Whatever happened to Staten Island?

Do we still care?

by Anonymousreply 2906/29/2014

The media doesn't...

by Anonymousreply 111/11/2012

Solidly Republican... so obviously they're screaming about needing help from the federal govt.

by Anonymousreply 211/11/2012

I wish I coud say I cared in the first place ... but I don't.

by Anonymousreply 311/11/2012

I've never been there, but I whenever I think about it, I remember Grace Adler's immortal line, "I love a good meal and I love a good dump."

by Anonymousreply 411/11/2012

Yes I do care. It has full of 'straight' guidos that can easily be had ;P

by Anonymousreply 511/11/2012

Staten Island has been trying for years to break away from NYC. It really isn't part of the city but the Demmycraps won't let them.

Same troll, same copy/paste. And to the Datalounge people, My copy and paste is a snapshot of tonight's timeline.

He's stirring up shit in these threads and dumping cookies, so I'm showing you where he is.

And to my fellow REAL Dataloungers, please let's jump on each and every one of these idiot posts not with reactions or anger or even acknowledgement of their "argument" just keep repeating the essence of what I am posting. Let's turn our collective backs to them and say nothing except "Your shit don't work NO MORE".

Pasting this from the other thread:

(Hoping this troll takes meds and gets some sense)

Yes we have a full-on "professional" troll on here tonight. Only he's too stupid to know how he sticks out like a sore thumb.

Let's see, a week of us partying on here with not much of a peep from "them". Suddenly tonight we have what seems to be 5 or 6 different conservatives on here (all with the same script) acting like it's just business as usual with their shtick?

Look bub, it's so very very VERY obvious you are on here dumping cookies and hiding from troll-dar. It's giving you away as pure-troll. At least if you didn't try to hide your identity we could give you the benefit of the doubt as to being simply stupid and confused. But the cookie-dumping tells us what you're really up to.

You can't possibly getting paid for this so it must be personal for you.

Well your game isn't going to work here at all anymore. We don't care about your lying, your race-baiting, or any of your other sophomoric tricks.

Aren't you embarrassed for yourself? I mean, what kind of life do you lead that you come on to a website and pretend to be different people and try to say something to get a rise out of people? Is that what you call doing something productive with your life?

You know you're really cheating yourself. Think about it this way, all the time you spend here is presumably to bring you joy (joy derived from making other people upset or angry or whatever).

Why don't you skip the middleman, and go find something that actually directly makes you feel better? You know, like reading something not from the reality-defying bubble of the NeoCons.

Then you can quit wasting our time (ours and yours). Think about it, ok?

I think Obama won Staten Island.

Today Rachel Ray had a 5-Borough Firemen Cooking Contest. Pete from Tottenville (Engine 157) on Staten Island was the hottest guy. His chili didn't win.

When the Verrazano Bridge was being built, locals called it The Guinea Gangplank, referring to Italians who were coming over from Brooklyn.

by Anonymousreply 1011/12/2012

FEMA and the Red Cross showed up in droves. End of story. All you can expect now is the occasional human interest piece.

by Anonymousreply 1111/12/2012

Republican Michael Grimm was re-elected to Congress.

Staten Island has changed c a LOT in just the past 3 years. Tons of gays are moving there. It is becoming the new gay mecca.

by Anonymousreply 1606/28/2014

IN theory, given it's location, shouldn't it be a great place to live? I'm surprised at least a few hip neighborhoods and development didn't spring up. I guess the residents and politicians block any of that. Any interesting areas at all?

by Anonymousreply 1706/28/2014

Which neighborhoods have the best Manhattan views? Are they all filled with cops and firemen?

by Anonymousreply 1806/28/2014

Yes, this is accurate.

by Anonymousreply 1906/29/2014

Why did they never connect it to the rest of the city with a subway line?

by Anonymousreply 2006/29/2014

A lot of New Yorkers go there to take their driver's test because it is easier to pass there then whatever Harlem place they take you up in the city.

Todt Hill is where the mafia people are.

And it's the birthplace of Alyssa Milano.

by Anonymousreply 2606/29/2014

Staten Island is incredibly diverse, hills, beaches, forests and parks. Lots of horrible urban blight but still some really nice areas as well.

by Anonymousreply 2706/29/2014

R14 What a nasty little hoodrat. And isn't it ironic that he calls them f&ggots, yet tells them to suck his dick. Talk about a paradox.
