Ang Lee's "Life of Pi"

The trailer is out (over on ... looks really well done.

Anyone excited to see it?

No. For the most part, I enjoyed the book, but don't know how all of Pi's internal dialogue will transfer to the big screen. The movie looks good, but appears to be heavily padded.

Looks about as exciting as his version of "The Incredible Hulk"

And by "looks good", I meant, visually.

Thanks for the link.

Hugely excited. Ang is in the top five directors working today. This is going to be an extraordinary and beautiful movie.

Does something bad happen to the tiger at the end?

Only rice queens.

by Anonymousreply 811/18/2012

Ang actually did a good job with pacing in "The Ice Storm." No movie since has done well. He's going to end up like Bertolucci, maker of epics that nobody can stand to sit through.

Tiger looks fake.

by Anonymousreply 1011/18/2012

Does the tiger make it?

Will I cry?

by Anonymousreply 1111/18/2012

Does the tiger get turned into a fabulous coat?

by Anonymousreply 1211/18/2012

Kid's a little too old.

by Anonymousreply 1311/18/2012

Was the screenplay plot lifted from a more obscure British screenplay, where Ang Lee felt that only his true genius could do justice to the film, and so it did not matter that the entire original plot was someone else's story?

I'm excited to see it.

I'm going to try to see this tomorrow. Wish me luck.

I want to see slobbering monkey

by Anonymousreply 1611/20/2012

Too spiritual / religious for me.

by Anonymousreply 1711/20/2012

I loved it. The tiger (a combination of digital and real) is phenomenal.

by Anonymousreply 1811/25/2012

Visually stunning, but pretentious and the first 30 mins is very dull..

by Anonymousreply 1901/02/2013

Loved it.
