MIAMI, Fla. -- A Secret Service officer was found passed out and apparently drunk on a Miami street corner just hours after President Barack Obama left the city.
Aaron Francis Engler was found lying near an intersection not far from a popular night spot in downtown Miami.
According to an arrest affidavit, Engler had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol.
Police say Engler started throwing his arms around while he was being searched and hit the officer in the chin.
Engler told police he was part of President Obama's advance team for his visit to the city on Thursday, law enforcement sources told local station CBS, Miami.
He was arrested on two misdemeanor counts and later released to the Secret Service agency's Miami field office.
