"Dr." Drew's new Rehab show - 10/3

I just watched fifteen minutes of it. Four, maybe five minutes of actual show and ten minutes of promos and ads.

Just confirms that you're a fucking fraud, "Dr." Drew.

by Anonymousreply 3211/06/2012

A couple of the wanna-be celebrity guys are hot.

by Anonymousreply 110/03/2012

Wait, half of his "patients" OD. I thought this show was long gone. Who has a death wish and signed on?

by Anonymousreply 210/03/2012

Normal people? Pssh. Not watching.

by Anonymousreply 310/03/2012

They're just as fucked up as the celebrities. The biggest douche is that 44 year old guy Stefanos who is dragging down that 22 year old girl. He has guyliner and dyed beard stubble.

by Anonymousreply 410/03/2012

The top-hatted douche is annoying.

by Anonymousreply 510/03/2012

Does he have a license?

by Anonymousreply 610/03/2012

Dr Drew is a physician - he concentrated in internal medicine, but has many years of dealing with people with addictions.

by Anonymousreply 710/03/2012

"Dr" Phil versus "Dr" Drew - which one is the bigger fraud?

by Anonymousreply 810/03/2012

"Dr" Phil versus "Dr" Drew - which one is the bigger DOUCHE?

by Anonymousreply 910/03/2012

Dr Phil has a Phd in psychology, had his own business in the legal field as an analyst participating in court proceedings and trials, and did counseling for many years as a psychologist.

by Anonymousreply 1010/03/2012

^ But didn't he get his degree from one of those diploma mills? Or am I confusing him with Dr. Laura?

by Anonymousreply 1110/03/2012

Anyone want to take bets on which patient will be the first to die?

by Anonymousreply 1210/03/2012

No, R11, definitely not - no diploma from a diploma mill.

Dr Drew obtained an MD from Univ of Southern California and did a residency after that.

Dr Phil obtained a Phd from Univ of Northern Texas.

Have you never heard of wikipedia, R11?

Go to and type in the following:

Dr. Drew Pinsky, M.D. is a practicing Physician, Board Certified in Internal and Addiction Medicine.

by Anonymousreply 1410/03/2012

[quote]Dr. Drew Pinsky, M.D. is a practicing Physician, Board Certified in Internal and Addiction Medicine.

And yet his "patients" still OD and die.

by Anonymousreply 1510/03/2012

[quote]Dr. Drew Pinsky, M.D. is a practicing Physician, Board Certified in Internal and Addiction Medicine.

The operative word being "practicing"

by Anonymousreply 1610/03/2012

Dr. Drew's mother was a Ziegfeld show girl - for realz.

by Anonymousreply 1710/04/2012

Who cares, Adam? His patients die anyway.

by Anonymousreply 1810/04/2012

That douche at R4 (Stefanos?) is the douchiest douche that has ever douched. What a poser. Poor man's Tommy Lee.

Stay classy, Dr. Drew!

by Anonymousreply 1910/06/2012

I hate both of them and wish they had a suicide pact.

They drive my opinion of doctors even lower that it already was.

by Anonymousreply 2010/06/2012

R20, I see you are not very knowledgeable.

Dr Phil is not a 'doctor'. He is not a physician.

He has a Phd in psychology.

A Phd is a Doctor of Philosophy degree - his Phd happens to be in psychology.

A doctor is a physician with an MD degree.

(or an osteopath or chiropracter with respective degrees)

by Anonymousreply 2110/06/2012

When it comes to addictions, no matter what their degrees or level of professional expertise, the doctor can't MAKE the patient be cured--that's up to the individual. If they're not willing to do the work, it ain't gonna happen.

by Anonymousreply 2210/06/2012

R22 is correct. Addicts die all the time, even ones who get the best professional help. It's a long tough battle to remain sober. A sober addict will always carry psych demons around in his head forever.

Talk to any addiction doctor. They have only a handful of true success cases.

The first day at AA, they tell you the odds of you going back to your self destructive ways. Very high. That's why the mantra is one day at a time. Nobody has to commit to sobriety for longer than today.

I think Dr Drew probably cringes at the topics he has to cover on his talk show, but knows that sensationalism is required for ratings.

by Anonymousreply 2310/07/2012

If Dr. Drew actually cringes at the stuff he has to do for his show, I know a good way he can avoid it.

by Anonymousreply 2410/07/2012

They are both ambulance chasers who make money on televison based on other people's stuggles.

by Anonymousreply 2510/07/2012

Ignorant R25, the idea is that seeing the problems and struggles of people on the show helps lots of people who are watching.

by Anonymousreply 2610/07/2012

R26 will do anything for a buck.

by Anonymousreply 2710/07/2012

"Hoarders" has always bothered me more than "Celebrity Rehab" with the idea that - "We'll help you if we can also humiliate you on air."

by Anonymousreply 2810/07/2012

by Anonymousreply 2910/07/2012

Dr Drew is hot at least.

by Anonymousreply 3010/07/2012

The guy called Drewbie is so cute, but he's so fucked up.

Once in a while he's shown that he can be a team player and be supportive of the others there with him, but he seems to have no personal drive to do any work to clean himself up.

by Anonymousreply 3111/05/2012

A classic take on Dr. Drew

Yes, he's an admitted substance abuser, but fuck is this spot on.
