Will Republicans Look To Canada On How The Conservative Government Achieved Power By Courting The Minority Community?

For years the Liberal Party of Canada keep power by building a large and loyal following among immigrants. Then they started to take them for granted by assuming they would always have this group in their back pocket.

Conservatives got the message many years ago that unless the Conservatives found ways of getting non-whites to vote for them, the so-called New Canadians, the Liberal Party would continue to dominate federal politics.

And so the Conservative worked tirelessly to build bridges to the various ethnic communities, which the Liberals began, taking for granted, seeing them as Liberal franchises. One way was targeting every single ethnic newspaper and networks, and bypassing the so-called national networks.

And now we are stuck with the Conservatives.

The problem with Liberals is that their party stands for absolutely nothing these days. I used to vote Liberal until 4-5 years ago when I switched my vote to NDP.

OP, your post is idiotic. The minorities in Canada didn't vote for Harper and the conservatives.

Harper has certainly won over some older, conservative, new Canadians but there's a vast untapped youth vote that transcends cultural background. So the key for the Liberals is to tap into that: get new voters out to the polls the way Obama has. Justin Trudeau has a good shot of galvanizing the youth vote because, like Obama, he represents something fresh, new & idealistic.

And remember, Canadian voters are not as locked into their voting patterns as Americans. We're more flexible. Even Alberta's demographics have changed over the last five years.
