Bill Maher: $1 million for Obama

Brad Pitt: $100,000 for gay marriage

Steve Ballmer (Microsoft Surface): $100,000 for gay marriage

Me: $1,500 for Obama

Apple is notability absent for all its pandering to the Gay community.

by KKKarl Rovereply 211/10/2012

Me. It wasn't much money, but Sherrod Brown, Tim Kaine, Tammy Baldwin, Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand, and President Obama were the ones I gave money to, and they all won.

And also, a HUGE thank you to Amazon's Jeff Bezos, who gave $2.5 million to gay marriage in Washington.

You forgot Bloomberg's super PAC. Most of the candidates he supported across the US won. He donated 250k each to the three states that had marriage equality ballot measures to help them. His PAC supports environmental issues, gay marriage rights, and gun control.

Me! I donated $50 to Obama. That was all I could afford.

by KKKarl Rovereply 511/10/2012

The list is NOT comprehensive at all. I don't know if any Apple execs helped with the gay marriage fight.

I gave a total of $640 to Obama. I guess that's a nice long weekend in LA or NYC or somewhere, but honestly, watching the Republican meltdown over the last few days has done my spirit more good than any long weekend ever could. Money well spent.

Did we ever bump the thread from the troll who said he would be bumping it Tuesday Night after President Romney had been annointed? Sorry, it's been a busy couple of days for me.

Planned Parenthood was perhaps the biggest winner of the 2012 election. And this piggybacks off their resounding win over the Susan G. Komen foundation last year. Cecile Richards is kicking ass as PP's president.

Millions and millions of Americans donated to Democratic campaigns around the country.

And we all got our money's worth!

by KKKarl Rovereply 1011/10/2012

There's a rumor going around that one of the chief donors to Washington's "yes on weed" proposition was (of all people) Rick Steves.

by KKKarl Rovereply 1111/10/2012

R6 Isn't Apple CEO Tim Cook gay?

by KKKarl Rovereply 1211/10/2012

About $250 for me; money well spent.

Add another $20 for McCaskill.

by KKKarl Rovereply 1311/10/2012

R11. Yes, it's known that Steves is a huge stoner!

Former Republican Governor Linda "George Bush is the greatest President ever" Lingle lost her run to replace Senator Akaka here in Hawaii.

The same Republican who VETOED civil unions.

Hope she and Sarah Palin run off together and never to be heard from again.

me $35 for Obama

by KKKarl Rovereply 1611/10/2012

Whoever got the video of Mitt's "47%" speech. Whatever he/she paid for supplies, access, etc., was money well spent!

by KKKarl Rovereply 1711/10/2012

Me: $1,100 to Obama for America, $200 to the DNC, $200 to the DCCC. I've been unemployed since June, have no job prospects, and about 40K to my name. More than half of what I gave to Obama was after I lost my job. It was worth every penny!

by KKKarl Rovereply 1811/10/2012

I gave $250.00

Yay! Us!!!!

by KKKarl Rovereply 1911/10/2012

R11, that's not so much rumor as well known fact.

by KKKarl Rovereply 2011/10/2012

Somewhere on YouTube there's a great clip of Rick Steves giving an interview at Hempfest, and he's completely baked outta his head. I mean, he can hardly talk.

I can't find it, but it's funny.

Got plenty back when I think of how Ted Nugent, Hank Williams Jr., Kelsey Grammer, Ann Coulter, Gary Sinise, and Donald Trump must have reacted. Poor, rich Donald! Even had Obama lost, Brad Pitt would have got his money's worth. It will be a tax write-off; his publicity, and subsequent goodwill in the gay community and deflection from his perfume commercial fiasco, and his ridiculous furniture designs. He knew going in, it seems, because he's very image-conscious!
