Sally Field Has Gay Son

Who knew? Watch her great speech about him.

by Anonymousreply 5104/13/2014

Sally Field should be ashamed of herself...poisoning people with Boniva. That is one horrific drug that is doing tremendous harm to countless people.

by Anonymousreply 110/07/2012

And now we see what she so gun-ho about being such a good mom on the Sally Field Program.

Good for her.

by Anonymousreply 210/07/2012

What in the fuck are you talking about, R1?

by Anonymousreply 310/07/2012

"...little boys and girls who realize somewhere long the way that they're just different from their other brothers and sisters...and so the fuck what!"

by Anonymousreply 410/07/2012

She's 66. Looks great.

by Anonymousreply 510/07/2012

Verificatia of son's size meat?

by Anonymousreply 610/07/2012

Does HRC do anything except throw ridiculously lavish parties and banquets?

by Anonymousreply 710/07/2012

[quote]Does HRC do anything except throw ridiculously lavish parties and banquets?

Actually, 73% of the money they raise goes to LGBT charities. That was over $6M last year.

So yes, the money they raise at those banquets do a lot of good.

by Anonymousreply 810/07/2012

So we can add Sally to the list of gay icons with a gay kid (Barbra, Judy, Cher.) M needs to get a gay one...that son of hers is pretty quiet...and rumors?

by Anonymousreply 910/07/2012

I wonder if Burt had anything to do with it.

by Anonymousreply 1010/07/2012

cutie!

by Anonymousreply 1110/07/2012

He's my new dream boyfriend....if only for the fact that Sally could come running into her house at the end of each hour and have a big hysterical moment!

by Anonymousreply 1210/07/2012

Her older sons could be too

by Anonymousreply 1310/08/2012

[quote]Her older sons could be too

Could be what? Gay? Did you watch the speech?

by Anonymousreply 1410/08/2012

SHe is a lovely woman.

by Anonymousreply 1510/08/2012

Naturally, he prefers Meryl Streep...

by Anonymousreply 1610/08/2012

Sally's Oscar for "Lincoln" will be in the Supporting Category.

What do we know about the gay son's father, Sally's ex? Was he the rebound after Burt dumped Sally for Dinah Shore?

by Anonymousreply 1910/08/2012

If you're in doubt about angels being real...

by Anonymousreply 2010/08/2012

i cried.

by Anonymousreply 2110/08/2012

Sally Field isn't even on the Oscar pundits' radar. She's actually the only member of the cast who's not even on the shortlist. It's nice she has a gay son, but it certainly doesn't make her a good actress (proven by the fact that he was born decades after her best work).

Maybe if HRC didn't have so many benefits they wouldn't have to scrape the bottom of the barrel and find spokeswomen to honor.

by Anonymousreply 2210/08/2012

Sally Field spoke out against the protest by the GLBT community at the 1992 Oscars, saying the Oscars is not a place for political disruptions.

by Anonymousreply 2310/08/2012

[quote]Sally Field spoke out against the protest by the GLBT community at the 1992 Oscars, saying the Oscars is not a place for political disruptions.

And karma gave her a gay kid shortly thereafter.

by Anonymousreply 2410/08/2012

Everyone wants a gay son these days. I pray mine is. Namaste

by Anonymousreply 2510/08/2012

Not Without My Gay Son!!!

by Anonymousreply 2610/08/2012

I can see how Mrs. Doubtfire could ruin a young boy's view of women for the rest of his life.

by Anonymousreply 2710/08/2012

You know everyone of his dates eventually shows up wearing a wimple.

by Anonymousreply 2810/08/2012

Hmm. Sam is rather a nellie young man.

Really, could you post this so called short list? We'll wait.

You idiots just make shit up.

by Anonymousreply 3010/08/2012

R30 she said this on the red carpet on Entertainment Tonight

by Anonymousreply 3110/08/2012

I loved the quote "They say some mothers just know. I just knew when I walked into his room and caught him jumping off his bed in my Flying Nun outfit...you can't make this shit up!"

by Anonymousreply 3210/08/2012

If you are on Boniva make sure your dentist knows.

Dental surgery while on Boniva can cause you to lose your jaw.

by Anonymousreply 3310/08/2012

I think she spoke beautifully, so did her son Sam in the other clip.

I think these sort so of things are important and helpful.

& while we're on this...there are masses of stars who have lots of gay friends who never stand up for us publicly.

by Anonymousreply 3410/08/2012

[quote]What do we know about the gay son's father, Sally's ex? Was he the rebound after Burt dumped Sally for Dinah Shore?

No. He came much later. (and I think Burt dated Sally after Dinah Shore)

by Anonymousreply 3510/08/2012

WTF are you talking about r22? Goldderby has her in fourth place with a green upward arrow (meaning she is trending upwards)

by Anonymousreply 3610/08/2012

He likes meat, he really, really likes meat!

by Anonymousreply 3710/08/2012

r9 Judy who? If u are thinking of Garland, her son is straight.

by Anonymousreply 3810/08/2012

According to vulture.com, Sally's not a lock for a nomination (primarily thanks to the women from Les Miserables and Best Exotic Marigold Hotel).

by Anonymousreply 3910/08/2012

The 1992 Oscar protest was misguided anyway. Hollywood was pretty good to the gays. Basic Instict and Silence of the Lambs hardly merited the outrage some people had for them.

by Anonymousreply 4010/08/2012

She really, really likes us!

by Anonymousreply 4110/08/2012

I went to college with her son Peter. I actually went to dinner with her..she took a large group of his friends out. She was very nice and interested in what all of Peter's friends were into. Obviously this was long before Sam was born. Peter is not gay...nice, normal guy...but not gay.

by Anonymousreply 4210/08/2012

Not if they had been balanced by positive portrayals, r40. Both Stone and Douglas agreed the complaint was valid in that context, while still defending the movie. Minorities have always been vilified by Hollywood, before they gained mainstream acceptance. Sally should've expressed some understanding of that instead of just dismissing the protests. But no one's perfect. I don't think she was ever homophobic.

by Anonymousreply 4310/09/2012

Not sure if Sally will really be an Oscar contender but it is hard to picture the Les Mis girls winning. Those roles are pretty slight and their songs are so cliched and overdone nowadays. If anybody shines in Les Miz it will probably Jackman or Crowe.

by Anonymousreply 4410/09/2012

I just e-mailed that link to my homophobic mother.

by Anonymousreply 4510/09/2012

As Deadline revealed exclusively last week, the Steven Spielberg-directed Lincoln made a surprise world premiere at the New York Film Festival on Monday evening. It has been one of the wildcards in the Oscar conversation, with the nomination buzz for the picture and Daniel Day-Lewis, SALLY FIELD, and Tommy Lee Jones louder now than ever.

Ha Ha!

by Anonymousreply 4610/09/2012

And The Hollywood Reporter Too!

I think it stands a very strong shot for further noms for best supporting actor Tommy Lee Jones, who plays the powerful Republican congressman Thaddeus Stevens, and best supporting actress SALLY FIELD, who appears as Lincoln’s wife, Mary Todd Lincoln

by Anonymousreply 4710/09/2012

I don't even care that the story about the son going on a date with a man who ran a blog called "Drink Your Juice, Shelby" isn't true, it's just priceless.

by Anonymousreply 4810/11/2012

Wow, her son reminds me A LOT of one of my ex's. Consequently, I would totally hit that.

...except I suspect Andy Towle's beaten me to the punch.

by Anonymousreply 4910/11/2012

...her brain will laterally explore!?!

by Anonymousreply 5010/12/2012

What was offensive about Basic Instinct and Silence Of The Lambs? I've seen both and was not offended in the least.
