'Melrose Place': Where Are They Now?

The classic primetime soap opera debuted 20 years ago this month.

Photos of the original cast and what they're doing now:

by Anonymousreply 10207/24/2013

Doug Savant is the only guy who hasn't aged well.

by Anonymousreply 107/12/2012

Love Laura Leighton. She's still gorgeous.

by Anonymousreply 207/12/2012

Wait, they say Matt was killed in a car crash? I remember his last appearance was when he adopted that teenage girl and walked anticlimactically off the set, stage left, never to be heard from again.

by Anonymousreply 307/12/2012

Doug Estes is still so fucking hot.

by Anonymousreply 407/12/2012

No, R3, he was killed off screen at the beginning of season 6. Doug decided to leave the show because Matt wasn't being written as a fully developed character.

by Anonymousreply 507/12/2012

He was killed offscreen, R3.

by Anonymousreply 607/12/2012

Thanks R6, that explains it.

by Anonymousreply 707/12/2012

R3 .... Matt's offscreen death was a big part of that season's storyline. Apparently he had been the keeper of some big secrets about the other tenants and after he died, a diary or something was uncovered where he told about Amanda's past teenage troubles, etc.

I don't really remember it all that well, just that he had a bigger storyline after he died than while he was on the show. (not really ... it just seemed that way)

by Anonymousreply 807/12/2012

Oh oh oh yeah, now I remember all that. I just remembered Doug Savant's last actual appearance on the show as walking off with his new "daughter".

by Anonymousreply 907/12/2012

I think his leaving also had to do with Laura Leighton leaving at the end of season 5.

by Anonymousreply 1007/12/2012

Sorry, was reading 'Doug' when I was typing - I meant 'Rob'

by Anonymousreply 1107/12/2012

That picture of Doug doesn't do him justice. He's better looking than that. And the picture of Patrick Muldoon is also hideous. I remember him as being hawt (although not the greatest actor)...

by Anonymousreply 1207/12/2012

Muldoon has had some face work done, no ??

by Anonymousreply 1307/12/2012

Its' freaky how much the women all look so much "the same", and the men all look "a lot older"...

by Anonymousreply 1407/12/2012

Since they were good friends on the show, I always wanted too see Matt Fielding and Michael Mancini make out.

by Anonymousreply 1507/12/2012

Thomas Calabro looks like he hasn't aged at all, except he's wearing a wig (as he will readily admit).

by Anonymousreply 1607/12/2012

Kristen Davis is now on Broadway (her debut) in Gore Vidal's THE BEST MAN.

by Anonymousreply 1707/12/2012

Heather Locklear needs to lay off the fillers. She's approaching Joan Rivers territory.

by Anonymousreply 1807/12/2012

Thomas Calabro is gorgeous. He is no actor, but I would still do him in a heartbeat, toupee or no toupee.

by Anonymousreply 1907/12/2012

Toupee or no toupee, that is the question.

by Anonymousreply 2007/12/2012

Heather has been drinking in real life like Allison did on the show.

by Anonymousreply 2107/12/2012

I saw Patrick Muldoon in Trader Joe's last week. He was wearing dark basketball shorts, a gray Krav Maga t-shirt & a backwards baseball cap. He never did anything for me (lesbian), but I gotta say, he is about 100 times better-looking, in person, than he is on-screen The lighting/make-up/hairstyle people on DAYS do him no favors. He looks five years younger, in person, than he does on DAYS. The baseball cap probably helped, but it's not just that he looks younger....his face is a little more angular, his nose is not quite as wide ....

by Anonymousreply 2207/12/2012

Patrick Muldoon was not handsome, but lesbians seldom realized it when he wore a baseball cap at Trader Joe's.

by Anonymousreply 2307/12/2012

[quote]Doug Savant is the only guy who hasn't aged well.

I know, and he was my favorite.

by Anonymousreply 2407/12/2012

R22 would totally spread 'em for Patrick Muldoon, lesbian and all.

by Anonymousreply 2507/13/2012

[quote]Doug Savant is the only guy who hasn't aged well.

He looked pretty good on "Desperate Housewives".

by Anonymousreply 2607/13/2012

I guess someone is into the greasy mullet-look. To each their own.

And they say lesbians have bad taste.....

by Anonymousreply 2707/13/2012

Where is the Vanessa Williams copy-cat who was on the show??

by Anonymousreply 2807/13/2012

R28, she was already with SAG before Vanessa the Undressa. Which is why the latter added her initial "L" to her screen name.

Funny, they didn't even mention the first Ms. Williams as being on Melrose. No matter - it was a lousy show. She did much better with "Soul Food". I miss that show.

by Anonymousreply 2907/13/2012

Why does HuPo take so long to load?

by Anonymousreply 3007/13/2012

Nice to see that Rob Estes is not dying his hair. He was and still is the handsomest. He still looks hot. Wish he had more prominent TV or film work.

by Anonymousreply 3107/13/2012

Rob Estes might look more handsome now that he has a few wrinkles and with a more natural hair color. He was hot way back in his Silk Stalkings day, but with his hair died black and his flawless face he did not seem quite real.

A lot of the women look good in their still pictures, but I wonder how many of them would look a bit more artifical and botoxed if you were talking to them face to face.

by Anonymousreply 3207/13/2012

I helped Rob Estes last year. He looked really good. Piercing blue eyes, nice tan, nice hair. Shorter than I expected.

by Anonymousreply 3307/13/2012

What do you mean you "helped" him? Helped him out of his coat? Helped him with his groceries? Helped him get off?

by Anonymousreply 3407/13/2012

He got a parking ticket for parking his boat in the wrong spot, R34.

by Anonymousreply 3507/14/2012

Ha..no a real live motorboat. I'm assuming he waterskis. This happened in the Seattle area.

by Anonymousreply 3707/14/2012

What about the blonde girl who was fired, Amy Locane. Wasn't the show supposed to be about her and Grant Show?

by Anonymousreply 3807/14/2012

Amy has had some problems with the law - don't recall the details and am too lazy to look them up. Yes, her character and Jake were an item. Her character leaves, and Jo comes in. Both Billy and Jake go for her, but Jake wins.

Amy had a southern accent that would go up and down in intensity, sometimes even in a scene.

I thought Alison (Courtney Thorne Smith) was the most attractive of the women, partly for her smile and partly because she was not a twig.

by Anonymousreply 3907/14/2012

[quote]partly because she was not a twig.

Too bad you can't say the same thing about her these days.

by Anonymousreply 4007/14/2012

Agreed, R40. Courtney looks so much better a little thick. She received a bit of pressure from the network and was also insecure about her large boobs. Shame.

by Anonymousreply 4107/14/2012

Interesting that the HuffPo piece makes no mention of Heather's recent suicide attempt (although it does mention her broken engagement to Jack Wagner), nor the ugly divorce between Rob Estes and Josie Bissett.

Or that Savant and Leighton are married to each other.

This is shoddy journalism, Arianna!

by Anonymousreply 4207/14/2012

When was the Estes -Bisset divorce?

BTw, I hated Bisset's crop. She looked so much better with longer hair.

by Anonymousreply 4307/14/2012

The women look great.

by Anonymousreply 4407/15/2012

Most of them look great, even Daphne Zuniga.

I'd love to be the middle of a Grant Show-Rob Estes sandwich.

by Anonymousreply 4507/15/2012

Kimberly and Sydney were amazing characters. They really brought up everybody's game.

by Anonymousreply 4607/15/2012

Kimberly and Syd were wonderful. I think Marcia and Laura had at least as much to do with rescuing the show as special guest star Heather.

by Anonymousreply 4707/15/2012

For R43:

by Anonymousreply 4807/15/2012

Thanks R48, both of them look better than they did on the show. I like this hair style on Josie.

by Anonymousreply 4907/15/2012

I thought there was a former Melrose thread that declared Josie left Rob for a lady?

by Anonymousreply 5007/15/2012

[quote] Most of them look great, even Daphne Zuniga.

You do realize that you're talking about the most powerful woman in Hollywood, don't you?

by Anonymousreply 5107/15/2012

R51 LOL

by Anonymousreply 5207/15/2012

Pastrami on Rye!!!

by Anonymousreply 5307/15/2012

Vodka rocks

by Anonymousreply 5407/15/2012

Why is Daphne so powerful?

by Anonymousreply 5507/15/2012

I think that's a joke R55

by Anonymousreply 5607/15/2012

Hey! What about me?

by Anonymousreply 5707/15/2012

And what about me?

by Anonymousreply 5807/16/2012

Kathy Ireland was awful on Melrose Place.

But then again she was involved in a Jake story, and his were always the the worst. Always so boring.

by Anonymousreply 5907/16/2012

I didn't think Kathy was so bad. And Jake had some good story lines, though I hated the one involving Ananda's dad.

by Anonymousreply 6007/16/2012

'Calisto' from Xena: Warrior Princess had a guest appearance as well. I liked the creepy guy best who got all psycho on Sidney and Jane.

With Kimberly and Sidney leaving the show was dead. Everything after them was just 'please, please, please, let it die!'. I jumped ship when Matt Fielding left with his adpopted daughter to become involved in some HIV research project in San Francisco. That show introduced me into the token gay concept of which I never heard or read before that (I only discovered Dynasty later in reruns).

Even nowdays the leading straight guys and girls act like swingers hooking up with each other, but god forbid that one of the straight leads ever hook up with the token gay guy for a brief fling or explores their homosexual urges with another straight lead.

by Anonymousreply 6107/16/2012

The show went too far in the camp direction around season 4. It became a caricature of itself.

by Anonymousreply 6207/16/2012

I just rewatched an episode from late in the first season (after Jo, before Amanda) called Peanut Butter and Jealousy. Alison had Billy take her to a ball at D & D, but dumped him when a hot guy (who didn't know her name) took an interest to her. Jo's husband showed up, and Jo and Jake's relationship was put to the test. The Jane-Michael-Syd triangle was just starting. Good times.

by Anonymousreply 6307/26/2012

They are doing a melrose reunion on Good Morning America on Monday

by Anonymousreply 6410/06/2012

R64 - Thanks. Hope they have clips.

by Anonymousreply 6510/06/2012

Thanks for the heads up! Can't wait.

by Anonymousreply 6610/06/2012

Anyone see it?

by Anonymousreply 6710/08/2012

Tori is at another valley swap meet trying to sell Candy's custom gift wrapped boxes

by Anonymousreply 6810/08/2012

Why did Thomas Calabro refuse to participate in the Entertainment Weekly reunion photoshoot?

by Anonymousreply 6910/08/2012

What is it with Huffington Post and their constant, agist "look at how bad they look now" slideshows?

by Anonymousreply 7010/08/2012

This is so weird that this thread is on the front page of Datalounge today. Just yesterday, I was in a coffee shop in the village and Andrew Shue came in with his wife and two kids and sat down at the table directly next to me. I had not thought of Andrew Shue, probably since Melrose Place. But I have weird total recall when it comes to celebrity faces. And when he walked in and stood inline, I recognized him immediately.

The place was crowded when they arrived so him and his wife shared a seat at the table next to me and my bf. He was literally about 10" inches away, it was so packed.

Anyway, he is still very cute, somewhat better with age. Still has puppy dog eyes and all of his hair. He looked fit, a young hot dad. He was wearing sad looking slip on dress shoes with white athletic socks, but I will forgive him for that.

by Anonymousreply 7110/08/2012

That was weird that Thomas Calabro didn't take part. He's the only person who was in every episode of BOTH series. He stayed through the entire original series' run and then he was in the unsuccessful (and misguided) re-boot from the first episode on til the merciful end.

by Anonymousreply 7210/08/2012

Calabro played several characters in the sense that his Michael changed so much.

by Anonymousreply 7310/08/2012

Why didn't Michael take part? He was missed.

by Anonymousreply 7410/09/2012

Which "village" are you talking about r71?

by Anonymousreply 7510/09/2012

Laura Leighton is still absolutely delicious. Even though she's in her 40s, she still has that captivating child-woman aura.

by Anonymousreply 7610/09/2012

Kristin Davis, Lisa Lippa, Kelly Rutherford and Jamie Luner were also awesome on Melrose. Always loved the fiesty women on that show.

by Anonymousreply 7710/09/2012

Amy Locane is in jail facing a murder charge.

by Anonymousreply 7810/09/2012

There was something truly amazing about Melrose. I think it was the fact that none of the characters were romanticized. Everyone was despicable and vacuous. It was really an empathetic show in the sense that it held up a mirror to how pathetic most people ARE. In light of recent reality shows, Melrose comes off as high art.

by Anonymousreply 7910/09/2012

I laughed so hard at this:

by Anonymousreply 8010/09/2012

Nothing about Vanesssa "Not L" Williams?

by Anonymousreply 8110/09/2012

Locane is facing up to 30 years in prison for manslaughter. Apparantly she drank 8-10 drinks, got into her car and hit another car. The passenger of the other car was killed. How awful.

by Anonymousreply 8210/09/2012

Colton & Abound do the Melrose credits:

by Anonymousreply 8310/09/2012

"Shame on you, Kimberly. Filthy lust on the coach!"

by Anonymousreply 8410/09/2012

It's extremely disappointing they didn't include Vanessa Williams. She was notable for being one of the few African-American people on any show produced by Spelling. Apparently they didn't know what to do with her character and I still remember her walking off and leaving Melrose Place for the last time.

At least she hasn't had any trouble finding work in the years since her show.

by Anonymousreply 8510/09/2012

Greenwich village, R71 at this coffee shop called Grounded right off of W 4th and 8thAve

by Anonymousreply 8610/09/2012

I wish they'd included Jamie Luner, who played Lexi Sterling and was one of the few bright spots in the later series. Probably the only actress on the show that could match Heather Locklear bitch for bitch.

Here she is beating the shit out of Rena Sofer.

by Anonymousreply 8710/10/2012

They were such great actors. It's a wonder they're not all winning Tonys and Oscars.

by Anonymousreply 8810/10/2012

R87 - I so agree.Jamie was awesome.

by Anonymousreply 8910/10/2012

I've started watching the 1st season DVD set and was curious why Amy Locane and Vanessa Williams were cut after the 1st season?

I also don't know what the attraction to Josie Bisset was. I remember when this show was a hit back in the 90's people went on about how pretty she was and all I can see is that she's too thin and her mouth is too big for her face.

by Anonymousreply 9001/12/2013

Grant Show has not aged well.

by Anonymousreply 9101/12/2013

R90 A friend of mine worked as a PA on the set and told me that Vanessa Williams went absolutely ballistic when she was cut from the show. She had attempted to attack one of the producers calling him a racist and security was called in to hold her down. I'm surprised to hear she actually got work after this.

by Anonymousreply 9201/12/2013

R90 - Vanessa's role was getting smaller and smaller as the first season went on. She interacted only with Doug Savant's character. Don't know why Amy was let go.

Josie had nice features, but was too thin, and the pixie didn't flatter her.

by Anonymousreply 9301/12/2013

Any other goss from the set, R92? Any other diva stories? Who was gay/bi/heteroflexible out of the cast members?

by Anonymousreply 9401/12/2013

I've watched a few episodes of the 1st season and I must say it's pretty bad. So dated and cheesy.

by Anonymousreply 9501/13/2013

Stay with it R95

by Anonymousreply 9601/13/2013

r95, what season are you on now?

by Anonymousreply 9703/21/2013

Any Courtney gossip?

by Anonymousreply 9803/21/2013

R97 I'm still on season 1. Enjoying the Amy Locane episodes.

by Anonymousreply 9903/24/2013

Too bad Amy didn't work out.

by Anonymousreply 10003/25/2013

Thomas Calabro wears a toupee??

by Anonymousreply 10103/25/2013

New pics of Josie with long blond hair.
