Are you a Clothes Horse?

And how much clothes do you have?

Is your closet stuffed and overflowing with stuff?

by Anonymousreply 710/07/2012

No, but my horse wears clothes.

I got much clothes.

by Anonymousreply 209/21/2012

No, but I've been told I'm hung like a horse. Does that count?

Having the proper clothing for the proper activity does not make you a clotheshorse.

If your body doesn't change over the years, the few purchases you make per year add up to many clothes.

Plus, if you favor a few designers who exist outside of trends, you tend to accumulate more of their product.

Also, if you take time to reclassify your clothing based on wear, you don't have as much to donate or throw away. That shirt you purchased for work, eventually becomes a casual shirt. As it frays, you use it for messy projects until it's nothing more than a rag for cleaning metal or brushes.

My 12-foot closet is very full, yet I'm not a clothes horse. I like to thrift and bargain shop, and I'm constantly buying new and donating.

You're not a clothes horse if you didn't spend real money.

I went through a period of haunting thrift stores and hoarding clothes. I couldn't resist paying 50 cents for a new pair of non-wrinkle Dockers (who could?). But I eventually ended up with nowhere else to store these things.

I have about 50 tie-dye t-shirts.
