Borderlands 2

Mightnight release tonight! The Game Stop was packed. And a surprising number of HOT guys too. One total stud (talking porn/model quality) was wearing a "Fed Sex" shirt... take-off on FedEx logo... and walked out with his copy of Borderlands as I came in. He must have been one of the first in line.

I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY!

Borderlands 1 rocked.

People actually shill for video games on this board?

by Anonymousreply 109/18/2012

R1, why do idiots like presume everything is a shill? Have you ever heard of a fan? Jesus...

by Anonymousreply 209/18/2012

Anyone?

by Anonymousreply 309/20/2012

Me too, OP. Borderlands 1 was phenomenal, have been looking forward to 2 for months.

by Anonymousreply 409/20/2012

How old are you people, 12?

by Anonymousreply 509/20/2012

R5 = complete fucking moron, so out of touch he thinks video games are "kids things".

Do you say "What are you, 12" to people who go to movies too?

What the hell is wrong with you?

The vast majority of video game players are in their 30s and 40s.

by Anonymousreply 609/20/2012

That t-shirt graphic has to knock down some of his hotness, op.

by Anonymousreply 709/20/2012

And, R5, video games is now a far bigger industry than movies. Kids alone don't have the bucks to do that.

Borderlands has a sophisticated combination of art design, character, story, humor, strategy, and loot acquisition. Really quite brilliant.

by Anonymousreply 809/20/2012

"I'm rackin' my brain trying to think of a name for that diamond pony I bought. I was gonna call it 'piss-for-brains' in horn or of you, but that just feels immature. Maybe…'Butt Stallion'"

Handsome Jack is such a DICK!

by Anonymousreply 909/20/2012

Unfortunately, I swore to only play this co-op with a friend, which means I only get about 3 hours a week to play. Sigh.

by Anonymousreply 1009/21/2012

So far, it's delivering. I like most of the changes.

by Anonymousreply 1109/22/2012

I'm loving it as well. One of the best releases this year.

by Anonymousreply 1209/22/2012

Just bought Borderlands 1 with the expansion packs. Is it worth playing with my partner or should I hoof it alone?

by Anonymousreply 1309/22/2012

You can do both.

Best thing about Borderlands is that you can have multiple active characters/games going at the same time.

I have one "co-op" game/character that I'm playing iwth a friend, and a separate solo game/character that I'm playing on my own.

You can have as many characters and games going as you want, really.

So my answer is: BOTH!

by Anonymousreply 1409/22/2012

This ain't no place for a hero...

by Anonymousreply 1509/22/2012

That song was stuck in my head for weeks, R15.

by Anonymousreply 1609/23/2012

LOL [R9]

by Anonymousreply 1709/23/2012

Really getting into it. I like the Commando the best so far, though the Siren is a close second.

by Anonymousreply 1809/23/2012

Playing Guild Wars 2, and old school Vanguard.

by Anonymousreply 1909/23/2012

R20, stop being a moron and braying your ignorance all over the place.

I refer you back to R6 and R8. And remind you that you're damn pathetic.

by Anonymousreply 2109/24/2012

I've only made it to Sanctuary (and done a few quests from there, including the assassins and firehawk), and I think it's going to be my new favorite game ever.

by Anonymousreply 2210/04/2012

So, it's kind of funny... Friday night, and I sit down to play Borderlands, and notice at least half my XBox-Live "Friends" are doing the same :-)

by Anonymousreply 2310/06/2012

Oh, you kids with your new-fangled games. I'm still playing 'God of War,' (and get my ass kicked by a pack of Cerberus dogs... Cerberi???)

by Anonymousreply 2410/06/2012

R24 again. At this rate, I'll get around to Borderlands sometime in 2014! What's so great about it?

by Anonymousreply 2510/06/2012

Borderlands and Borderlands 2 are sort of the perfect blending of RPG (character classes, skill trees, leveling, quests), First Person Shooters, and "loot" games like Diablo 2.

It's also got a great sense of humor.

It's all about killing things with guns, finding loot, finding better guns, looting, kill, guns, and blowing shit up. It's fast, it's fun, and it gets even better with the best co-op mode I've seen in any game (the game is actually MORE fun to play with friends).

If you absolutely hated Diablo or various first person shooters like Half-Life, then it's probably not your game. But trust me, it's fun. Lots of easter-eggs, little challenges, random references to pop-culture/sci-fi...

And it's got some great music too.

by Anonymousreply 2610/06/2012

"It's all about killing things with guns, finding loot, finding better guns, looting, kill, guns, and blowing shit up."

I like video games, but if that's what this one is about, then I'm out. That sequence sounds totally asinine.

by Anonymousreply 2710/06/2012

R27, um.... what do you want video games to be about? Honestly, I think what you just wrote sounds laughably ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 2810/06/2012

How is it extremely valid? What video games [italic]aren't[/italic] about shooting stuff?

If you described Mario in a sentence or two, it'd sound monumentally boring too, wouldn't it? "You basically run left or right, dumping on things and collecting coins." Yeah, sounds great doesn't it?

How can you judge something without knowing anything about it? Borderlands is anything BUT dull. It's hilarious, challenging, and fun.

I'm not defensive, I'm just sorta incredulous that someone would so inaccurately judge a book by its cover like that, without having the slightest clue what they're talking about. It's one of the most fun games I've played.

It's not like there's no plot. There's great writing, great characters, and fun missions. But yes, it's about loot... it strokes the reward centers of the brain really well, much like Diablo 2 did. There's lots of fun running around the massive world, discovering new things as well.

by Anonymousreply 3010/06/2012

My BF just got Borderlands 2 and has buttload of other ps3 games. He wanted me to ask if any of you would post your tags. He wants to play with DL Gamers

His PSN ID is-

I wreck cars

by Anonymousreply 3210/06/2012

[quote]...doesn't make it sound all that great.

Sounds great to me.

And sorry R32, but I'm on XBox... and already have four games going anyway (one co-op play, three solo-play, ... one game for each character class)

by Anonymousreply 3310/06/2012

It would sound great to you, R33. You have made approximately half of the posts in this thread.

by Anonymousreply 3410/06/2012

Yeah, but you take one sentence out of context, and ignore all the others, about the great music, great sense of humor, etc. Whatever. Why are you even in a thread to hate on a game you've never heard of, never seen, know nothing about, and have no interest in every playing anyway? Just to be a wet blanket? Is that the game YOU like to play? Sounds dull.

by Anonymousreply 3510/06/2012

anyone online now and want to play

by Anonymousreply 3610/07/2012

Okay... tonight was hilarious! An entire mission was based on the volleyball scene in Top Gun. This game is [italic]awesome[/italic]!

by Anonymousreply 3710/08/2012

How do you play?

by Anonymousreply 3810/08/2012

... I don't understand your question, R38.

by Anonymousreply 3910/08/2012

I'm playing a Badass game right now look me up I_wreck_cars on PS

by Anonymousreply 4010/08/2012

As if playing four simulatenous games of Borderlands 2 wasn't enough... they came out with a new character as a downloadable extra... now I'm playing FIVE simultaneous games!

This game [italic]owns[/italic] me.

by Anonymousreply 4110/13/2012

The Mechromancer rocks.

by Anonymousreply 4210/16/2012

New DLC out today! And I'm not even done with the base-game!
