What made you happy today?

In the midst of all the politics and the storm on the east coast, let's post something that made us smile today.

I found a new sushi joint with a super hot waiter.

by Anonymousreply 18512/06/2012

I got a gold belt in karate today.

by Anonymousreply 111/03/2012

Having nothing to do, and no where to go today. Bliss.

by Anonymousreply 211/03/2012

Electoral College polling numbers.

by Anonymousreply 311/03/2012

Freshly ground coffee and a new French press.

by Anonymousreply 411/03/2012

I watched the PBS broadcast of "Candide". Paul Groves is kind of sexy. The show made me happy.

by Anonymousreply 511/03/2012

by Anonymousreply 611/03/2012

It's the weekend so I get to have toast!! With Butter!!! Oh Boy oh boy!!!

by Anonymousreply 711/03/2012

I was working in a Red Cross shelter when in walked 3 FEMAstuds--Americorps members whose sole purpose appears to be to stand around looking pretty wearing blues jackets that say "FEMA Corps." This was in addition to the National Guardsmen who called me "sir." It's a good thing Mama was not around. She would have fainted.

by Anonymousreply 811/03/2012

Nothing, OP. Nothing EVER makes me happy!!!! ARE YOU HAPPY NOW, OP???!!!!

by Anonymousreply 911/03/2012

by Anonymousreply 1011/03/2012

I'm drinking a cold pint of TruMoo Chocolate 1% Lowfat Milk.

by Anonymousreply 1111/03/2012

I made the most amazing pot of corn and clam chowder. It's amazing and I get it all to myself.

by Anonymousreply 1211/03/2012

Watching a movie called "Mondays in the Sun" about the life of a bunch of unemployed Spanish guys and their trials and tribulations. Funny and thoughtful. Javier Bardem is in it, almost unrecognisable with huge facial hair.

by Anonymousreply 1311/03/2012

At Babies R Us buying a gift for an upcoming shower, I saw a card that said 'A Star is Born'. It's the little things, I guess.

by Anonymousreply 1411/03/2012

Stoli, Eddie. Lovely Stoli.

by Anonymousreply 1511/03/2012

Trying my hand at a Boston butt in my slowcooker for some pulled pork sandwiches to eat tomorrow and next week.

Got my inspiration to try it here on the DL recently.

So far so good. My apt. smells great.

by Anonymousreply 1611/03/2012

My little dog.

by Anonymousreply 1711/03/2012

I saw Perks of Being a Wallflower with a friend and now I'm hanging out with my dog. I'm deciding never to be totally stressed out again.

by Anonymousreply 1811/03/2012

Well, nothing. Maybe tomorrow something will make me happy.

by Anonymousreply 1911/03/2012

Took my lab to the beach. He cried with excitement the entire way there. When he's happy, I'm happy.

by Anonymousreply 2011/03/2012

Electricity, heat, hot water, access to so many things. Not dreading coming home, for a change.

by Anonymousreply 2111/03/2012

The three friends who have been staying with me since Tuesday just went home. Power was returned. Oh joy!

by Anonymousreply 2211/03/2012

r8, totally hot. Studly National Guardsmen...yum.

As for me, made a delish omelette for breakfast & then watched Michigan win with their backup quarterback. Beautiful fall weather here in Colorado has been an added bonus. Feel very spoiled in light of Sandy's aftermath in the East.

by Anonymousreply 2311/03/2012

Today, I had an "everything" flagel, with smoked salmon, cucumbers and red onion. Problems? What problems?

by Anonymousreply 2411/03/2012

I woke up sober and without any desires to use...Also, I am happy due to that Pollo Loco burrito.

by Anonymousreply 2511/03/2012

That were one day closer to getting this election over!

by Anonymousreply 2611/03/2012

Nothing yet, but the day's not over either.

by Anonymousreply 2711/03/2012

Hasn't happened yet.

by Anonymousreply 2811/03/2012

My simple life. Life is beautiful when you got rid of all the complicated shit society tells you to burden yourself with (like overly ambitious career, big fortune, tons of fake friends, going out and spending money, be in a relationship at all costs, etc.).

by Anonymousreply 2911/03/2012

I Skyped with my boyfriend AND received a card from him in the mail

by Anonymousreply 3011/03/2012

R25, good for you. Keep it up.

by Anonymousreply 3111/03/2012

Spectacular fall weather in the deep south...just perfect.

by Anonymousreply 3211/03/2012

[quote] I'm deciding never to be totally stressed out again

Nice decision. Did it have something to do with seeing that movie?

by Anonymousreply 3311/03/2012

R29, I agree.

by Anonymousreply 3411/03/2012

R29, I'm trying to get there. Thanks for your post, I needed to see that today.

I have a wonderful, if simple life. Sadly, I am sometimes plagued with thoughts that I don't make "enough" money or have a "good enough" career, etc. I will appreciate my kind partner, house and happy, simple life.

by Anonymousreply 3511/03/2012

I'm kind of bummed out actually because a ghost (or poltergeist or whatever) stole my frozen yogurt. It's not in the freezer, or the garbage, or the refrigerator, or even melted in a cabinet. A quart container has just disappeared.

by Anonymousreply 3611/03/2012

maybe it was your drunken bf

by Anonymousreply 3711/03/2012

I met a guy I used to work with, two weeks after quitting the job. It was nice because you always say let's stay in touch.. and we did. Nothing sexual. Just good company.

This, seriously, is a very important thread. I had a shrink once who told me no matter how bad it was, to write down one thing every day that made me happy... or some positive emotion. It built up to a good list and was a good reminder it's not all bad.

by Anonymousreply 3811/03/2012

R36, you should post here every day then. I will too.

by Anonymousreply 3911/03/2012

R36, does your boyfriend come home drunk by any chance?

by Anonymousreply 4011/03/2012

I have no bf, drunken or otherwise. I had one bowl of the yogurt and it was pretty good! Oh well ... second thing that's "disappeared" recently.

by Anonymousreply 4111/03/2012

R36 and R39, I will too.

by Anonymousreply 4211/03/2012

Oooops, I meant R38

by Anonymousreply 4311/03/2012

by Anonymousreply 4411/03/2012

W&W for R37!

by Anonymousreply 4511/03/2012

It's a magnificent day in the high 70's with a light breeze, and I spent the last hour sleeping and cuddling with my Bullmastiff on the bed.

by Anonymousreply 4611/03/2012

I saw a beautiful snowy white egret roosting in the creek this morning -- watched it until it flew off.

by Anonymousreply 4711/03/2012

Going into sign one of my photographs that was just printed before it goes to be framed for the next show my work is in.

by Anonymousreply 4811/03/2012

I read some funny things here on DL, and clicked on some funny links. You guys always make me laugh.

by Anonymousreply 4911/03/2012

Ann broke down today. She cried out for the maids, and when these did not appear, she cried out for the gardeners. The only one to enter the viewing chamber - Ann reclines on a smaragdine dais at the exact center of the manse - was Craig, the ugly son. She threw her mohair wig at him, and began sobbing anew.

by Anonymousreply 5011/03/2012

Beautiful sunrise of the Potomac on a fall day, I was able to go for a run without hurting my back or my feet and the thought of how lucky I was to get out of hurricane Sandy virtually unscathed.

by Anonymousreply 5111/03/2012

Beautiful crisp fall day.

But even better was that I was trying to get a cab to get to the library before it closed so I could return all my late books and dvds before my fines got out of hand. A Mercedes pulled over and some lovely person asked if I was going a certain way - which I was. I told her where I was going which was her direction but certainly almost a mile past her destination and she was happy to take me.

Turns out after we were driving and started talking I realized we had met before in her local shop but neither of us knew that when she made her generous offer. What a lovely thing to do. I guess I didn't look like a serial killer. Bless her heart.

by Anonymousreply 5211/03/2012

It's getting cold enough for the gray ferrel cat to cozy up to me when I feed him. I can get two pets in before I set down the food.

Also, my Sadie yelled at two old man dogs guarding the front door at the florist. They were pushing each other out of the way to bark back. She had the vapors when we left. You could see "I'm still hot!" on her face as we drove away.

by Anonymousreply 5311/03/2012

I was riding my bike around town and happened to glance over at two men who are neighbors talking over the hedge separating their properties. One of the men had his son, who is about 3 or 4, out with him who wanted to get his attention while he spoke with his neighbor. Impatient, the kid finally started pounding with both fists on his father's ass but daddy ignored him completely and kept up his conversation--finally he put his hand over his ass to shield it from further spanking from his son. His son then began to try and swing on his father's hand. It was very funny so I guess seeing something funny can make you happy.

by Anonymousreply 5411/03/2012

I saw/heard someone I know sing.

by Anonymousreply 5511/03/2012

[quote]It's getting cold enough for the gray ferrel cat to cozy up to me when I feed him. I can get two pets in before I set down the food.

I've been feeding a stray for a couple of years & sometimes she lets me pick her up & hold her for a few minutes after I put her dish down. It does seem to happen more often when the weather's cold, so I guess it's the warmth that motivates her to accept being held.

by Anonymousreply 5611/03/2012

I caught a "Man Shops Globe" mini-marathon.

Called my aunt in Bayonne, NJ, and learned she and my cousin were okay post-Sandy.

Went to a Christmas Craft Fair in a local church, and bought a beautiful hand-painted Polish ornament.

by Anonymousreply 5711/03/2012

I met a really cute three month old Great Dane puppy.

by Anonymousreply 5811/03/2012

The power finally came on......finally a non-icy shower!

by Anonymousreply 5911/03/2012

r33, I think this decision was partly inspired by seeing the movie. I have a renewed perspective on the fleetingness of life, but an idea that progress doesn't have to come at once or through amazing stress. I'm happy that you care. Cheers! I will join you in posting a happy thing here daily.

by Anonymousreply 6011/03/2012

I quite like seeing what made other people happy today.

by Anonymousreply 6111/03/2012

R33, what movie are you talking about?

by Anonymousreply 6211/03/2012

Eating some salty popcorn

by Anonymousreply 6311/03/2012

Riding my bike around Manhattan, seeing people downtown looking bathed and happy that they finally got juice.

by Anonymousreply 6411/03/2012

I enjoy reading philosophy books, and the weekend allows me to do that in depth. I also reviewed Portuguese grammar this morning - I'm a total foreign language nerd, so that made me happy.

by Anonymousreply 6511/03/2012

r62, I saw The Perks of Being a Wallflower in my r18 which r33 quoted. Stephen Chbosky, who wrote the book, wrote and directed the movie. Really can't recommend it enough.

by Anonymousreply 6611/03/2012

I took a nap with our big dog snuggled up next to me...

by Anonymousreply 6711/03/2012

Six students from a Christian college volunteered at the AIDS nonprofit where I work. I did eight hours of hard physical labor with them. I am exhausted, but happy.

by Anonymousreply 6811/03/2012

[quote]I found a new sushi joint with a super hot waiter.

Is he Asian?

by Anonymousreply 6911/03/2012

Laid on the couch for hours and finished two amazing books: Life After Death (Damien Echols' memoir - of the West Memphis 3) and The Devil All the Time by Donald Ray Pollock.

Also, sitting with my man at a local bar this evening, sipping a kick-ass Milagro margarita. We got buzzed and just laughed, out of emotional exhaustion, over some of the shit that went down this week in our 'hood (we live in a flood zone in Brooklyn).

by Anonymousreply 7011/04/2012

It's only 7:15 and I have a load of laundry going, a good bloody Mary waiting, and an omelette on the stove.

I freakin love Sunday mornings.

by Anonymousreply 7111/04/2012

R71, that sounds better than going out to brunch.

by Anonymousreply 7211/04/2012

I took a picture to a help a stranger win a worldwide scavenger hunt, and now she's sending me "cake pops" and a knitted sock monkey cap!

by Anonymousreply 7311/04/2012

I hit a small child with my car.

by Anonymousreply 7411/04/2012

This thread:

by Anonymousreply 7511/04/2012

1) I finally heard back from a friend on Long Island that everything is fine with her & her loved ones

2) My cats kept me imprisoned on the sofa for most of what turned out to be a blissfully Lazy Sunday afternoon

3) I read about a poll which says approx 70% of Brits would vote for Obama while only approx 7% would vote for Romney

by Anonymousreply 7611/04/2012

Took a nice long nap this afternoon under a very warm and soft blanket. It was wonderful.

by Anonymousreply 7711/04/2012

A nice BM.

by Anonymousreply 7811/04/2012

I stayed organized and got some stuff on my to do list done. Usually, the weekend is a waste and I head into Monday irritated and behind.

by Anonymousreply 7911/04/2012

My Sandy displaced company all went home. Spent day in pjs, watched movies and caught up on emails. Now finishing off a nice bottle of wine. Looking forward to Homeland.

by Anonymousreply 8011/04/2012

My cats crack me up every day. Little cunts that they are.

by Anonymousreply 8111/04/2012

Went shopping with a new friend to replace crappy-looking old clothes. I don't really enjoy shopping but having someone along made it easier and more fun. Lord and Taylor at 38th and 5th is a civilized experience with professional salespeople. Got some good threads for a good price and enjoyed chatting and having coffee with my friend. We were in sync -- nice when you don't know someone for things to go smoothly.

by Anonymousreply 8211/04/2012

I saw a car shaped like a boot today with an LL Bean tag on front... it made me smile!

by Anonymousreply 8311/04/2012

Took a break from the dissertation to watch a few eps of Modern Family while I munched on BBQ chips...yup, the little things can do it!

by Anonymousreply 8411/04/2012

I saw the sweetest little toddler at Wal-mart today. She had the biggest smile for me. That made me happy.

by Anonymousreply 8511/04/2012

R65, could you list some of the philosophy books that you have enjoyed?

by Anonymousreply 8611/04/2012

It can definitely be therapeutic to think of at least five things that make you happy any time you feel depressed (which for me is often.) I find it helpful to first identify at least five things that are making me feel depressed that day, then follow it up with the five or more that make me happy. Here's my happy list for today:

*Inventing a delicious, hot cheese and meat melty sandwich to use up my leftovers.

*Enjoying listening to the heavy rains (Vancouver,BC) while being cozy indoors.

*Realizing the goals I have achieved in the last two months to validate that yes, I'm actually getting somewhere.

*Deciding to buy personalized gifts online this year for less stress on me and more thoughtful presents for them.

*Reading this thread.

by Anonymousreply 8711/04/2012

I was re-reading portions of Gendler and Hawthorne's "Perceptual Experience", R86. Last weekend, I re-read part of Potter's "Set Theory and Its Philosophy".

by Anonymousreply 8811/04/2012

A fascinating, insightful tome that I read a while back, R86, is Meillassoux's "After Finitude". It's continental philosophy at its best.

If analytic philosophy is more your cup of tea, you can read anything by David Lewis. The two books I mentioned earlier are great too.

by Anonymousreply 8911/04/2012

My son went to see Obama at an event with Stevie Wonder. The first president he will be able to vote for and he is very excited.

by Anonymousreply 9011/04/2012

I drove about eastern Long Island's south fork today and I saw power crews everywhere. And gas stations were reopening.

by Anonymousreply 9211/04/2012

Seeing Chaplin (the musical) again. Love the show and Rob McClure is brilliant.

by Anonymousreply 9311/04/2012

I love these replies...the dog crying with excitement knowing he was going to the beach is too cute.

I have nothing as cute or interesting to add but I did love my 2 mimosas with Eggs Benedict for brunch with my dear friend today.

by Anonymousreply 9411/04/2012

That's a cool thing to be happy about, R90.

by Anonymousreply 9511/04/2012

This evening, I enjoyed the gay guy who knocked on my apartment door tonight who is canvassing asking people to vote No on the anti-gay marriage state constitutional amendment on the ballot.

I voted absentee already and voted No.

I enjoyed his enthusiasm for being involved.

by Anonymousreply 9611/04/2012

Took my dog to visit her mother and sister and her half brother showed up. So I got to sit and have a glass of wine and watch four very happy blurs of white chasing each other around a big yard on a sunny Northern California afternoon.

by Anonymousreply 9711/04/2012

Seeing a man with a phat ass bend over.

by Anonymousreply 9811/04/2012

Heard a street musician play who had great talent and transfixed a crowd. Maybe he will become a star!

by Anonymousreply 9911/04/2012

The Chicago Bears.

by Anonymousreply 10011/04/2012

Being with my new boyfriend, cuddling up watching old AbFab reruns and eating turkey chili.

by Anonymousreply 10111/04/2012

I'm already thankful that I live on the only block in my town that didn't lose electricity this week, but when my sick, elderly cat dragged his fishing pole all over the house screaming at me to play with him, I felt truly happy.

Which was good because the fucking cable has been out since Monday.

by Anonymousreply 10211/04/2012

Had a nice visit with my dad today and was happy to spend some time with someone who is now a kindhearted person. Things were not always so nice.

Glad to see others were happy today as well.

by Anonymousreply 10311/04/2012

R87 Your post made me happy!

by Anonymousreply 10411/04/2012

Have been sick all week with IBS, which just came on randomly this year. Left the house today for the first time in days, walked to the corner store and got a milk chocolate Cadbury bar instead of cigs. Don't normally eat sweets, but right now I am higher than a kite!

by Anonymousreply 10511/05/2012

What has made me happy for the last few days is the confidence that Obama is going to win this election.

by Anonymousreply 10611/05/2012

This thread is making me happy. It should definitely become a DL staple.

by Anonymousreply 10711/05/2012

Having this thread on top of DL every gloomy Monday makes me happy enough to read it.

by Anonymousreply 10811/05/2012

Watched on Showtime On Demand, for the 3rd time, this great documentary about actors, called "That Guy (who..."). Working actors, character-y, whose faces one knows, but not necessarily their names. Tweeted one: hot African-American guy: Rick Worthy - got a tweet back!

On diet forever; ate first piece of pizza in months (one slice only!) HEAVEN.

Helped a friend edit a paper from school.

Finally, enjoyed, as I always do: DL!!!

by Anonymousreply 10911/05/2012

Voting for Obama.

by Anonymousreply 11011/06/2012

I am happy for TRIAMCINOLONE paste. I have an outbreak of cancker sores and the paste really helps the pain.

I know I got the cancker sores from irritating my mouth by eating too many candy corns. Eating corn is like giving your mouth microdermabrasion.

by Anonymousreply 11111/06/2012

Nothing particularly made me happy today, but I am not unhappy, so I am happy about that.

by Anonymousreply 11211/06/2012

OBAMA wins! So happy!

by Anonymousreply 11311/06/2012

I'm happy I started this thread, because reading all the responses gives me hope, and helps me see that it's the lovely, simple things that matter.

by Anonymousreply 11411/07/2012

I took the bus to the polling place today. I wasn't sure which bus stop it was nearest, since I usually drive. When the driver realized I was going to vote, he made a special stop right in front of the polling place for me. Tiny thing, but it made me smile.

by Anonymousreply 11511/07/2012

Batack Obama

Elizabeth Warren

Tammy Baldwin

Claire McCaskell

Tim Kaine

Sherrod Brown

Tammy Duckworth

by Anonymousreply 11611/07/2012

I realized I'm not totally fucked. Good to hear from OP too - how's the sushi place treating you?

by Anonymousreply 11711/07/2012

Batack = Barack

by Anonymousreply 11811/07/2012

Obama WINNING the election and the safety of knowing he'll be the president for 4 more years. THAT is what made me happy. THAT.

by Anonymousreply 11911/07/2012

The election, especially O's speech. And the hilarious story of my friend sending a fuckbuddy packing for being overly shaven.

by Anonymousreply 12011/07/2012

My cab driver on the way home from the election party I attended was a really delightful old liberal guy with whom I happily fangirled over Barack, Michelle, Elizabeth Warren, Tammys Baldwin and Duckworth, Claire McCaskell, gay marriage & marijuana legalization initiatives, and even DL Boyfriend Nate Silver. Just the perfect end to the evening.

by Anonymousreply 12111/07/2012

Waking up to the glorious news about the president, Tammy Baldwin, and happiness for those who wish to legally marry...

by Anonymousreply 12211/07/2012

Had a lovely new chair delivered. The strapping delivery guys were dominican and polish. Both so pleased that Obama won.

by Anonymousreply 12311/07/2012

My 88-year-old mother called me early this a.m. to say "YAY!" about Obama.

Ham-and-bean soup is a-cookin' in my new "Cassis" Le Creuset pot.

And Obama won.

by Anonymousreply 12411/07/2012

I might be working on a play with my favourite actor David Tennant next year.

I made a fruit crumble for the first time and it came out dee-licious.

by Anonymousreply 12511/07/2012

What made me happy today is realizing that there must be more smart people than dumb people in the country after yesterday's election. Four states approve of gay marriage and Romney will no longer be seen on TV. Doesn't get any better than that.

by Anonymousreply 12611/07/2012

Sharing Obama's victory with fellow Dataloungers.

by Anonymousreply 12711/07/2012

What kind of chair, r123? That's what I'm interested in.

I woke up refreshed and I know it's not from the sleep I got. Very happy to live in a country that is making great steps towards equality. Today we are happy, tomorrow we go forward.

by Anonymousreply 12811/07/2012

I am so happy for my American neighbors about Obama winning and marriage equality becoming more of a reality. In Canada, we've had same-sex marriage legalized nationwide for over six years now, but it's much harder with 50 states and no Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Also, we have Harper in power who would love to dismantle it if he could, so I'm so happy for the US and Obama being in control.

Last night, I spent from about 4pm until late night/early morning watching the election coverage on CNN right through to the victory speech and the analysis after. I was/am so happy at seeing so many people so happy about the election.

by Anonymousreply 12911/07/2012

As of this week I am one important step closer to having a kid :)

The election was amazing and I feel so happy about it.

by Anonymousreply 13011/07/2012

Congratulations r129! Hearing that makes me happy.

Today I bought some art supplies for my little sister. That made her and me happy.

by Anonymousreply 13111/07/2012

Bagels, cream cheese, and apple cider

The first snow of the season

Oh yeah, and the election results

by Anonymousreply 13211/07/2012

Big Bird!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 13311/07/2012

The freeper meltdowns made me happy. I've been waiting for that for a long time!

R133, that picture made me laugh out loud.

by Anonymousreply 13411/07/2012

I had coffee today with two of my favourite people at work. Coming home, I saw the cute stranger on my route who I hadn't seen for a few months. Right now, it's reading all the election happiness here :)

by Anonymousreply 13511/08/2012

Two friends dropping by for dinner later.

Making tomato sauce with meatballs

I'm happy

by Anonymousreply 13611/08/2012

Amazing sex with my boyfriend after a week apart and then some cuddling afterward.

by Anonymousreply 13711/08/2012

I think I aced a final exam today.

by Anonymousreply 13811/08/2012

Took my aging Mazda to the local NJ vehicle inspection station fully expecting to be given a big "FAIL" for some reason and drove away with a brand new sticker that is good for three more years.

As an added bonus, I did not have to wait in line for the inspection. I was waved in as soon as I drove up to the " STOP! Wait here." spot.

by Anonymousreply 13911/08/2012

I received the results of a second herpes test: negative.

by Anonymousreply 14011/08/2012

I'm happy for you, 140.

by Anonymousreply 14111/08/2012

Took a walk through the woods and down by the seaside. It was the middle of a work day (I work nights) and nobody was around. It was awesome!

by Anonymousreply 14211/09/2012

I helped a fifth grader with long division. He asked me how old I was. When I said 61 his mouth dropped open, eyes popped. I really laughed.

by Anonymousreply 14311/13/2012

This is the second day of a (I hope) temp to perm job. My unemployment just ran out and I really need it. The lovely guy with whom I work said that he thought I would get an offer and told me that I was doing very well and learning the ropes very quickly. It was nice to hear that.

by Anonymousreply 14411/13/2012

R144, that's wonderful. I think you'll get it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

by Anonymousreply 14511/13/2012

Good luck, r144!

I met a very hot, very nice guy who gave me his number. I feel like a nervous teenager.

by Anonymousreply 14611/13/2012

I'm happy that Obama is prez and that Pappa John's may be going down

by Anonymousreply 14711/13/2012

My driver sideswiped a pesky, unattractive little homeless child who was begging on the side of the road this afternoon.

That'll put some fear of God back in her.

by Anonymousreply 14811/13/2012

I'm still happy about Obama's election.

I'm happy that I getting paid today.

Good Luck [R144]

I'm happy I was able to walk with my mother today. She was unusually thrilled by all the yellow leaves that had fallen from the trees onto the path. At first, I thought "what a silly thing to get a thrill from" but after watching the leaves fall, I got it!

After I thought of this, I realized there are a few things I am happy about but I'll just post this one.

Thanks Mom (and Dad)

Oh and (in addition to other things which I won't bore everyone with) I'm happy Barack is our President for four more years!

by Anonymousreply 15111/13/2012

Damn, nothing has really made me happy today. I didn't realize it until I saw this thread. Thanks alot OP, I'm sad now!

Today I am happy that I have heating and AC

by Anonymousreply 15311/14/2012

I'm happy for you, R153 and I do hope the lack of heating and AC was a storm-related issue and not that you're finally not living under a bridge anymore. (^_~)

mM 23 month old hopped off his little train and said "Thanks Thomas (the train)" then "Bye Bye Thomas" and left the room shutting the door. Too cute for words. I also tried to video him singing "Happy Birthday" but when i took out the camera, and like, lip synced to him so he would sing, he just lip-synced the words like I did, and laughed at me. This child is THE BEST 98% of the time.

I read an article about an ad executive who, after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, suddenly realized his career was utterly meaningless and he'd wasted his life. I wasn't happy because of THAT, but I felt reassured that even if my life is meaningless and wasted I did get some fun out of it and lived the way I really wanted to.

R157 is Roger Smith

My BF and I are renting a beach condo for the winter. We both had the day off today and barely left the property. We took a morning walk on the beach went to Hardees for breakfast, banged, played video games, banged again, napped, made a hamburger helper for dinner, he blew me, watched Walking Dead, now about to cuddle up and go to sleep. A memorable day for me. Love you all

My college friend came to visit me with his extremely cute 2 year old child. Such an adorable baby, lots of laughs and tickles. I really needed it after a rough Saturday night.

I saw two Little Blue Herons today.

by Anonymousreply 16312/04/2012

Congrats R162!

As for me, I had my dog neutered today. When he was under sedation the vet pulled 2 of his baby teeth that hadn't come out yet. He gave them to me in a little baggie - they are SO CUTE.

He also said my dog has a perfect smile - like he's had orthodontia work, his teeth are absolutely perfect. He could be a doggie tooth model he has such a perfect arch and smile.

eating oatmeal with blueberries for the fourth day in a row, knowing I'm on a road to getting thinner and healthier.

My mom laughed at me for calling a bee hive a bee nest and then I laughed, too.

Finding out that young straight men prefer having a flambouyant gay son over a slutty daughter. The comments are kinda endearing as well. Who knew they love us?

My mother's mole biopsy came back negative.

A guy I've been seeing asked me out for the movies tomorrow night. Made me especially happy because I usually do the asking out. Nice to know I'm thought of. :-)

I reconnected with someone I know from ten years ago. We had tea and a really nice time. It's interesting how the familiarity of knowing someone comes back in an instant.

Later, I dropped off some clothes I don't wear at the local thrift shop. While waiting for the shopkeeper I looked at their ceramics for sale. I spotted a brown Heath Ceramics tea cup for $1.99. I am a big fan of their simple designs, and a big tea drinker. I felt like I found a small treasure that was there waiting for me. I know, Mary!

My straight coworker showed me a facebook pic of himself in the shower. He is hawt and has a really, really, nice ass. Im not attracted to him in that way, but it was cute.

by Anonymousreply 17412/05/2012

A forgotten bottle of Vicodin I found at the back of the medicine cabinet.

by Anonymousreply 17512/05/2012

I hate you, R175.

by Anonymousreply 17612/05/2012

R174, his ass was visible on a facebook pic?

by Anonymousreply 17712/05/2012

3 litres of beer

Today wasn't very good for me, but reading this thread reminds me of how relieved I felt when Obama won. I'm going to try to remember not to take that for granted, which will make me happy every day for the next 4 years.

by Anonymousreply 17912/05/2012

r177, he was sticking his upper body out from behind a shower curtain in the pic. It was one of those frosty shower curtains so you could see the silhouette of his body and ass.

Sitting in front of a fire. Discovering this whole thread. Life has been awful for the past few months and feel a little better knowing that little things can make people happy. Thank you, OP, and everyone who replied.

by Anonymousreply 18312/05/2012

I'd, genuinely, like to give a good cuddly fuck to all the sad sacks on this thread. I like fucking other guys and I like cuddling with them and talking afterward.

That would make my day.

by Anonymousreply 18412/05/2012

What made me happy today: I didn't have diarrhea for the first time in three weeks.
