Tom Jones dances like HELL.

by Anonymousreply 1208/16/2012

by Anonymousreply 1608/16/2012

This would make even Nan Michiganwomyn feel like mincing about.

by Anonymousreply 1708/16/2012

Delicious. And increasingly outrageous as the gay Michael Barrymore meets the army.

Chlo gets a noo bo'um.

by Anonymousreply 1908/16/2012

One of the most famous moments on British TV. It never gets old. (note for yanks: the previous presenter was Norman Lamont, Chancellor of the Exchequer, the UK Cabinet minister responsible for all economic and financial matters.)

by Anonymousreply 2508/16/2012

I'm not clicking on anything that doesn't give a synopsis of the video.

by Anonymousreply 2608/16/2012

Joi is trapped!

by Anonymousreply 2708/17/2012

Here is a great reaction video of a couple telling the girls family that after 3 years of trying to get pregnant, thinking that they wouldnt be able to get pregnant the traditional way, that they are in fact pregnant. Great reaction!

by Anonymousreply 2808/17/2012

by Anonymousreply 3408/17/2012

God the elders are already starting to swarm this thread with their female singers. UGH!

by Anonymousreply 3508/17/2012

The "fabulous" Anais Mitchell; the most important young American artist, sadly the tard low-brow masses will just not get her and instead listen to vulgar rap/r'n'b shit.

by Anonymousreply 3608/17/2012

R27, that was awesome! Love Joi.

by Anonymousreply 3708/17/2012

Don't forget about me, bitches!

by Anonymousreply 3808/17/2012

THE most fierce flag routine EVAH! The Village People performing "In The Navy" on the deck of a destroyer.

Epic semaphore flag drill @ about 2:00 in.

by Anonymousreply 3908/17/2012

Anais Mitchell would be so much better if she were performing R&B.

by Anonymousreply 4008/17/2012

Thank you R40, was going to check out the video until I read what R36 wrote.

by Anonymousreply 4108/17/2012

"A Pretty Girl" from "The Great Ziegfeld" courtesy of MGM 1936. The fabulousness starts about 1:30.

by Anonymousreply 5008/17/2012

Richard Simmons being used as a Prop.

by Anonymousreply 5108/17/2012

R49, love that. Everyone on the show was great but like Harvey Korman, I just look at Tim Conway and it's all over for me.

The Dentist Skit is the best! Poor Harvey spends the whole time laughing.

by Anonymousreply 5208/17/2012

Well, r50, I'll see your "Great Ziegfeld" and raise you Esther Williams in "Million Dollar Mermaid"

by Anonymousreply 5308/17/2012

Please r41, everyone knows that RnB is shit personified. In the UK only chavz listen to modern RnB. Not real rhythm and blues like Sarah Vaughan or Nina Simone, that's real RnB, the new stuff (1990 onwards) is 100,000 types of shit and them some.

by Anonymousreply 5408/17/2012

Debbie Reynolds takes the civil rights anthem "If I Had a Hammer" and drives it straight to Vegas, complete with THE queeniest chorus boy ever captured on celluloid.

Watch him "fly" off the platform at 0:45. The flames are still blinding, 50 years later.

by Anonymousreply 5508/17/2012

R23 that was different and cute!

by Anonymousreply 5608/17/2012

Sarah Vaughan was a jazz singer, dear.

by Anonymousreply 5708/17/2012

The one, the only, the FABU Ann Miller in "Small Town Girl"

by Anonymousreply 6508/17/2012

Batty but fabulously dressed alcoholics Marilyn and Royce bicker in their Skid Row hotel-apartment.

Why these two are not gay icons eludes me.

by Anonymousreply 6608/17/2012

She is fabulous because she is real and sweet and a good cook.

by Anonymousreply 6708/17/2012

That was kinda sad, R66.

by Anonymousreply 6808/17/2012

She was just a Prime Minister who wanted to become a singer and nobody seemed to notice she simply seduced a nation!

by Anonymousreply 6908/17/2012

Lip Syncing Duet. It's not YouTube, but it's still one of my favorite videos of all time.

by Anonymousreply 7008/17/2012

R66, that was like something from Ab Fab, in fact the woman in the hat talks like Patsy's mom.

by Anonymousreply 7108/17/2012

by Anonymousreply 7808/17/2012

Unforgettable performance by two gymnasts in white underpants at a White Party.

by Anonymousreply 7908/18/2012

Wow 65: perfectly staged number with an oddly charisma-free performer. No wonder she never went anywhere. And her miming is terrible.

by Anonymousreply 8008/18/2012

Now darlings, this [italic]is[/italic] truly fabulous!

by Anonymousreply 8108/18/2012

by Anonymousreply 8808/25/2012

Greg, the gay child from Curb Your Enthusiasm. Fab and funny.

by Anonymousreply 8908/25/2012

[quote] Why these two are not gay icons eludes me.

Perhaps they could've been the new Grey Gardens, but they never made a full-length movie of them. The person filming them was unknown and only filmed a few clips, so they'll remain in obscurity having both died in the last year.

by Anonymousreply 9008/25/2012

Fabulous queer eye:

by Anonymousreply 9608/25/2012

Thanks for the clip, R7! I saw the Vogueing bar mitzvah boy on Jimmy Kimmel all grown up! He's a lawyer now. I'm sure his parents are so proud of their beautiful son!

by Anonymousreply 10008/25/2012

by Anonymousreply 10108/26/2012

Would the elders please stop with their Mesozoic Era female singers and movie clips. Keep it current and funny. Enough!!

by Anonymousreply 10208/26/2012

A better YouTube thread would've specified a certain kind of video, comedy for instance. The elders could've have a separate ancient diva thread, and we'd all go our merry ways.

by Anonymousreply 10308/26/2012

Perhaps a thread specifically for dead divas, or those near death.

by Anonymousreply 10408/26/2012

That's all of them r104, if I have my way, and I will.

by Anonymousreply 10508/26/2012

A 3 or 4 year old Darla Hood singing "I'll Never Say Never Again."

by Anonymousreply 11108/26/2012

THE MYSTERY OF THE LEAPING FISH: Probably the first drug comedy ever filmed, this remarkable silent was made in 1916 by Tod Browning (director of the Lugosi DRACULA and FREAKS.) It stars Douglas Fairbanks as Coke Ennyday, a parody of Sherlock Holmes, who solves a smuggling caper at the beach in spite of a cocaine habit and an opium jag.

Must be seen to be believed. Fairbanks is hilarious, constantly shooting up then giggling, and stroking his mustache. He's also drop-dead sexy in his tank-top bathing suit at the 10:30 mark.

by Anonymousreply 11208/27/2012

r111 and r112 = Epitome of Eldergay.

r110- Rice queen freak.

by Anonymousreply 11308/27/2012

R113, I almost feel sorry for you that you are going to have to commit suicide when you turn 29 rather than mature into an elder person in his 30s.

Meeting Peter in the perk...

by Anonymousreply 11508/27/2012

Fabulously funny subject on YouTube:

by Anonymousreply 11608/27/2012

R28 posts some schlock from Hallmark and then has to post R35, R102 and R113 shitting on other posters.

What have you contributed, you cunt, except your phony "reaction" video that looks like every other twat with a phone and stick with piss on it? How about taking your Activia with a fistful of prunes and snapping a "reaction shot" for us, asshole?

by Anonymousreply 11708/27/2012

Fabulous Georgy Girl:

by Anonymousreply 11808/28/2012

Just about everything from this clip is fabulous. It's from Playboy's Roller Disco Pajama Party that aired on ABC in the Fall of '79. From the music, the clothes (what there is of them), the hair, the random celebrity in the crowd shots, and even the commercials are pure gold. It's a perfect 1979 time capsule!

by Anonymousreply 11908/29/2012

Fabulous Helen Morgan singing "Can't Help Lovin' That Man"

by Anonymousreply 12008/29/2012

And even MORE fabulous "Georgy Girl" and the one that I thought R118 would have posted-

******Bump for a question******

It's a tech question, sort of.

There are several free software programs available online that say they can take a YouTube video and convert it into an MP3 file that you can save to your computer.

Does anyone have experience with any of those programs or any advice? I'd like to be able to create MP3 music files from some YouTube vids and put them on my mobile player.

Are there programs that allow people to make an audio only mp3 from a clip off youtube? That almost seems too good to be true.

Am sick of stupid reality TV shows. Have been watching old episodes of Love Boat. (No kidding). I like the corniness and innocence of the shows. Check out this clip of Ann Miller making a simple (for Ann) entrance to the dining room.

I never saw these shows when the originally aired. I was not at home on Saturday nights back then.

by Anonymousreply 20112/14/2013

So far I'm torn between the dancing dog and the honey badger. Tough competition tonight.

This deserves its own thread, but I can't start threads. This has to be seen to be believed:

60 Minutes Australia's slimy Liam Bartlett interviews Joan Collins - the tension between them is present very early on and it gets progressively worse before Collins walks off mid-interview. Then she returns to continue the interview and is in classic Alexis mode.

When all is said and done, Bartlett is a douchebag.

by Anonymousreply 26701/06/2014

r264. I never watched Dynasty and have never thought much about Joan Collins, but I loved the interview you posted. That guy was such an incompetent asshole and she fucked him gently. A real pro! She is kind of sweet, but with no old lady about her. She just wanted him to ask better questions or have a brain. At first she tried to help him, but it was hopeless, so she had to kill him. I'm impressed.

by Anonymousreply 26801/06/2014

R268, thanks for the post. He really was a horrible, stupid, and nasty interviewer.

Collins always has been a very smart woman. She doesn't play in an interview with her ears stuffed with cotton. She listens, and she's present in a way bad interviewers can't or won't manage. There were many ways he could have salvaged each of those missteps. They even could have had fun with them. But he wouldn't, even going so far as sniping about her being a constant "one woman show," as if a 78-year-old woman with a 60-year career among interesting people and in interesting times should be a pushover for his slop, and not take a break when she wants one.

He really is scum. And it's not like I'm a big fan of her.

by Anonymousreply 26901/06/2014

Pivoting from Joan Collins to Judy Collins, live vocal/piano, this song/story is just absolutely sublime. Cradle your coffee mug and drink it in.

Colorado, an approaching blizzard, a mountainside cafe, a dark-headed stranger...

by Anonymousreply 27001/06/2014

I've never been an Alexis groupie (lost interest in Dynasty when it became high camp), but I love Joan Collins as an entertaining personality. Unlike alot of her peers, she really appears to enjoy being herself and does anything she wants. And she's always a great guest on talk shows.

Liam Barlett had two things lodged in his head with this interview: the bitch label and the glamour queen of the Golden Age. The former she has talked to death about, and the latter he is very off about. He's referring to her like she is from Garbo or Dietrich's era. He wasn't all that involved in knowing her, and she sensed that. Loved to have seen the entire uncut interview to find out where it rally all started to go wrong. Barlett and his producers had the advantage in making it seem like there was nothing to hide by showing their tense conflict, but it still comes off as being manipulated to paint her as a "bitch". Barlett just comes off as a cold-hearted self-righteous bully.

by Anonymousreply 27101/06/2014

Am I wrong in thinking how great this stuff is?

Beth Hart.

One of the most talented singer/songwriter/musicians of our time.

She is nominated for her first Grammy award after 20 years in the biz. She has a bit of Billie, a bit of Janis and a lot of gorgeous technique and feeling in her voice.

Lots of drugs and some mental illness kept her back, but she has been a big star in Europe. California girl, rough chick, beautiful performer. She had a big moment at last years Kennedy Center Honors, singing the Etta James classic, "I'd Rather Go Blind."

NEW YORK—Tragedy struck at a popular Manhattan nightclub Saturday, when the roof, the roof, the roof of The Tunnel caught fire, collapsing and killing 43 party people.

According to fire-department officials, the death toll was exacerbated by the clubgoers' unwillingness to evacuate the burning building.

"I tried shouting to the people on the dance floor that the roof was on fire and that they should exit the premises immediately, but they seemed unfazed by the danger," firefighter Michael Pitti said. "I just kept shouting, 'The roof! The roof! The roof is on fire!' and so forth, but they just went right on dancing, insisting that they didn't need any of our water and that we should let the motherfucker burn."

The party people's refusal to exit the flame-engulfed nightclub is widely believed to have been the result of DJ Phreek Malik's unstoppable mix of the hottest house, funk, hip-hop, disco, jungle and techno beats.

"DJ Phreek Malik was spinning in a manner so hot, these party people were willing to give up their lives for a few extra minutes on the dance floor," New York City fire commissioner Thomas Von Essen said. "Even as a 50-foot-high wall of flames surged toward them, they continued to dance, throwing their hands in the air and waving them as if they just didn't care."

As flames continued to fill the nightclub, firefighters frantically urged the revelers to keep low to the ground to avoid smoke inhalation, but the warnings were universally ignored.

"I was screaming at the top of my lungs, 'Get down! Get down, party people!'" said Garry Hodges of Ladder Company 42, "but the more I shouted out, the harder they danced."

Though an FDNY investigation is still pending, the deadly blaze is believed to have begun at 11:40 p.m., when a roof-mounted ventilation system short-circuited, igniting the motherfucker. The fire is New York's deadliest since 1978, when 117 party people burned, baby, burned to death in a South Bronx disco inferno.

At least it wasn't a grease fire. I like the guitarist on the right with the rounded afro that makes his head look like a bowling ball. He gets only brief video time.

At the risk of appearing in that "fans we love to mock" thread, I'm linking to another cheesy Geschwister Hofmann clip. But it's only my second, so maybe it'll be safe.

Anita and Alexandra are great, as always, but keep an eye on the dancers who appear at 0:45.

Whew, what butts on those guys!
