Gas has hit $5.69 a gallon

Are you going to fill up?

by Anonymousreply 4110/14/2012

You should be specific about where you are, OP. The really significant spike is just a California thing right now.

Last night the cheapest I saw in San Diego was $4.59/gallon, but apparently that has jumped today.

by Anonymousreply 110/06/2012

I just pull up to the pump, ask the attendant to fill it up 93. I have no idea of how much per gallon.

by Anonymousreply 210/06/2012

My Prius don't care.

by Anonymousreply 310/06/2012

Really? It's $3.29 here in Texas. Sorry you're having regional refinery issues, OP.

by Anonymousreply 410/06/2012

I have to since I'll need it to get to work this week

by Anonymousreply 510/06/2012

I'm in Virginia. It cost $49 to fill up my tank yesterday (about 3.75 a gallon).

by Anonymousreply 610/06/2012

by Anonymousreply 710/06/2012

My pussy don't care

by Anonymousreply 810/06/2012

What is the price of gas in the rest of the country?

by Anonymousreply 910/06/2012

Vegas gas is as low as $3.57 gal. Easy to find the lowest Vegas prices online.

Remember when that meany insulted me when I predicted in July that rising CA gas prices would help the momentum for a CA to Vegas high-speed rail.

by Anonymousreply 1010/06/2012

In Chicago, even with high city tax it's only $3.75

Too bad you're poor and can't afford gas for your car. Time to quit Walmart and look for a real job.

£1.40 a litre in London. Which is $10.25 a gallon.

by Anonymousreply 1310/07/2012

4.03 here in philly suburbs.

by Anonymousreply 1410/07/2012

This is the oil companies trying to sway votes for Mitty.

by Anonymousreply 1510/07/2012

How do you Londoners afford to drive if it's over $10 a gallon??

by Anonymousreply 1610/07/2012

Hey Philly suburbs, on the other side of the Tacony-Palmyra bridge, connecting NE Philly and Southern NJ you can get it for about 3.65.

by Anonymousreply 1710/07/2012

I filled up a few days ago at a mere $4.69 for premium...

by Anonymousreply 1810/07/2012

Even with the fare hikes, a monthly Metrocard is still so much cheaper. I've never owned a car in my life. I don't know how people afford it.

by Anonymousreply 1910/07/2012

What was it four years ago?

by Anonymousreply 2010/07/2012

I'm in San Diego, and I had to fill up tonight. The price was $4.73. Son of a bitch.

by Anonymousreply 2110/07/2012

Actually I blame the Koch brothers, who own the pipelines and refineries.

by Anonymousreply 2210/08/2012

I love it. It forces people to use mass transplantation in LA. There's sooooooo much unnecessary driving in LA. People here drive just to drive.

by Anonymousreply 2310/08/2012

^^^^ transportation. Hee!

by Anonymousreply 2410/08/2012

by Anonymousreply 2510/09/2012

R20 = nitwit

by Anonymousreply 2610/09/2012

The one really great thing about high gas prices are watching all the asshole SUV owners pay close to $100 to fill up their fucking oversized gas guzzlers.

by Anonymousreply 2710/09/2012

5.69? Maybe in Hawaii. It's 3.65 here today--much lower than at the highest.

And yes, I do drive a hybrid.

by Anonymousreply 2810/09/2012

$4.66 on the Pasadena border. Big lines as this is about 8 cents a gallon below average

by Anonymousreply 2910/10/2012

Now they are saying that the price will stay high for a while, no matter what

by Anonymousreply 3010/10/2012

I've seen 50% less asshole drivers speeding down my street so I'm thrilled. Hope it goes over $5.00! Yes, I know ALL prices for everything will go up. It's worth every penny to keep these assholes cunts off of LA streets.

by Anonymousreply 3110/10/2012

Where the fuck do you people live? Gas is $2.28 a gallon.

by Anonymousreply 3210/11/2012

It dropped a nickel today

by Anonymousreply 3310/11/2012

Today, it dropped four more cents

by Anonymousreply 3410/12/2012

And I think Cackle Cackle really is dead becasue he should be all over this thread.

by Anonymousreply 3510/12/2012

There ISN'T a mass transportation system available for MOST of us in LA, asshole.

by Anonymousreply 3610/14/2012

r20 gas 4 years ago was over 4 dollars a gallon, the only thing that drove the price down was that little collapse of the economy under republican rule for 8 years.

to the diesel question - the only automakers activly making viable diesels in the us are vw, bmw and mercedes. French fry oil can be used in a connverted car, or you can convert the used fry oil to bio diesel, which you can buy a kit at home to do that. Bio diesel will run in any diesel car (but will void your warranty because the car makers are in bed with the oil industry - even the diesel makers).

bio diesel can be made cheaply from algee, as a renewable energy source but no one really talks about that - ethanol is a bust because it takes more energy to produce a gallon than in the gallon itself so not cost effective.

I drive a vw passat diesel and get 43 miles to the gallon in a car that can haul 5 adults comfortably, with leather seats, sat nav, sat radio - all the luxury items. In europe diesels are more common. Jaguar has a twin turbo diesel they tested on Top Gear that got 50 some mpg highway. That was a twin turbo v6 that Jeremey Clarke had to turn the heated seats on, the air conditioning way up and all the other items on to try and ruin the milage (he did not want to win the race to blackpool lol - he was trying to get it to run out of gas near his home so he could go home). as much as the hybrid idea is popular here - it is not ecomically feasable as batteries cost an arm and a leg. Electric is a bust too as we are still burining fossil feul to get that electric power (or nuclear - eek).

by Anonymousreply 3710/14/2012

Tough shit, CUNT/R36! Hope you die in a gas fire!

by Anonymousreply 3810/14/2012

Gas is only $4.99, OP. What are you talking about?

by Anonymousreply 3910/14/2012

[quote]Are you going to fill up?

The coffers? But of course!

by Anonymousreply 4010/14/2012

What a dummy {20} is...the general trend (even all through the Bush presidency is up! Dumb ass.
