She is still a raving beauty at the age of 64.

I KNEW IT!

I don't know her, but she has a look that makes me think I'd like her.
Either way, very cool!
|by Anonymous||reply 2||10/11/2012|
Roger Thorpe brainwashed her into lesbianism!!
|by Anonymous||reply 3||10/11/2012|
Congratulations, r1. You have eyes.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||10/11/2012|
MG is truly one of the most beautiful women in soap history.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||10/11/2012|
She looks fantastic.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||10/11/2012|
Cute boys! Are they adopted???
|by Anonymous||reply 7||10/11/2012|
Now that she has no cultural currency. so brave.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||10/11/2012|
How wonderful! She is one of the better actors in THAT genre, though I suppose that's not saying much. She was certainly much more effective than that horrid creature who played Vanessa.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||10/11/2012|
The head shot they used at OUT to illustrate the story is one of the worst photos of her I've seen.
Much nice is the group shot of the family.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||10/11/2012|
What do we know about her gorgeous adopted sons?
|by Anonymous||reply 11||10/11/2012|
What R8 said. Of course, when the show was at its height, homophobia was a lot more rampant, maybe she was afraid? But others came out at that time, so....
Oh, R9, you mean Maeve Kincaid? She's so fucking homely. And loves to bring up the fact that Miss Streep is her SIL.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||10/11/2012|
Funny, I always suspected she was gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||10/11/2012|
Hottie Matt Bomer played her stepson on GL. Do you think they exchanged bread pudding recipes between scenes?
|by Anonymous||reply 14||10/11/2012|
Jesus -- you queens admit to watching "Guiding Light"??
|by Anonymous||reply 15||10/11/2012|
|by Anonymous||reply 16||10/11/2012|
Is she kidding? What the hell took her so long? The soap community knew she was gay, btw.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||10/11/2012|
What is it with soap operas on this board? Was that a "thing" for people who are now over 40? I'm in my 30s and I have never known anyone who was into soaps, not even the most screaming queens I know.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||10/11/2012|
Duh. She was not in the closet to the show, cast, writers or producers....
This is more for the fans.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||10/11/2012|
Why didn't she come out when she still had a platform? It does little good know
I am just sayin
|by Anonymous||reply 20||10/11/2012|
Good for her. Good for US.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||10/11/2012|
Well well welll...
|by Anonymous||reply 22||10/11/2012|
This is awesome news! I always suspected she was considering very little was known about her life outside of GL. I have had a crush on her that continues today. With this information coming out today it makes me wonder about the orientation of another actress Helen Gallagher. Yes, I had/have a major crush on her too. Does anyone here know if HG is family?
|by Anonymous||reply 23||10/11/2012|
I used to watch Guiding Light after school in the late 70s. I liked Holly, but her relationship with Roger was not healthy.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||10/11/2012|
Was never a huge fan of that soap, other than being a kid and feeling all tingly when my granny was watching it and John Wesley Shipp was in his speedo.
I did watch enough to know Maureen was actually a GOOD actress (and not just for soaps) ---certainly better than that awful ZIMMER.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||10/11/2012|
Very happy for her
Her son on the far left also appears to have gayface syndrome.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||10/11/2012|

|by Anonymous||reply 27||10/11/2012|
OH. MY. GOD.
She was literally my first crush -- 33 years ago! Guiding Light is that only soap I really watched and it's all because of her. I stopped watching when I went off to college, but she also engendered in me a love of redheads that continues to this day.

M, dear, that "horrid creature who played Vanessa" is your sister in law.
This could make for some delicious talk around the Thanksgiving table. The feathers could be flying!
Wish I could be a fly on the wall to see it.
