Celebrities Who Have Been Successful in Multiple Professions

I was looking through a book containing Vogue covers over the past 100+ years, and it was surprising how many covers featured Renee Russo. I've always known her as an actress (Tin Cup, Lethal Weapon 3 & 4, Thor, etc.)...but I would imagine that having several Vogue covers qualified her as a supermodel.

Who are some other celebrities who have been successful in multiple professions? Not semi-successful in multiple professions either...I'm talking about reaching the top in multiple fields (at one point Renee Russo was one of the top actresses in Hollywood even though she's no longer as famous).

I'd agree with Liza. In addition to being an EGOT, she has a fashion and jewelry line, works with brain damaged children and medaled in gymnastics at last years senior olympics.

Let's differentiate between actually being SUCCESSFUL in something versus licensing your name and likeness to hawk perfumes and cheaply-made clothing. So people like Britney wouldn't count.

No need to apologize, R24.

by Anonymousreply 2511/11/2012

There are dozens of celebrities (singers and actors) who had or have their own fashion line, like Raven Symone.

Let's get a bit naughty with Simon Rex. He did porn (solo jerk off scenes) at the beginning, MTV VJ, and then actor on TV (What I like about you) and movies (Scary Movie).

Steve Martin, Carrie Fisher, and Owen Wilson are all arguably better at writing scripts than they are at acting.

Same for Ben Stiller and Ben Affleck as directors.
