Yes or no?
Marilu Henner: crazy?
|by Anonymous||reply 85||07/25/2014|
Perfectly sane, thank you very much!
And I will NEVER forget you asked!!!
|by Anonymous||reply 1||09/28/2012|
Irrelevant these days, but that parlor trick with the dates is cool.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||09/28/2012|
She actually had some talent. She's very funny in the episode of "Taxi" where Elaine gets the horrible haircut by the master stylist, played by Ted Danson.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||09/28/2012|
She was really good on Taxi and a few other things. Gorgeous, too. She was carrying a few extra lbs on Taxi, but I think she looked good chunky.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||09/29/2012|
Let's just say you wouldn't want to be opposite her in a knife fight.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||09/29/2012|
I read some of her first memoir. She's super slutty and quite proud of it. She does seem kind of nutty. These days she puts out self-help books about nutrition and weight loss, but I wouldn't listen to her advice, or ANY celebrity's advice, on anything.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||09/29/2012|
She's kind of new agey, but she's not crazy. She's also really sharp.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||09/29/2012|
She was simply dreadful in the tour of the revival of "Annie Get Your Gun."
Bitch could barely carry a tune in a Birkin bag.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||09/29/2012|
She speaks really fast.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||09/29/2012|
[quote]Bitch could barely carry a tune in a Birkin bag.
But I NEVER forgot my lines!
|by Anonymous||reply 10||09/29/2012|
I wonder how her kids turned out. Several years ago she wrote some parenting books as though she was an expert on child rearing. Her theme was "tough love" and one of the books was called "I refuse to raise a brat."
I can't stand self righteous celebs who try to "life coach" everyone else. I'd laugh like hell if her now adult kids were fucked up.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||09/29/2012|
She makes bat shit look sane.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||09/29/2012|

Worked with her for over a year and love her. She's a hard worker, a kind person and yes, a little crazy. Great dancer, good actress and so-so singer at best. Annie Get Your Gun was a big mistake, but she was VG in Chicago.
Her kid nutrition book is really quite good. I've given it to friends who raved about it.
I'm shocked the DL is hating on a book about refusing to raise a brat!!
|by Anonymous||reply 16||09/29/2012|
R16 - what time period did you work with her?
|by Anonymous||reply 17||09/29/2012|
She has that brain disorder where she remembers everything she sees, ever. She consults on the show Fringe, I think. Pretty funny.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||09/29/2012|
In her memoir she talks at length about her long on-again, off again relationship with "Johnny" Travolta.
According to her he was quite the stud, and they had a very active sex life. They would hole up in hotel rooms "doing the things Johnny liked to do (butt-fucking?)." They finally parted ways when Travolta sadly admitted that he couldn't give her what she needed in a relationship (like a heterosexual husband?). I tend to think that it was Travolta's liking for homosex that prevented him from making a committment to her. Of course he married so quickly it would make your head spin after one of his male lovers sold his story to the National Enquirer.
I wonder if she's ever commented on the gay rumors about him? Probably not. But she'd probably say something like he was REALLY heterosexual with ME, anyway!
|by Anonymous||reply 19||09/30/2012|
Early 90's, R17.
I had very little to do with her but did interact with her once a week or so for over a year. I was exactly the kind of nobody most stars forget. I've run into her 4 times over the past 20 years and she (of course) remembers my name, where we worked together, what my partner does, etc etc. It must be bizarre for her, but she uses it for good, (in my experience) and I like her.
Her kids would meet the DL standard of polite, well-behaved children from the 50's!
|by Anonymous||reply 20||09/30/2012|
She has a lot of good advice.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||09/30/2012|
Who did she have kids with?
|by Anonymous||reply 22||09/30/2012|
She was actually one of the first public figures to talk about the alleged benefits of low carb eating/food combining. I remember her coming on Joan Rivers way back in the early 90's describing her diet plan.
She also would have been a perfect Jean Grey/"Phoenix" if the X-Men film that was planned in the early 1980's had gotten off the ground.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||09/30/2012|
Exercising in Perfect
|by Anonymous||reply 24||12/30/2012|
Just a scenario for discussion: let's say that 30 years ago Marilu and I filmed some episodes of the "$100K Pyramid", and we seemed to get along fine, but what if then -just for instance - I bumped into her at an Exxon station and she had no idea who I was. And what if, possibly, I explained to her that we filmed Dick's pyramid game together in '84, and she said something like "No, sorry, you must have me confused with someone else."
Would something like that offend you? You know, if it were to happen?
|by Anonymous||reply 25||12/31/2012|
R20 doesn't she claim to have one of those rare memories where she remembers every day of her life?
|by Anonymous||reply 26||12/31/2012|
She was lying, R125.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||12/31/2012|
I vaguely remember Tony Danza admitting on Howard Stern years ago that he used to give her anal. I think most of those "Taxi" guys had her.
I loved that cheesy male-strippers-stalked-by-a-crazed-killer TV movie "Ladykillers" that she starred in in the late '80s. Her male co-star was none other than "Melrose Place"'s Thomas Calabro!
|by Anonymous||reply 28||12/31/2012|
Mmmmmmmmmm, Thomas Calabro.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||12/31/2012|
No, OP. I don't think she's crazy at all.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||12/31/2012|
She's a creepy scientologist.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||12/31/2012|
I thought I remember her her bragging in some interview about sleeping with most of her Taxi costars....Tony Danza, Judd Hirsh, Jeff Conaway, even Christopher Lloyd.
But, surprisingly, not Danny DeVito.
|by Anonymous||reply 32||12/31/2012|
"But, surprisingly, not Danny DeVito."
You mean not surprisingly. R32
|by Anonymous||reply 33||01/01/2013|
Crazy....her energy exhausts me watching her.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||05/05/2013|
Memory is the foundation of learning. She has perfect memory. Yet she's an actress and not even an A-Lister. She never put her brain to work in something that most can do without perfect memory.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||05/05/2013|
She sure is. She thinks dairy is the cause of all health problems.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||05/05/2013|
Her memory is un real. She can remember every moment of her life, what date it was, what she was wearing etc...even day of week.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||05/05/2013|
I met her a few times and worked w/ her peripherally in the business. She's very bright, very organized, very motivated, a talented dancer. She had two boys w/ a Jewish TV director. She was raised Catholic in Chicago. Her parents died young (50ish) due to poor health, poor diets. She had a weight problem growing up and in her 30s, 40s really researched good nutritional practices for better health for her. It worked and she's spread the Gospel since. Her amazing, sharp memory is absolutely true and uncanny. She's warm and funny. You would not want to be on her bad side though. Fiery redhead and all.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||05/05/2013|
It's almost supernatural to have that gift. I'm not sure I would want that kind of memory. There are things in my past I want to forget. I don't know how she deals with remembering every detail of the worst days of her life.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||05/05/2013|
R38 - She was kind of chubby on Taxi. Gorgeous, but had a few extra pounds.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||05/05/2013|
I will give her this: she had the ONLY truly funny moment in the film version of "Noises Off" when she races through backstage in a panic and onto stage beaming and saying her line as if all is good. Okay, maybe you had to be there but then you'd have to watch the movie, so not worth it.
I honestly think all her "dating" co-stars didn't help her career, made her look like a bimbo... but really she was a good 70s era comedienne.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||05/05/2013|
"I thought I remember her her bragging in some interview about sleeping with most of her Taxi costars....Tony Danza, Judd Hirsh, Jeff Conaway, even Christopher Lloyd."
Wasn't Jeff Conaway gay? Doesn't DL think Tony Danza is gay too?
Christopher Lloyd?! eeek! She certainly was a horny wench! While waiting around on the "Taxi" set, she probably humped the sofa in her trailer!
|by Anonymous||reply 42||05/05/2013|
I agree with not wanting that memory. I have an insanely good memory. It helped in school for sure and it's come in handy. But remembering all the damage of my childhood? I hate it. If mine were as good as hers, I would just loathe everyday.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||05/05/2013|
I met her when I was an usher for the premier of the film, Rugrats, at the Chinese theatre. She was with her little children (years ago) and complained that there weren't any ass gaskets in the ladies room.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||05/05/2013|
You should have seen her on Celebrity Apprentice tonight - she was acting like being on that show was the most important thing in her life!
|by Anonymous||reply 45||05/05/2013|
thirsty... a has been, a beggar... lol@her love affair with travolta. btw, jeff conaway and tony danza are gay? ok well, i just read on here christopher lloyd! is too, so... she went and fucked 3 gay guys from taxi then travolta?!
|by Anonymous||reply 46||05/05/2013|
She continues to do a lot of guest appearances in sitcoms and even some dramas. She was even in an episode of NUMB3RS with Judd.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||05/05/2013|
R34 Yes, her energy level is wild. She's an Aries all right. I like her for some reason. I'm watching her on The Celebrity Apprentice.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||05/05/2013|
Bob Costas testing Marilu's memory asks her what she was doing the day Armstrong stepped on the moon.
Kind of abad question, as everyone above a certain age would remember what they were doing.
But Marilu's answer was unexpected. - that's the day she lost her virginity.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||05/05/2013|
Marilu is on a roll! Guest starring on the top-rated Two and Half Men!
|by Anonymous||reply 50||05/09/2013|
I think she is a bit kooky but not crazy
A friend did her diet and it did work but he fell off the wagon and went back to fat
|by Anonymous||reply 51||05/09/2013|
I liked her in Taxi and some other TV appearances, but I don't really believe her memory claim - or anyone that would make it.
|by Anonymous||reply 52||05/09/2013|
R51 - The diet worked for Marilu.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||05/09/2013|
R51 here. For Marilu it was a change in lifestyle. The basics of it makes total sense. I've not met her but I have seen her in person . She looks great .
He didn't change his.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||05/10/2013|
Did they explain on 2.5 Men how she could be Hilary Duff's grandmother? Were they supposed to be from Kentucky?
|by Anonymous||reply 55||05/10/2013|
[quote]Did they explain on 2.5 Men how she could be Hilary Duff's grandmother? Were they supposed to be from Kentucky?
It's possible. Marilu is 61 and Hilary is 25. If Marilu's character had a baby at 18, and then that child had a baby at 18, Marilu would have been 36 at that time. Subtract 36 from 61, and you get 25 - Hilary's age.
|by Anonymous||reply 56||05/11/2013|
no, just self involved.
|by Anonymous||reply 57||12/04/2013|
R55 - Marilu's character explained it. Hillary's character was supposed to be younger than 25 too.
|by Anonymous||reply 58||12/04/2013|
I have all her books.
|by Anonymous||reply 59||12/04/2013|
Henner's spoof on all the celebs who have been in CHICAGO (herself included) is pretty funny.
|by Anonymous||reply 60||12/04/2013|
very funny but she looks anorexic in that clip.
|by Anonymous||reply 61||12/04/2013|
R61- If not anorexic, much thinner.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||12/04/2013|
If she is crazy, she would have every right to be so. 60 Minutes did a story about people like her who remember everything. One of the other people who had that gift (?) of remembering everything, said that you remember every bad thing like it was just yesterday. So every death, every breakup, every sad moment of your life was just as fresh as if it had just happened, even if it was 20 years ago.
|by Anonymous||reply 63||12/04/2013|
yeah, but she gets to relive Judd Hirsch going down on her.
|by Anonymous||reply 64||12/04/2013|
Marilu and Judd worked well together.
|by Anonymous||reply 65||12/04/2013|
they had great chemistry. Taxi is way better than Seinfeld.
|by Anonymous||reply 66||12/04/2013|
R66 - Taxi held up better than Seinfeld.
Who did Marilu sleep with? Judd and Jeff obviously. Tony? Danny?
|by Anonymous||reply 67||12/04/2013|
Whoever stated she has a brain disorder is very wrong. In fact she is gifted.
Her energy used to drive me nuts but now that I'm aware of her condition I find her fascinating.
|by Anonymous||reply 68||12/04/2013|
I recall she wrote a book or article that Travolta and her were having sex all over the place. Pure fiction.
|by Anonymous||reply 69||12/04/2013|
per Marilu only Tony and Judd.
|by Anonymous||reply 70||12/04/2013|
She won over Bebe in Chicago so that's gotta say something about her personality.
Saw her in a play called Social Security back in the....80's? She took a role that Marlo Thomas couldn't do anything with and turned it into something funny.
Count me among her fans.
|by Anonymous||reply 71||12/04/2013|
she needs to get a sitcom on TV Land.
|by Anonymous||reply 72||12/04/2013|
She can also sing and dance
|by Anonymous||reply 73||12/04/2013|
She's razor sharp smart, funny and does not suffer fools. Crazy? Like a fox.
|by Anonymous||reply 74||12/04/2013|
she should have won The Apprentice.
|by Anonymous||reply 75||12/04/2013|
She's a Scientologist. I can't imagine how to get from that to "not crazy."
|by Anonymous||reply 76||12/04/2013|
Not only was she smart but she conducted herself with dignity.
|by Anonymous||reply 77||12/04/2013|
I agree with both of you, she she should have been The Apprentice winner.
She is most definitely NOT a Scientologist.
|by Anonymous||reply 78||12/04/2013|
they keep rejecting her for Dancing With The Stars.
|by Anonymous||reply 79||12/04/2013|
Really R79? With her personality and energy level especially, she'd be perfect for Dancing with the Stars.
|by Anonymous||reply 80||12/04/2013|
|by Anonymous||reply 81||12/04/2013|
Perhaps she too trained for them...
|by Anonymous||reply 82||12/04/2013|
She would be great for The Biggest Loser.
|by Anonymous||reply 83||12/04/2013|
like a fox!
|by Anonymous||reply 84||12/07/2013|
Bump for the Taxi talk.
|by Anonymous||reply 85||07/25/2014|
