literally beat over the head with for 18 straight months is neither productive or helping to advance any cause.

Give it a fucking rest and stop littering the board with the politics threads. It's overkill and it's pissing people off.

by Anonymousreply 1711/12/2012

Ha ha, looks like the sore loser is back at R17.

by Anonymousreply 1811/12/2012

not as much of an Obama fan as I was in '08, but so relieved that Romney's not headed to DC

I welcome political threads. I know it's in the subtitle, but there's a surfeit of pointless bitchery on DL.

I come here for a few laughs AND to see what else my brothers are discussing.

by Anonymousreply 1911/12/2012

Hey R17, why don't you bump some more porn star threads? Maybe people will forget all about politics.

by Anonymousreply 2011/12/2012

People like r10 who post shit like that make everyone's head hurt. A bunch of crap that nobody even READS, you assclown because it is pedantic shit with zero cred and that no one even UNDERSTANDS. What IS all that shit? And who would take the time to TYPE all that, or even cut and paste it?

Rachel Maddow NAILED the major points in her "rant" the other night and that is what the "truth," is.

by Anonymousreply 2111/12/2012

For the billionth time, bush was NOT elected he was SElected by a corrupt Supreme Court which granted him the presidency in 2000. He did it again in 2004 by vote manipulation and suppression in Ohio and Florida especially. It's amazing how many people, even those who vigorously protested bush's selection, are willing to rationalize the whole thing now as if the brainwashing by TV pundits and talking heads has done its job. BUSH LOST BOTH TIMES AND AS A RESULT WE IN THE UNITED STATES LOST AND THE WORLD LOST.

by Anonymousreply 2211/12/2012

People like r10 don't realize that even if you are not Obama's biggest supporter, you still wouldn't vote for Romney. Election isn't so much about love as it is about hate.

GOP voters don't necessarily love Romney, they just hated Obama more. So Romney got their vote.

Likewise, many liberals who are none to happy with Obama's first term, hate Romney even more.

Of course, there are many who love and agree with Obama on almost everything and voted for him just as their are Romney fans who love the guy and voted for him.

by Anonymousreply 2311/12/2012

[quote]Why don't you check out what I just posted instead of blindly accepting everything you hear and read from the corporate media.

Every time I read something like this about how THE MEDIA ISN'T REPORTING THIS or THE MEDIA IS CONSPIRING TO HIDE THIS, it usually comes with the exhortation "See for yourself!"...

... and then a link to some mainstream media site like ABC News.

by Anonymousreply 2411/12/2012

[quote] Stop being so willfully ignorant. It doesn't become you.

Copy and pasting the rantings of a cellar dwelling tin hat kook and presenting it as your own writing doesn't become you.

by Anonymousreply 2511/12/2012

So many angry posts about how angry the losers must be.

by Anonymousreply 2611/12/2012

R15, thanks so much for that link. That is some *crazy* shit. I'm sitting through a video about the "37 items you must have to survive a disaster."

Since Obama and the Liberals have put us in a precarious position, and there's a disaster coming (not sure what one), and since protesting labor unions are probably blocking the stores, HOW WILL WE SURVIVE?!

Yada yada liberals are evil yada yada rebuild the country without all that liberal crap yada yada liberals are greedy and lazy yada yada you'll be admired by friends and family yada yada liberals are cowardly freeloaders etc. etc.

Seriously crazy.

by Anonymousreply 2711/12/2012

R10's a sore loser. Period.

by Anonymousreply 2811/12/2012

bump!

by Anonymousreply 2911/27/2012

Speak for yourself. Many of us are still in mourning fore what this country choose on November 6. This is not the country that i've grown to love over the pat 52 years. This is a changed and foreign country to me and many of my fellow citizens. Where are the American values? American values died on November 6.

by Anonymousreply 3011/28/2012

[quote]American values died on November 6.

Not enough cheese in the state of Wisconsin to go with that whine.

by Anonymousreply 3111/28/2012

How is beating up a lesbian at thanksgiving about "American values" r30?

by Anonymousreply 3211/28/2012

[quote]his is a changed and foreign country to me and many of my fellow citizens. Where are the American values? American values died on November 6.

I keep hearing and seeing that, but WHAT SPECIFICALLY has changed? Are your taxes higher? Have they come into your house and taken your guns? Have they stopped you from voting? Have they stopped you from posting inane drivel on the internet?

by Anonymousreply 3311/28/2012

This is how Gay Canadians feel today under Stephen Harper.

by Anonymousreply 3411/28/2012

I felt pretty confident that Obama was going to win pretty much the entire cycle - most of the time I was mystified where these polls were coming from that kept showing them in a dead heat, and then realized it's in everyone's best financial interests if they make elections appear to be neck and neck horse races. If you can tune out the noise, elections are entirely different (and boring) exercises.

But the OP's point still stands - yeah, I did the whole "I should move to Canada" thing when Bush won the second time - I think a lot of people did soul searching then, and probably now, about whether they can stomach being an American anymore. This is a good thing to do. The different being that conservatives seem to want to take entire portions of the country with them, which is childish and ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 3511/28/2012

Its something intangible r33. With Obama in the White House this doesn't feel like America anymore. Hits presence makes me very dad for a country I used to love. Those who voted for him have a lot to answer for and you will pay dearly.

by Anonymousreply 3611/28/2012

R30 here is over on the Susan Rice thread repeatedly asking:

[quote]Why is everything about race with you people?

by Anonymousreply 3711/28/2012

[quote] you will pay dearly.

We already paid with 8 years of Shrub.

by Anonymousreply 3811/28/2012

I would gladly take Bush for another 8 years. At least he was American.

by Anonymousreply 3911/28/2012

If you're waiting for sympathy, don't hold your breath.

On second thought, go right ahead.

by Anonymousreply 4011/28/2012

I don't recall anyone trying to kill themselves or someone else when Bush got reelected. What a bunch of hysterical, histrionic drama queens.

by Anonymousreply 4111/28/2012

omg r39!!
