If you can watch this without crying

Then you may not have a soul.

Great music video by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

I hope that some of the hip hop artists that support gay rights will push this song.

Thanks for posting it; really touching video.

by Anonymousreply 110/03/2012

Some of us cry way too easily.

by Anonymousreply 210/03/2012

Nice!

Thanks, OP.

by Anonymousreply 310/03/2012

I can watch many things without crying, OP.

by Anonymousreply 410/03/2012

So fugly made me wanna cry

by Anonymousreply 510/03/2012

I'm very glad you posted that here, but the eldergays around here don't like "race" music.

by Anonymousreply 610/03/2012

Technically I'm an eldergay, so your theory is shit R6.

by Anonymousreply 710/03/2012

I didn't cry. It wasn't sad.

by Anonymousreply 810/03/2012

I'm crying as I type this

If you havent heard the "Thrift Shop" song yet, you must be living under a rock. Macklemore released their music video "same love" back in October and has already been seen 23 million times on Youtube. Check out what they had to say about their inspiration for making the song and if you havent seen it yet, you have to watch it.

That's just a beautiful song. Even without the gay message (though that makes it damn near perfect). Hip hop can be so powerful when done right, maybe the most powerful of any genre of music, because it affords the artist more lyrical room to develop a narrative.

by Anonymousreply 1103/06/2013

tl;dr

by Anonymousreply 1203/06/2013

So obnoxiously phrased, OP. Why can't you just say, "I found this really moving"?

by Anonymousreply 1303/06/2013

THAT made you cry? Oy.

by Anonymousreply 1403/06/2013

Favorite music video ever, and its actually really good music

by Anonymousreply 1503/06/2013

eyeroll

by Anonymousreply 1603/06/2013

I did not cry. I guess listening to the song isn't enough. I *listen* to music first in order to decide whether I want my memory to be infected with the video.

This one didn't pass the test. It epically failed. It was an epic failure. Actually, there was nothing epic about it. It was just kind of ho-fucking-hum.

by Anonymousreply 1703/06/2013

No soul.

But I already knew that.

by Anonymousreply 1803/06/2013

It was alright.

by Anonymousreply 1903/06/2013

His flow is so terrible. His heart's in the right place, and the video is...nicely shot...but the lyrics are so terrible, and again, he's a terrible, terrible rapper.

by Anonymousreply 2003/06/2013

Also, to the OP: This folk rap thing that Macklemore's doing is light-years away from modern hip hop. I don't see many MCs "pushing" this.
