MSNBC just reported that Obama/Biden won 76% of the LGBT vote. Who were the 24%?
|by Anonymous||reply 49||11/11/2012|
Those Log Cabin/GOP Proud fools and your ordinary, ignorant, LGBT racist who blames the blacks for not having empathy for the gays current plight.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||11/09/2012|
Shelly Danker, for one.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||11/09/2012|
How many of them were also Hispanic and Jewish, and part of the 30% of those demographic groups who also voted for Romney?
Not to suggest, an inordinate number of gays who voted for Romney were Jewish, but merely to point out that "it takes all kinds" to make a very strange country where people frequently vote in shocking ways, OP.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||11/09/2012|
Fuck, I am not quite sure of that. Hell, even Michael Lucas didn't vote for Romney.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||11/09/2012|
|by Anonymous||reply 6||11/09/2012|
It's the same segment that produces and views cream pie videos.
Seriously, you'd think gay people would be smarter; we're not.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||11/09/2012|
I don't recall where I saw it, but that remainder was split Republican/third party.
I've also seen 80/10/10 elsewhere.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||11/09/2012|
PUMAs still bitter about 2008. Racists.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||11/09/2012|
Yes, remember that part of the 24% are Green Party, Socialist and other party affiliations. I know several gays and lesbians that do not vote either R or D.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||11/09/2012|
Exactly r3, not to mention a much higher percentage of women (44%) voted for Romney than any of those other subcategories. In fact, Obama lost the white women vote. So say whatever you want about gays here as long as you remember it applies to fraus considerably more.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||11/09/2012|
Judging from posts leading up to the elections, I'd say a large percentage are regulars here on Datalounge.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||11/09/2012|
R3, Most of the Jews that voted for MR were Orthodox or Chassidic, NOT Reformed or Conservative. You're essentially saying that 30% of Christians voted for MR, without distinguishing between very observant Evangelicals and say, Unitarians who rarely attend church. There is likewise a HUGE difference in values and priorities in voting.
I'm sure that most of the gay Jews that voted for MR did so because they chose to identify with the 1%, and their economic policies, even if they're no where near that income level. I've personally had many run-ins with non-religious Jewish Republicans who are gay, especially those that write for the popular "liberal" Las Vegas Newspapers, and own and run the top straight nightclubs. They disdain anyone who is not economically at their level, just as the straight whites who voted for MR do. IMHO they all lack sympathy for those less fortunate, or who've endured tragedy. Also that they're self-image of being part of the truly wealthy is the most vital issue in their life.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||11/09/2012|
Unitarians rarely attend church? Uh, no.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||11/09/2012|
r7 made me laugh
|by Anonymous||reply 15||11/09/2012|
OK, this is me being naive and stoopid again, but exactly what is a cream pie video? I googled it and I see that it is something x-rated, but I didn't want to click on any of the links because I am in class right now.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||11/09/2012|
R14, I know that there ARE many Unitarians that regularly attend church. So many posters on DL keep trying to lump ALL Jews together, as a voting block. I was just trying to provide a comparative example of Christians, of the most fundie and 3 times a week church-goer, to the far liberal Unitarian who stopped attending church years ago. One would not normally assume that both extremes think alike, and of course there are many who identify as Christian in the middle range.

|by Anonymous||reply 19||11/09/2012|
I am Jewish and was not lumping all Jews into one category. Or lumping any demographic group into one stereotype. My point was that each "broad" demographic group includes various sects, factions and beliefs.
And just as that is true with Latinos, Jews, and women, it is also true with gay people.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||11/09/2012|
Gays are often very, very damaged people.
I just discovered Shelly L. Dankert yesterday. She's the LIVING END, n'est-ce pas?
|by Anonymous||reply 21||11/09/2012|
Here in Liberal Chicago, they are all the Catholic queens who are "straight-acting" and play darts and softball and are still closeted with their families at age 50.
I just walked away from them at parties when they'd start talking politics.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||11/09/2012|
"they are all the Catholic queens who are "straight-acting" and play darts and softball and are still closeted with their families at age 50. "
Put a Roman collar on them and you just described the entire Catholic clergy and hierarchy.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||11/09/2012|
Yeah r24, whatever freeper.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||11/09/2012|
Bitch please at R24. If I had a fucking nickel for every time I heard one of you lame ass closet cases spewing that garbage, I'd be part of the 1%.
Try a new schtick, for Christ's fucking sake.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||11/09/2012|
The gays who vote for Repugs are lap dogs, douchebags, Uncle Tom subservient assholes who somehow have convinced themesleves that only they matter and will somehow benefit from Repug discriminatory policies.
People like the Log Cabin Repugs will tell you that they are not "one-issue" voters, meaning they don't just vote on gay issues. But in fact, they are one-issue voters. They reduce everything to economics and their own personal welfare. They never recognize that issues of equality also lead to sound economic policies.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||11/09/2012|
Maybe some gun-totin' rural lesbians as well? e.g Large Marge
|by Anonymous||reply 28||11/09/2012|
I'll bet that too R4, wealthy and selfish & greedy as all get out.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||11/09/2012|
Racist fool at R3, 70% of Jews voted for Obama. American Jews are generally Democratic, as are most Latinos.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||11/09/2012|
You are a freeper, you told us you're a freeper. Would you rather the more polite term Republican? It's all the same, freeper.
|by Anonymous||reply 32||11/10/2012|
To R32 - I took the time to lookup a definition for "freeper" since that's one of the names I'm called, sometimes as many as three times in a short, witty post.
"knuckle dragging, mouth breathing, foam at the mouth, rabid dog, conservative nutcase who spends time between killing small animals posting on the Conservative Republican Porn site freerepublic.com.
Lead by king nutcase Jim Robinson, also known as Rimjob, these bizarre freaks spend their days franticly masterbating over pictures of Reagan, Rush Limbaugh, and their Bush Christ, and spewing the daily talking points from the Reich Wing."
I'm guessing this would be your way of posting an opposing view. Got it now. Thanks.

They were likely white.
White men voted 35% for Obama, 62% for Romney t White women voted 42% for Obama, 56% for Romney
|by Anonymous||reply 35||11/11/2012|
When the most emotion you ever received from your father was when he was beating you for once again being found in your mother's shoes and make-up, Mitt Romney represented a chance to reconnect with our distant dad.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||11/11/2012|
I bet Willard's gay son voted for his dad
|by Anonymous||reply 37||11/11/2012|
Bye, R38!! Be well. You'll never get it.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||11/11/2012|
Bye, r38. Please DO let the door hit you on the way out.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||11/11/2012|
r36 gets it
|by Anonymous||reply 41||11/11/2012|
racist gay people
|by Anonymous||reply 42||11/11/2012|
R38 considers everyday hatred of gays to be "moderate".
|by Anonymous||reply 43||11/11/2012|
Also, I eat dogshit and rape babies.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||11/11/2012|
|by Anonymous||reply 45||11/11/2012|
Mitt legitimately raped Rafalca, and thats how I was born.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||11/11/2012|
I personally know five. One voted green, the other four for Romney. I had a lengthy conversation with one of them over the summer about his political views and he said that marriage equality and LGBT rights would come in time regardless of who was in the White House and that the economy was more important at this juncture. He also went on about Log Cabins as if that would make me see his point of view more. Mind you both he and his partner are on disability and his partner suffers from MS. They are also currently living in subsidized housing. How in the hell they reconcile that with being Republicans I cannot understand.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||11/11/2012|
It seem all the poor Republican are on some sort of welfare.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||11/11/2012|
"I have come to the realization that while the gay community wants me to look to the left, you all will never will look to the right."
When the right sports a sane candidate like Nelson Rockefeller or Dwight Eisenhower, I'll consider it. But as long as the right keeps nominating dirtbags and pathological liars like Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, George w. Bush, Rick Perry, Sarah Palin, Rick Santorum and that crazy bitch from Minnesota and her closeted fag husband, I'll continue to look to the left, thank you very much.
