You know what, R30, I've never seen a single instance where Obama said what you accuse him of saying. I know this is a popular concept among the Republican base, notorious for their stupidy and lack of familiarity with the truth.
But honestly, if you think about it, President Obama was truly forced to go on a International tour to repair the unilateral, offensive crap the Bush Administration instigated. Bush/Cheney managed to offend everyone and felt threats and wars were a diplomatic solution.
You may be blssed with the convenience of a bad memory, but I know, especially from work travel abroad during that period, especially from 2005 on, that the USA was held in very low regard.
When we were faced with a major financial crisis that impacted the rest of the world markets, and we needed their goodwill and cooperation as never before, President Obama was not apologetic.
He was conciliatory, because we needed cooperation that Bush/Cheney pissed away. When I think back to all the goodwill the Bush administration screwed up in the aftermath of 9/11, with their infantile "freedom Fries" bullshit, I just shake my head at the missed opportunity.
The truth is, we were so weakened after especially by 2005, that the world discovered it could get along very well with the USA out of the game. A lack of good relationships with the rest of the world is very costly.
There are trade agreements and financial concerns that depend on goodwill and forging strong relationships. Bush's go it alone attitude might have satisfied the isolationist cretins out here, but it was very bad for our economy.
So maybe it's asking way too much, but think before you try to peddle that "apology" bullshit. When the rest of the world knows you're an asshole, you come in and say, things weren't real great between us, but let's turn the page and find some common ground to work together and cooperate. What Obama did is simply say, "We need each other."
You must think the rest of the world is as stupid as a lot of Americans. But when you push unsustainable tax cuts, and try to fund to wars, and you have Wall Street turning into Las Vegas East, it's pretty obvious that you cannot go down that road too far without major consequences.
