Report: Colton Haynes Is Leaving Teen Wolf
Oct 12, 2012 09:30 AM ET
Colton Haynes, who plays Jackson Whittemore on MTV's Teen Wolf, will not return for the show's third season, Us Weekly reports.
A source tells the magazine that Haynes is being "forced out" of the show because he was only asked to return for 12 of the 24 episodes of the upcoming season.
In the finale of the show's second season, which aired in August, Jackson had transitioned into a werewolf. There's no word on how — or even if — his character will be written out.
An MTV rep said in a statement that there was "absolutely no truth" to the report. "We love Colton and look forward to his returning with the entire cast for season 3 of Teen Wolf."
However, a tweet from the actor himself seems to imply otherwise. "These past few yrs have been the best of my life. I'm sad that this chapter has ended, but excited for a new one to begin. Thx for the love," Haynes wrote on Thursday.
Would you be sad to see Jackson go?

[quote]Would you be sad to see Jackson go?
No. I'll just stop watching the show and start watching whatever Colton does next.
I don't understand why they would want to write him out.

Rule #1 of television: Never, EVER break up with the showrunner.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||10/12/2012|
Colton is too busy doing other things...
|by Anonymous||reply 3||10/12/2012|
I believe the source -- that he's being forced out. The gays are taking over!!!
|by Anonymous||reply 5||10/12/2012|
[quote]No. I'll just stop watching the show and start watching whatever Colton does next.
Why the hell would you support this closet case? He has done nothing but hide and it's pathetic and humiliating. He does whatever his handlers tell him to do and has no integrity what so ever.. he does everything he can to gain fame and money. Sending out seise and desist letters to remove fairly innocent gay pics was ok.. but he did nothing with the pics where he was having sex with a woman? WTF?!?! This guy is disgusting.. we really shouldn't be supporting him at all.
I see him leaving Teen Wolf as a good thing.. I can now finally start to watch Teen Wolf, because this diva thought he was too good for the show. I refuse to support anything he's in. I don't support closet cases, people who have been out only to go back into the closet when they gain some fame. I don't support Luke Evans either. We need to show that their actions have consequences, and that we do not accept this. I say good riddance. I hope Colty has a great career now.. hahaha. Not gonna happen. He's a mediocre actor at best, and he will be lucky to get adverts. He was lucky to be on Teen Wolf in the first place, he's a moron for passing this up. Oh well.. one less pathetic closet case on my tv.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||10/12/2012|
[quote]See ya...he couldn't act and the character was a punk. Will NOT miss him and his waxed eyebrows in the least! Best TV news I've heard this week.
Best comment I've read ever. It's accurate.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||10/12/2012|
Thought the theory was that this was a play by his PR/management team, since I guess he must be in contract negotiations for the season. I'm guessing they plant a story about how he's leaving (which surprises MTV, and even Jeff Davis said it was news to him) to get some kind of fan reaction and up his episode fee. Story-wise, they know the third season is going to be strange without his character, considering where the season finale left off. Could also backfire on him, though.
Probably the same PR/management that's been so aggressive in trying to erase his XY pictures, while having him play up his supposed heterosexuality. Kind of vile, but probably run of the mill for Hollywood.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||10/12/2012|
Is he trying to pull a Farrah Fawcett/David Caruso move ? Or is he trying to pull a cast of 'Friends' move ?? Hard to tell.
If he isn't signed to a third season and 'wants to pursue other opportunities', there is not much more the show can do except throw more money at him to sign back up.
It's a large cast of young actors already and I say they can do without this one and cast a new snotty jock character. Since his character has gone wolfie already and there are already lots of other werewolves (the two Tylers), the new guy can come on and mix things up. Maybe he can be another hunter.
Anyway .... just replace slab of beef A with slab of beef B and the show will go on !!
|by Anonymous||reply 10||10/12/2012|
R6--I don't think a young actor who just got his first big break in Hollywood is in a position to dictate to his management and PR people. More likely, it's the other way around. So I don't blame him for his lawyer's clumsiness. I also think he has done far less to hide his personal life than most others in his position. No one who has a shot at romantic leads in Hollywood has ever come out, and I don't think it's reasonable to expect him to sacrifice his career to satisfy people like you.
He's stunning, and by all reports a really nice kid.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||10/12/2012|
By some of the reactions on DL, you'd swear he was John Travolta.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||10/12/2012|
And again you're making excuses for him, R12.. he has options. He can say no, get another agent.. stand up for himself, but no.. he doesn't do that. And that's ok, because at least we know he's a pathetic closet case with no integrity.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||10/12/2012|
What does any of that have to do with this thread?
Anyway, Teen Wolf is a fun show and I really like him on it...but honestly the show can go on without him. Going to be weird as hell since he was such a huge part of the second season just to have his character dissappear but Jackson as a character in the plot is expendable.
Still think it is a dumb decision, getting cast in a pilot doesn't necessarily mean anything. It'd better be a damn good project that is pretty confidently going to be picked up for him to leave a show that has been so good to him.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||10/12/2012|
He should have taken the 12-episode deal and continued to use the show to build his popularity. Coming out of the closet would probably have given him some cachet with the Teen Wolf fans and Jeff Davis, but I'm sure he doesn't see it that way. I'm disappointed he's leaving but if he's going to listen to bad advice, his career is going to suffer for it.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||10/12/2012|
Yeah, the season 3 opener will be a little weird without him since his transformation to werewolf was a key plot point of the season finale, but since Jeff Davis has already released the opening page of the season 3 opener script (which opens in the new school year, months after the finale) and it focuses on the new alphas / Isaac, it's not like Jackson's character is necessarily integral to the season's story arcs. It'll just require some creative / awkward writing for his absence and where his relationship with Lydia was left off.
In terms of fan reaction - I know he has his followers, but most vocal fan focus seems to go to "Sterek" / Dylan O'Brien and Tyler Hoechlin, and Tyler Posey.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||10/12/2012|
R12: "I also think he has done far less to hide his personal life than most others in his position."
As is obvious in the link at R3.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||10/12/2012|
Yeah, gotta say the whole closeted-actor-"leaving"-to-pout-for-more-pay thing doesn't really work in the end.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||10/12/2012|
He's replacing Brandon Routh on Partners.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||10/12/2012|
Apparently the plan was already to only have Colton be in 12 of the 24 episodes anyway, so the writers (including Jeff Davis) wrote the first five episodes of the season without his character. So I guess his absence won't be such a weird thing. The only "surprise" to Jeff Davis was that Colton's people would threaten not to be in the season at all, after sitting on his offer for so long.
Yeah, I'm tryin to think of an actor for whom this tactic has actually worked in the past. If they've got a legitimate better offer (like, the actor for "Boyd" on Teen Wolf is on ABC's Once Upon a Time, so he had no reason to come back), then go ahead, but then there are the Chord Overstreet's of the world who have to come crawling back.

Wasn't Mark Hamill in Eight Is Enough before Star Wars?
|by Anonymous||reply 22||10/12/2012|
I have had it with you bitches starting renegade Colton Haynes threads! Enough.
We are already doing a fine job chronicling the ups and downs of his professional and personal life. All further comments on this development maybe left in this thread
|by Anonymous||reply 23||10/12/2012|
What if the network didn't like the popularity of Sterek? Dylan is the break-though star of the show and having his character paired up with Derek is a big nono to them.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||10/12/2012|
Funny how Frank Orange withstood a ton of criticism when he came out and STILL achieved a lot of global accolades, but a kid from an MTV sci-fi show can't even acknowledge his own sexuality, despite the evidence.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||10/12/2012|
Frank Ocean? Singer-songwriter (rapper?) and actor aren't really comparable fields. If it all went tits up for Ocean as a recording artist, he could still write for other performers. Colton's selling himself as a pin-up, and his decisions have been made with that in mind.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||10/12/2012|
R24, what does Sterek have to do with Colton's departure and salary negotiations? He has no relation to Sterek (besides occasionally tweeting about it) - Derek is played by Tyler Hoechlin, not Colton Haynes. And while Dylan O'Brien's popularity has certainly risen, I think you could very well argue that his popularity is boosted by Sterek, not detracted from - he gets more fans as one-half of a popular fantasy couple.
And while I'm sure MTV execs are nervous about actually going forward with Sterek, its PR / social media team certainly isn't shy about bringing it up. For the past few weeks they've put a pretty good focus on it with the fan-fiction contests, Facebook "Likes" campaign (which resulted in the MTV homepage featuring a video called "Sterek bloopers" - using that term), Tweeting for support in the AfterElton slash tournament, etc.
And R23, this thread is for this particular bit of casting news related to the show - you can be a Teen Wolf fan and not be particularly interested in Colton Haynes personal or professional life. Don't assume (like his management team apparently did) that viewers of the show are there for Colton.

Homeboy should realize that pulling Caruso-style stunts won't halt the gay rumors. He's linked to one here and most of the comments act is if it's a widely known fact

Colton and a real pussy hound.

[quote]there are the Chord Overstreet's of the world who have to come crawling back.
Um, what? Chord was (stupidly) fired, and then THE PRODUCERS had to go crawling back to him when they realized that fans were unhappy with his dismissal, and also that they were short on non-senior characters for the current season.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||10/12/2012|
That's what he gets for denying me.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||10/12/2012|
No the original poster was right R30. Chord was not fired, he was just not offered a contract as a series regular which he felt insulted about and walked away from Glee.
He did indeed have to swallow his pride and come crawling back.
|by Anonymous||reply 32||10/12/2012|
[quote]Chord was not fired, he was just not offered a contract as a series regular which he felt insulted about and walked away from Glee.
Under no circumstance did he "walk away" from "Glee," unless you want to believe the most delusional PR flacks. Under the worst circumstances, and as alluded in a Musto blind item, he was fired for making the mistake of not allowing himself to be indefinitely plowed as the personal fucktoy of Ryan Murphy and his partner. Fortunately now they have newer meat (Darren Criss) to plow.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||10/13/2012|
Sounds like PR drama to me. Not even Colton's handlers would be that stupid to tell him to walk away from the Teen Wolf gig without having some decent project lined up (signed, sealed, and delivered ... so it won't fall through at the last minute). And a closet case like Colton has no pride or dignity to walk out of there on his own.
Then Jackson, the character.
[quote]Apparently the plan was already to only have Colton be in 12 of the 24 episodes anyway, so the writers (including Jeff Davis) wrote the first five episodes of the season without his character.
An odd choice given that the last scene of Jackson was becoming what he wanted since season one. I'd guess they would jump right in and follow up with a 'careful what you wish for it might come true' message. And the show made a pretty big deal about Jackson's real parents that goes way beyond a red herring for the Kamina thing.
That's why I guess this is just a PR drama stunt (now, will he or won't he be in the show? I've GOT to watch the season's premier episode!).

R26, on top of that Frank's CD hasn't even broken gold here in the States. I was really rooting for him- and it's possible he may have sold even fewer copies of the album without the press that came along with him coming out- but his career is an interesting example of what it means to come out.
Just reading through datalounge, it's clear that Ocean's coming out didn't bring him a tidal wave of new gay fans. Despite referencing Ocean as a coming out success story, r25 didn't even know his name. What are the chances he/she knows any Frank Ocean songs, much less bought the album? Has there been an entertainer who's career has been helped by coming out?
This isn't my defense of the closet. This is a critique of the gay community. If we are going to trash an actor still in the process of establishing his career for not coming out, then we should actually be supportive of those who do come out. Haynes is building his name on being a heartthrob and coming out would be a big career risk.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||10/13/2012|
It's common knowledge that the Gay Community is not a united force and rather burdend with inner conflicts and drama. It doesn't take much to set up a fight between one group of the Gay Community against another group of the Gay Community and the instigator can just sit back and watch the bitch fight go on.
The main success for closeted artist has to come from his already established fan base who supports their celebrity no matter whether he is gay or straight. If a lot of them is leaving him and the coming out didn't give him new fans, then yes, that celebrity is screwed.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||10/13/2012|
Colton must have some kind of leverage to play hardball like this or as others have said its a big publicity stunt. It is making him famous though as he was breaking news on a TON of websites.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||10/13/2012|
I guess Jeff Davis just confirmed at ComicCon in New York that Colton will NOT return for season 3. Talk about a whoopsie.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||10/13/2012|
I agree, r36. I think that's a real shame, too. If we feel that our entertainers have a responsibility to us-y'know, one that goes beyond providing quality entertainment- then we also have a responsibility to them. I
|by Anonymous||reply 39||10/13/2012|
Colton Haynes' primary responsibility is to sit on my face.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||10/13/2012|
I think Colton blindsiding Jeff Davis (if its true he did as reported) was kinda shitty considering it is because of Jeff Davis that Colton has the fame he has.
I wonder if he will be like Chord and return to Teen Wolf like Chord did to Glee when Colton finds parts in films and tv few and far between.
I wonder how fag hag bestie Ally dealt with the news?
Will Cousin David pull a Joan Crawford and replace his cousin on the show.
Will the fans notice?
What's to become of the silver slippers?
|by Anonymous||reply 41||10/13/2012|
He's going to star in Glee and play a guy who used to date Blaine but now is straight and is best friends with Tina and goes on exotic trips with Schuester.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||10/13/2012|
[quote]Colton must have some kind of leverage to play hardball like this or as others have said its a big publicity stunt.
Hell yeah he has leverage! We seem to be forgetting that Colton has gotten around. I still believe he was servicing some important people in Hollywood...you know, before he officially became an actor. Im sure he has a nice list of contacts in order to find work.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||10/13/2012|
(42) That was amazing how you turned his real life into a glee episode! You made my day!
|by Anonymous||reply 44||10/13/2012|
I doubt it's a publicity stunt for the show - for Colton himself, sure. For the show, it has too much potential to alienate fans (both those who like Colton, and those who would be pissed off if he ended up returning and it was all a stunt).
On Colton's end, yeah, his management team probably played the cards to see if he could get more favorable terms, but it's unlikely to create goodwill with MTV or Jeff Davis. And please, in what fantasy world does he have leverage - if he really had that many contacts, he'd be doing a lot better in the business than being 6th-billed on a cult-hit MTV show.
|by Anonymous||reply 45||10/13/2012|
If Colton really were in demand, he would have been filming a movie during hiatus, like Dylan O'Brien did, instead of taking all those Camp Podwall trips with his man-friends.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||10/13/2012|
How long until we see him on Law & Order?
|by Anonymous||reply 47||10/14/2012|
This was a royal fuck up on Colton's part. But he's a kid-- maybe this will teach him to be himself and stop listening to bad advice from his handlers.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||10/14/2012|
What's he going to do now? As if anyone cares.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||10/14/2012|
Colton's manager is an asshole and Colton is a total moron for listening to him.
Colton's manager also "manages" Shawn Pyfrom and remember when Shawn too left Desperate Housewives, "to pursue other acting opportunities" because his role had too become reduced on the show? The below link about Shawn almost sounds exaclty like Colton's situation. Has Shawn worked since?
Why did Colton listen to this guy???
|by Anonymous||reply 50||10/14/2012|
Colton and Shawn should just marry each other and move in together to save money on bills.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||10/14/2012|
If not a PR hoax I hope that manager of his has a The Covenant style of TV show project ready to go for his clients to be kept busy or else the manager and his clients are screwed big time.
|by Anonymous||reply 52||10/14/2012|
Jeff Davis addressed the issue in a few interviews at comic-con. Basically nothing new but apparently even though he didn't know officially until yesterday this wasn't much of a surprise to him. They also thought Colton was going to try to leave after the first season so they purposely tried to lock him down for the second.
He seemed to be fairly mature about it, that if Colton wanted to move on and try his luck elsewhere he supports him, and that he would leave it open for his return in case he falls flat on his ass. Pretty nice of him for a guy that is being told by Colton that his show isn't big enough for him.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||10/14/2012|
Good thing Colton can fall back on his former escorting career if times get tough.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||10/14/2012|
R53, that makes sense re: Jeff Davis, because apparently for the S2 finale it was also up in the air whether Jackson's character would survive or be killed off - apparently they shot two endings, one where Jackson's character died and was mourned, etc., and Colton didn't even know which ending was going to be put in. So his status with the show has always been a little up in the air.
And it's not like Colton's a special case; I think Jeff Davis takes a cue from Buffy and isn't afraid to kill off or revive characters - e.g. Alison's mom, Peter Hale - if it suits the story he wants to tell. And Jackson has never been as central to the story as someone like Scott or Stiles.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||10/14/2012|
FYI, AfterElton's interview of Jeff Davis at NY Comic Con at the link - he talks about Colton leaving (apparently he'd found out the night before, had a vague sense it might happen, will still be able to write around it and is going to leave the door open for his character to return if Colton wants), the possibility of Sterek (won't say it will happen one way or another, but says there'll still be camaraderie), and the overall theme of Season 3 and Scott becoming an Alpha.
|by Anonymous||reply 56||10/14/2012|
I like that Jeff Davis is using as a theme that Shakespeare quote about some people having greatness thrust into them. I assume that would be Derek bouncing his furballs on Stiles' tempting taint.
|by Anonymous||reply 57||10/14/2012|
Karma is a bitch and Colton is just getting what is cumming up his not so tight white butt hole!
|by Anonymous||reply 58||10/14/2012|
According to twitter Colton is celebrating by visiting Disneyland for the first time.
I love that through this whole debacle he has never aknowledged the thousands of fraus/teens/gays on tumblr/twitter/facebook who freaked the fuck out by him leaving the show.
I'm puzzled by Jeff Davis's response. He almost seems nonplussed that Colton quit and says the door is open for him to return.
If I was the creator, EP and head writer of a show, and one my stars said essentially fuck u to my contract offer, I wouldn't be so lah dee dah about the whole affair.

Duh? It's called a PR game. In private he may have told his team fuck that faggot, fuck that faggot right in the ass! But with his faithful fans still watching, you can't really say that outloud.
|by Anonymous||reply 60||10/14/2012|
Jeff Davis has been successfully working in show business for a while now. It isn't exactly news that a lot of people working in the entertainment industry want to be as successful as possible and will do anything to get there.
I mean this is the same Colton that attacked people just for posting images of him from a magazine's photoshoot because he was worried it would hurt his career. Dude is ambitious and wants make that money, I mean c'mon he fucked for it when he had to.
Jeff pretty much stated his feelings honestly, Colton is doing what he thinks is best for his career, he considers Colton a friend so he wishes him well and will offer him a homebase if things don't go well. Have you never had an employer that you got along with but jumped ship who told you that you could have your old job back if you wanted it?
|by Anonymous||reply 61||10/14/2012|
The way Colton/his management went about things was terrible. Instead of trying to play games by sitting on the offer they should've negotiated in good faith. But I don't see why Colton should feel beholden to the show. If Jeff Davis decided to kill Jackson off for creative reasons there wouldn't be that much outrage. Colton is taking a gamble and walking away on his own terms. If the offer was 12 out of 24 I could see why he wouldn't take it. If he wants to do other projects he'd be hemmed up. No one says the twelve would be consecutive episodes. Teen Wolf still has its fair share of hot guys who can't act.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||10/14/2012|
Well, of course Jeff Davis isn't going to curse him out; he probably does consider Colton a friend and wishes him the best, and to be quite frank, it's not like Teen Wolf is really going to suffer because of his departure - the writers can write around his character's absence, and the ratings are unlikely to suffer. If Dylan O'Brien had announced his departure, that'd be a different ballgame.
That being said, there are probably more respectful ways of telling your employer you're leaving than having him find out via Twitter, after he's already started writing the season scripts. Apparently Colton's management sat on his offer for months, past the deadline and blindsided both MTV and Jeff Davis. That's kind of a shitty way of announcing that you want to move on to other things.
|by Anonymous||reply 63||10/14/2012|
Yeah even though I am a fan of Colton, what he did was shitty and I think he should feel badly for how he handled things. If he and Jeff were really close friends why on earth would he blindside him? Shitty I say.
|by Anonymous||reply 64||10/14/2012|
So has anyone heard gossip as to what his next move is? Is he starring in a new pilot or film? Did he really leave Wolf with no backup?
|by Anonymous||reply 65||10/15/2012|
It seems he did leave without a backup. There were some mentions he got cast in a pilot, though I am confused about the timing for that. If it is a network show they just decided what pilot scripts to shoot and normally casting for the pilots wouldn't start til January. The only possibility is if he knows the producers involved in the project and they are guaranteeing him a role in the pilot.
Which is theoretically possible I guess, but even if all these things are true there is obviously no guarantee it would even be picked up.
|by Anonymous||reply 66||10/15/2012|
With all the pics he's been tweeting of him at Disneyland I guess he's not too worried about being unemployed. I expect he'll soon start to miss those Teen Wolf paychecks.
|by Anonymous||reply 68||10/15/2012|
I don't understand comments like r67's.
|by Anonymous||reply 69||10/15/2012|
Two words: Kim. Williams.
|by Anonymous||reply 70||10/15/2012|
Probably back escorting and now asking for more since he's, like, famous. His manager is probably his pimp, too and all the escort business is on the downlow with all those trips to showy vacation destianations being business trips where Colton meets his wealthy johns. He'll probably make more money in one month with whoring himself out than doing a full season of Teen Wolf. Maybe in a couple of months he will do some new show or a guest appearance to keep his mainstream popularity going so he can still demand his high fees.
|by Anonymous||reply 71||10/15/2012|
Would you stop with the baseless accustations, R64. Are you his ex or something?
|by Anonymous||reply 72||10/15/2012|
(72) They aren't baseless accusations. Jeff Davis tweeted that he was as shocked and saddened as the fans were. And Jeff Davis admitted at Comic Con that he found out Colton was leaving online. That was a blindside on Colton's part and that was shitty.
|by Anonymous||reply 73||10/15/2012|
I think we are seeing different numbers. I'm addressing the post saying he's an escort.
|by Anonymous||reply 74||10/15/2012|
Uh you quoted R64, I assume you meant R71.
There has been gossip about Colton escorting since people knew who the hell Colton Haynes was, it goes back years and has been talked about many places, including a blind item, it is hardly some personal vendetta a poster here is trying to push.
|by Anonymous||reply 75||10/15/2012|
He seems like a really versatile actor. Big things in store for him.
|by Anonymous||reply 76||10/15/2012|
Every time I see this thread, I read it as Robert Hayes is leaving Teen Wolf. I loved Roberts in Airplane and Angie.
|by Anonymous||reply 77||10/15/2012|
One thing doesn't add up: Colton has said he recently moved for the first time in six years, which indicates he abandoned his pre-fame digs. The place had to have been modest, so why did he upgrade if he knew he'd be leaving Teen Wolf? I think someone's making him some pretty big promises. Lets hope for his case, this mysterious benefactor is able to deliver.
|by Anonymous||reply 78||10/15/2012|
Evidently Colton is being offered Aquaman in the new Justice League movie and according to Ryan Seacrest, other offers are just "pouring in"
Apparently Colton is going to stay acting in teen/macho/frau/sci-fi stuff.
I'm assuming we shouldn't look for Colton to appear in something adult and highbrow like series 4 of "Downton Abbey?"
|by Anonymous||reply 79||10/16/2012|
I cannot fathom why he'd leave the show.
If it's his choice, it's a really stupid move.
If he's being forced out, it's a really stupid choice.
Even if his character's story arc was going to "finish" in next 12 episodes, why would you just quit, and leave the rest of the show hanging and scrambling? How is that going to help your future employment prospects?
I do find it interesting, though, that Colton was NEVER on those "after the show" panels. That always struck me as odd.
|by Anonymous||reply 80||10/16/2012|
I dont like that we are giving him such a hard time about this.

R80 I agree with you that it was a bad decision but I will play devil's advocate and say that maybe Colton or his team were thinking that Teen Wolf had peaked in terms of its writing or storylines and a commitment to further seasons would involve being associated with a show that had 'jumped the shark' that eventually would sink into mediocrity. Therefore by leaving now, his character and acting will be remembered when the show was at its best. So many shows' wheels fall off after the first great season, examples include: any Ryan Murphy written show, Desperate Housewives, Twin Peaks. It will be interesting to see if Murphy can break his curse with season 2 of American Horror Story though.
Teen Wolf is a different animal than most shows though. Teen Wolf was good in season 1 and got really good by season 2. But I feel it will be hard to top the greatness that was Grampa Argent(channeling Jack Palance/Clint Eastwood) but who knows he could be back for season 3 but to my mind the puddle of black goo in the final shots seemed pretty final. I do hope that Jeff Davis can maintain the series into the 3rd season but I will start to worry when corporate product placement starts becoming grossly obvious and and non-essential characters start appearing that have no point or purpose.
I also wonder if the girl that plays Colton's girlfriend is shitting her pants now that her boyfriend has been written out. Does she fear for her future on the show? She was always a tertiary character at best? What will she do now that here true love is gone?

R82, that doesn't make sense - if the show is on an upswing - gaining new fans from the first season (and even more publicity / fans after the second season and all the online hullaballoo about Sterek, etc.), then why would it already have peaked and the third season represent a downturn? More people are going to be interested in the third season and where it goes.
That doesn't mean there aren't more high-profile opportunities out there - like movies or major network series - but nothing's indicated so far that Colton's signed up for anything. And R81, I think people are "hard" on him because it's a show with a passionate fan base, and because the timing and method of announcing his departure weren't particularly great.
And I don't think Holland Roden (who plays Lydia) has anything to worry about. Of the cast, she's the most comfortable doing PR and red carpet (which is why she got to host her own "After Dark" web shows, which were pretty fun). Jeff Davis has already indicated her storyline in season 3 relates to her special immunity and affinity for the supernatural (i.e. she has more to do than just be "Jackson's girlfriend"). Even with Jackson gone, she has people to play off of - like, it'll be interesting to see how she interacts with the revived Peter Hale (there are even people who ship "Pydia" - I guess they like the dynamic of a savvy but dangerous older man with a young but smart / saucy girl).

If he HAS something lined up that will really further his career then good for him, if not then it's a really bad career move.

It look's like Colton is joining Arrow.

He should join Corbin Fisher.

Colton wears more makeup than Zac Efron and Chace Crawford combined. Whenever you can't see his freckles, you know his foundation is heavy.

Colton elected to leave "Teen Wolf" because he didn't want to put up with the constant harassment and gay-bashing from other cast members. I feel bad for him (kind of).

That makes complete sense, he left the show run by an openly gay man and still occasionally hangs out with his former cast-members because a bunch of actors in LA are clearly ignorant homophobes.
Go to sleep hon, you're drunk. Did you really need to bump the thread for this?
