I say all of them are.
How many of you think that Tom Selleck, George Clooney and Glenn Close are gay?
|by Cary Grant||reply 145||02/23/2015|
I don't know if they're homosexuals, but certainly they all have rugged, manly facial features in common.
|by Cary Grant||reply 2||05/31/2012|
Yes, yes, no and Leo YES.
|by Cary Grant||reply 3||05/31/2012|
no for Glenn....she has had lots of men and lots of grief from them. If she were a lez she'd have sworn off men and found a nice lady by now.
|by Cary Grant||reply 4||05/31/2012|
Excellent responses people...let's keep this going and add any other celebs you are wondering about....ok?
|by Cary Grant||reply 5||05/31/2012|
Listen to the DVD commentary for - The Ides of March - Clooney sounds like he wants to jizz all over Evan Rachel Woods face. He's pretty into her, and makes similar remarks about the bounce in the step of the female intern at the end, too.
|by Cary Grant||reply 6||06/17/2012|
Oh, come on, OP. This is the DL, where all attractive stars are gay (but only the males, never the females).
|by Cary Grant||reply 8||06/17/2012|
I dunno, dahling; they nevah sucked MY cock!
|by Cary Grant||reply 9||06/17/2012|
OP I'm curious, what makes Glenn Close pings for you? Cause I've always wondered myself, in a "has she ever considered it" way. Some people of her generation would never even question themselves in that regard. She was someone I've always thought would be one of those "late bloomers" gay women.
|by Cary Grant||reply 10||06/17/2012|
Ryan Gosling is dating Eva Mendes. George Clooney has a string of women. They may be bi, they may not be - all I'm saying is that George was really putting the horny spotlight on ERG in his commentary.
|by Cary Grant||reply 11||06/17/2012|
What about Glenne Headley?
|by Cary Grant||reply 12||06/17/2012|

Funny you, of all people, should say that about Glenn, M. I watched your Actors' Studio interview a few days ago and more than once I was struck by how much you resemble Glenn.
|by Cary Grant||reply 13||06/17/2012|
Glenn Close is not gay BUT she is a closet former member of the culty Up With People. Seriously.
|by Cary Grant||reply 14||06/17/2012|
I've posted this before - I am friends with a man who is now 60 and in his youth he was a frequent visitor to the bathouses in LA. He told me that Tom Selleck was always there, and my friend cannot believe that Selleck is still alive, given his behavior back then.
|by Cary Grant||reply 15||06/17/2012|
Maybe Selleck was always a top. Could explain his healthy status now.
If he was so reckless, why has he been able to stay in the closet so successfully and Miss Mary Travolta has not?
|by Cary Grant||reply 16||06/17/2012|
Yes Who cares? Probably
|by Cary Grant||reply 17||06/17/2012|
I know a guy who was Selleck's BF when he lived in Hawaii during Selleck's Magnum PI days. This guy is a top, but I have no idea if he was when he was dating Selleck. FWIW, this guy is a complete and total douche bag.
|by Cary Grant||reply 18||06/17/2012|
Tom Selleck is gay.
George Clooney is bisexual.
Glenn Close is straight.
|by Cary Grant||reply 20||06/17/2012|
Why is there no mention of Ryan Reynolds or Leo? Oh, that's right. Leo is dating a Victoria Secret model and Ryan Reynolds has a steady girlfriend again. She used to date Leo. They must be straight, right? I mean they're DATING, people!!!!!!!!!!!
|by Cary Grant||reply 21||06/17/2012|
Maybe no one her cares about those two with their odd-shaped heads.
|by Cary Grant||reply 22||06/17/2012|
|by Cary Grant||reply 23||07/16/2012|
Clooney never Rosemary would have spanked that out of him
Selleck, nope just wishful thinking
Close, she's intersexed so it's impossible to say
Ryan Reynolds walks with a lisp.
Leonardo? Fugly, ask me when you lose weight and are attractive again
|by Cary Grant||reply 24||07/16/2012|
Selleck: Hairy Bear
Clooney: Straight and gay friendly
|by Cary Grant||reply 25||07/16/2012|
Selleck: I wonder what the story on him really is. If some of the posts on DL can be believed, WOW.I always got the vibe he might be family, at least that is my opinion. Ditto for Clooney, altho less so. Maybe just gay friendly.
|by Cary Grant||reply 26||11/10/2012|
A colleague made a film w/ Tom Selleck in the '80s and that was the first thing she said, "He's gay."
|by Cary Grant||reply 27||11/10/2012|
Recently met an L.A. flight attendant who is also am actor and his partner works in the industry as well and when I asked about George Clooney he said George's boyfriend used to hang around the set when he was on ER.
|by Cary Grant||reply 28||11/10/2012|
1. I think so.
2. I am certain of it.
3. I'd guess yes.
|by Cary Grant||reply 29||11/10/2012|
I am actually certain of Tom Selleck. I wouldn't be surprised when it comes to Clooney but have absolutely no idea about Glenn.
|by Cary Grant||reply 30||11/11/2012|
I'd bet my right tit that Glenn Close is gay. I've never once thought she was straight. I feel the same way about Sandra Bullock.
|by Cary Grant||reply 31||11/11/2012|
I know Tom Selleck is gay but not because I slept with him.
|by Cary Grant||reply 32||11/11/2012|
Tom Selleck married that homely girl and they have 1 kid a girl grown by now.
Mother, may I sleep with danger?
|by Cary Grant||reply 33||11/11/2012|
Tom Selleck can't be gay; he's married with children.
|by Cary Grant||reply 34||11/11/2012|
Tom Selleck definitely, Clooney I think so, Glenn no.
|by Cary Grant||reply 35||11/11/2012|
Tom Selleck: heard a long, long time ago he's gay; also Hawaii has long been a "safe" place for gay actors: Jim Nabors, Richard Chamberlain, et al. Don't know about George Clooney and Glenn Close, but as for Sandra Bullock, always pings for me.
|by Cary Grant||reply 36||11/11/2012|
R34 I did not infer that at all. Merely stating a fact that his wife is homely, bearding? Women threw themselves at him in his heyday, probably still do.
|by Cary Grant||reply 37||11/11/2012|
R34, now you must know that there are plenty of gay or bi guys out there who marry and father children. I am not saying TS is one of these. He is still quite a hunk, IMO. Aged, yes, but still attractive.
|by Cary Grant||reply 38||11/11/2012|
[R32], how do you know? Gossip boards, personal experience, rumor mill? What?
|by Cary Grant||reply 39||11/11/2012|
[quote]I'd bet my right tit that Glenn Close is gay. I've never once thought she was straight.
I agree, and at the same time I don't see her as someone who would hide in a closet. She makes many references to lesbians too (that she thinks she a lesbian icon, that when she went to her daughter college and introduced her longtime nanny as 'the other mother" the dean apparently thought she meant they were a lesbian couple, etc) and usually people in the closet are defensive/uncomfortable with the subject.
Glenn's an enigma to me. Are/were her parents religious freaks? I know she grew up in a cult.
|by Cary Grant||reply 40||11/11/2012|
I met a middle aged woman and although I can't say her situation, she was in the know and from Hawaii, she was quick to tell the whole table that Tom Selleck was gay and then mentioned her job which would have put her in the position to have this knowledge. Anyway, I saw no reason not to believe her, I can't see that she would have any reason to lie about it.
I had never thought about Selleck as gay or straight but when I watched some episodes of his old TV show, I realized there is no way a straight man would have worn his shorts, so fucking tight and short.
|by Cary Grant||reply 41||11/11/2012|

|by Cary Grant||reply 42||11/11/2012|

I know a guy who was "nothing special" in the looks department who swears he slept with Sellect when he first got to Hollywood. I never believed him. Until now.

Where is Judy?
|by Cary Grant||reply 50||11/12/2012|
Gay - Selleck and Clooney.
|by Cary Grant||reply 51||11/12/2012|
Don't give a fuck if any of them are gay or not. As long as people whisper and gossip about it, then being gay will be treated as something tawdry and scandalous and used to sell tabloids.

CLOONEY IS BORING, SELLECK IS A CUNT AND GLOSE IS NOT OK. CALL ME JUDY FFS.
|by Cary Grant||reply 57||11/12/2012|
JUDY COME HERE
|by Cary Grant||reply 59||11/12/2012|
Judy was bi-polar, so lesbian adventures were allowed. Liza is an in-denial lesbian drunk, not bi-polar.
|by Cary Grant||reply 60||11/13/2012|
R60, interesting approach. So if someone is bi-polar they are more close to homosexuality than others? Maybe homosexuality just happens and depends on the personality and the emotional needs of each person. Why you think that Judy had lesbian tendencies only because of her bipolarity? Maybe she was bi-polar because she had repressed lesbian tendencies. I dunno, really. Answer me back, it would be fun...!
|by Cary Grant||reply 61||11/13/2012|
1 - don't know (rumors abound but of course they would no what the truth is) 2 - yes (or bi, I have it on very good authority) 3 - no (or rather, of course it's possible (it's possible anyone is anything) but I've never heard that she was anything other than straight)
|by Cary Grant||reply 62||11/13/2012|
The only unsettling about the Selleck revelation is that he is such a gun loving Republican
|by Cary Grant||reply 63||11/13/2012|
|by Cary Grant||reply 64||12/19/2012|
R61, most bi-polar people act in hypersexual ways -- hetero & homo. It's not exclusively homo.
|by Cary Grant||reply 65||12/19/2012|
It's true, I was surprised about Selleck and I wondered if he played gay in that movie...because he felt kind of bad about being in the closet and stabbing other gay men in the back? How old is he now and STILL in the closet...who does he fuck?
|by Cary Grant||reply 66||12/19/2012|
I don't know about Selleck.
I have it on good authority that Clooney has or at least has had a serious male partner; whether he's bearding with women or bi or I can't say.
I see no evidence that Glenn Close is anything but straight.
|by Cary Grant||reply 67||12/19/2012|
I believe Selleck is 66. Don't know if he's gay but I saw him with his wife in a movie line about 15-20 years ago (in LA). He was very tall and still fabulous looking. She was very petite.
|by Cary Grant||reply 68||12/19/2012|
She's Jilly Mack.
|by Cary Grant||reply 69||12/19/2012|
I don't know about Tom Selleck, but when I watch the fictional character he portrayed, Thomas Magnum, I watch from the standpoint that Magnum, Rick, Higgins, Robin Masters, and the helicopter pilot are all deeply closeted homosexuals. Magnum would not be living in Robin Masters' guesthouse and certainly would not be driving his Ferrari if he were not Robin's boytoy. And a sexy, fine-looking boytoy he is too. Each episode is a tall tale which Magnum is telling about his fantasy exploits as a Private Investigator. He explains his lack of heterosexual relationship by the dead wife that he never got over. Closet case, Raymond Burr and many others also had such a dead wife, while Richard Chamberlain and so many others were jilted by a cruel fiance in youth, and were never again able to form a lasting trusting relationship with a woman. I have personally known so many men like Magnum P I that I recognized him immediately. I've played sugar-daddy to several of them, but I'm not wealthy enough to be a long-term sugar-daddy like the fictional Robin Masters. The writers of Magnum, P I must have been homosexual because they put all sorts of subversive subtexts into the show which I am sure went over the heads of most middle Americans. I don't care about looking at the current elderly Tom Selleck, but I still get a lot of sexual pleasure out of watching Magnum P I. I usually jack off twice during an episode. Who needs porn?

|by Cary Grant||reply 73||12/20/2012|
Selleck no. I don't think any gay man would do this to fool anyone:
To promote his film The Love Letter, Selleck was invited to be on The Rosie O'Donnell Show on May 19, 1999. However, he found himself defending an ad in which he appeared supporting the National Rifle Association (NRA) and his position on gun ownership. Selleck said, "It's your show, and you can talk about it after I leave." O'Donnell was highly criticized; it was criticism which led her to make an apology to Selleck by saying, "For him feeling embarrassed and humiliated by me, I strongly do apologize to him personally, but I do not apologize for my feelings about the issue of gun control."
Selleck is a member of the Board of Directors and public spokesman of the NRA. After close friend Charlton Heston stepped down—due to failing health—as the highly visible public spokesman of the NRA in 2003, Selleck has stepped up in comparable manner to succeed him. In 2002, Selleck donated the rifle he used in Quigley Down Under (a custom 13-pound [6 kg], single-shot, 1874 Sharps Rifle, with a 34-inch [86-cm] barrel), along with six other firearms from his other films, to the National Rifle Association, as part of the NRA's exhibit "Real Guns of Reel Heroes" at the National Firearms Museum in Fairfax, Virginia.
For a number of years, Selleck appeared in television advertising for The National Review (he also subscribes to The New Republic). He endorsed Senator John McCain in the 2008 presidential election. Selleck describes himself politically as "a registered independent with a lot of libertarian leanings." In a 2012 magazine article about his career, he mentioned that he likes the fact that his character on Blue Bloods and his family are visibly practicing Catholics, while adding that he is not very religious himself.
|by Cary Grant||reply 74||12/20/2012|
R74 - I don't see how that makes him straight. A college buddy who lived in Hawaii during the Magnum series told me he lived openly with a male lover there, and his wife and daughter would visit periodically. Hawaii is not as backward and hung up as the rest of the states and people just accepted it there.
There are plenty of conservative closeted gays; he is one of them.
|by Cary Grant||reply 75||12/20/2012|
Glenn keeps saying how beautiful and sexy Rose Byrne is to any media outlet that will listen. It doesn't strike me as incredibly heterosexual TBO.
|by Cary Grant||reply 76||01/18/2013|
R74, why do you think we don't all know about that? Every fucking person on earth knows about it.

|by Cary Grant||reply 78||01/18/2013|
Close has too long and troubled a history with men (up until now..she seems happy with her new husband, plus he's a business guy and not an actor)
If she were a lesbian I think she would have stopped dating long ago and got a girlfriend or just said she is focusing on raising her child and done that. She was never a romantic lead type actress who would have needed a beard.

|by Cary Grant||reply 83||01/18/2013|
They might be homosexual, but they are not "gay" unless they join that movement and say that they are "gay". Only a small minority of homosexual people are members of the "gay" movement.

1. Yes (friend of mine had sex with him the 1980s)
2. Maybe (gossip only)
3. No (have seen her in NYC with her first big love Len Cariou, and on Nantucket with one of her younger lovers (she was an early cougar.) Strikes me as totally hetero (even if she did play an army lesbo on TV some years ago and a woman in male drag recently. It really if funny how playing against sexuality in a film makes you that sexuality in the public. She is a good and serious actress, is all.
|by Cary Grant||reply 91||01/28/2013|
I don't know but Selleck is dead sexy in those Jesse Stone Hallmark Channel movies.
|by Cary Grant||reply 92||01/28/2013|
Selleck in "Magnum, P.I." was porn to me in the early 1980s. He was pure sex on a stick (and I wish the stick had been mine). As a young teen, I used to beat off to a shirtless black and white picture of him I cut out of TV Guide. I finally upgraded to a full color glossy poster. To me, there was nothing sexier than when he would emerge from the surf, soaking wet, in those clingy short shorts on "Magnum". I'm almost 46 now, and I still think the man is hot (extra weight, black-dyed hair and all).
|by Cary Grant||reply 93||01/28/2013|
So many people back in the 80s claimed that Selleck was gay and visited bathhouses, etc. He never pinged for me at all. My theory was that people mistook him for actor Joel Crothers (from "Edge of Night"). Joel looked a lot like Tom and DID frequent gay clubs and bathhouses, and I think people were confused.
|by Cary Grant||reply 94||01/28/2013|
2. Probably not.
Selleck, no question. Pings loudly.
If Clooney were gay, he seems so relaxed about gayness in general that I don't think he'd bother with bearding. He may actually be a straight man who just fucks around a lot.
Glenn Close is a typical New England Yankee woman. They all look like lesbians, even the straight ones.
|by Cary Grant||reply 95||01/28/2013|
Nonsense R95, George Clooney is one of the most uncomfortable and generally fearful of all stars.

Back in the 80s there was a bathhouse with rest rooms and changing areas at Ala Moana Beach park. It had mens room, ladies room, and, on each side, outdoor showers and changing areas. There were high walls around them, lots of long benches, but they were open to the sky. Was told to watch for Selleck in there at night but I never spotted him. There was all kinds of action taking place on the benches, under the starry skies.

I've assumed Clooney was at least bisexual. And figured, that was the reason he bought that villa in Italy for his all-male parties, that he hosted. Glenn Close? I remember her dating Can Neeley of the Boston Bruins, but that was decades ago! She's got a 20-ish year old daughter; she flies so low under all dating radar, that it'd hard to say. Selleck? Sexuality unknown. I believe Meryl Streep is bisexual.

Glenn Close is married to a man that has assloads of money - and she herself is quite well off. Never heard a gay tale about her - but I do know that she is very kind and generous and can be shy. Sorry not to have salacious gossip.
|by Cary Grant||reply 111||10/23/2014|
R40 I am related to a longtime nanny of Glenn's daughter, probably the one to whom you refer in that anecdote. She is/was a very straight woman, young enough to be Glenn's daughter, like a daughter/close friend to Glenn, and no way pinging then or now; Glenn did not ping to my relative, and if Glenn had female lovers my relative would have flat out known then.
A friend, now deceased, was SIL to Laurie David, and cousin to Judge Judy. She had access to all sorts of info. Many years ago she said Travolta and Bruce Willis were gay; that was back when everyone ridiculed her comments about those two, who were at the height of their popularity. Selleck was never IDed as gay. Neither was Clooney. She did not dish unless it was beyond a shadow of a doubt inside the industry. Yes, I know, there are no revelations here - just saying Selleck and Cllooney were exceptionally successfully closeted if her sources did not name them at that time.

When I lived in Hawaii, I had a very good friend who was a very good looking, very hot flight attendant...who regularly handled first class passengers on Air Canada. He told me that he and Tom Selleck were "fuck buddies" from waaaaaay back, having met on a Vancouver flight years ago and continuing carrying on while Selleck was in Hawaii shooting "Magnum P.I." He showed me a gorgeous vintage Rolex Selleck bought him as a gift for "services rendered" with "Tom" engraved on the back!

The flight attendant was very tight-lipped and would never give me any of the dirty details about what went down. That's why I always believed and respected him for his loyalty to Selleck. And Selleck obviously felt the same way too.
|by Cary Grant||reply 117||01/21/2015|
Selleck is gay. Clooney not gay. Not bi. But has some other sexual secret that he doesn't want getting out. Not kids. Bondage? Sadomasochism? Partner Swapping? FMF threesomes? Diapers? Scat? Golden Showers? Mommy fixation? Likes to scrub toilets? Something.

|by Cary Grant||reply 120||01/21/2015|
George Clooney is too in love with himself to be truly attracted to anyone else.
Tom Selleck could be gay but I think he would be too far in denial to ever admit it.
I think there is a huge chance that Glenn Close is at least bi.

I'm friends with a man, now in his early 60s, who was a hot young thing back in the 70s and used to go to all the gay bathhouses in LA. He told me he frequently saw Tom Selleck there, before Selleck was famous. My friend also told me that he is shocked that Selleck is still among the living, given his behavior back then.

I read an echo.

G has had too many husbands/boyfriends to be gay. No one who keeps trying as desperately hard to hold a man as she does could still be gay. She would have just gone off and been gay by now if it were so.
It is not like she ever played female leads and being a lesbian would ruin things.

Maybe the reason Selleck seems a bit more dour these days is because he's spent so many years in the closet that it's taken its toll.

My grandmother was always saying she was totally "enamoured" (her words) in Tom Selleck: he's such a hunk, he's so hairy, so muscular, I only watch Magnum PI because of him. And I was standing behind her, rolling my eyes, and wondering: "Should I break her heart or not?". I chose not to.
Clooney: I don't know but the fact that he announced his marriage to Amal a couple of weeks after the Bryan Singer's scandal broke out made me go hmmm...
G: no idea. But I thought she was pinging to death in Dangerous Liaisons as Madame de Merteuil. Maybe this was her character.

Clooney is gay. Confirmed to me by a couple who vacationed several times on Lake Como while he was there. Everyone there knows. The marriage to Talia Balsam was arranged to help launch his career. Why do you think she never spoke about him or their marriage after their divorce? She moved on from the arrangement and that was the end of it. The marriage to Amal I can only speculate that he's a better actor than I thought to convince her it's love, or she's in for whatever benefit she gets out of it. If the latter is the case, I expect a divorce in a few years when they claim their busy schedules kept them apart.

I think all three have safely moved into the "who gives a fuck" category, unless GC decides to go into politics.

Well, that proves it.

Funny, when I saw this list all I could think of was marry, fuck, kill.

[quote]I think Bette Midler is, at minimum, bi-sexual. She doesn't have a feminine bone in her body, and doesn't have a drop of sexual chemistry with any of her leading men.
She's more feminine than some I could name, but won't.
|by Cary Grant||reply 131||01/21/2015|
With that face, why would she have sexual chemistry? Her young adulthood attempts at flirting were probably always rebuffed unless she had her tits practically out.

r125, there's plenty of people, male and female, who'd still do him. He has aged, yes, but he has aged pretty darn well.
|by Cary Grant||reply 133||01/22/2015|
r122, I'm always a bit skeptical of the bath house claim. TS was working in film and television in the '70s although he had not yet achieved the fame he would achieve later. Another actor at the time looked very much like him. Plus, that porn 'stache and dark locks look was more common back then. Is your friend sure it was him?
|by Cary Grant||reply 134||01/22/2015|
Two Men/Three Ladies.
|by Cary Grant||reply 135||01/22/2015|
Selleck is gay. He's a family friend of one of my best mates who has actually posted about it on DL before.
|by Cary Grant||reply 136||01/22/2015|
I don't have the over active gaydar of most of you but even to me Glenn has always pinged big time. And yet - given her history and no remote rumors - she may be one of the few who is 100 percent straight. Who the fuck knows.
Sometimes appearances can be deceiving!
I have met her a couple of times though and she was very chill. No entourage; was game for chit chatting with anyone, even nobodies. Short - 5'4" at most.
|by Cary Grant||reply 137||01/22/2015|
It's the cinematography and the sound editing of Out of Sight that make it sexy, if you really think about it.
|by Cary Grant||reply 139||01/22/2015|
^^^No, it's not.
|by Cary Grant||reply 140||01/22/2015|
selleck is straight, why is he gay?
Clooney is so gay or bi
Glenn close ....cmon, how can mona simpson be gay. Plus she goes crazy over men, Killing rabbits and shit.
|by Cary Grant||reply 141||01/22/2015|
Does anyone remember the porn actor or character actor who looked like Tom Selleck? I was trying to tell someone about him and can't find the thread with his name.
|by Cary Grant||reply 142||02/23/2015|
R142, Joel Crothers from "The Edge of Night" resembled Tom Selleck somewhat. His fellow mustachoed co-star Dennis Parker was also a porn actor who went by the name Wade Nichols. Both Crothers and Parker/Nichols died of AIDS in 1985.
|by Cary Grant||reply 143||02/23/2015|
Thanks for the names. I looked at both and neither one is the I remember. The man I'm looking for is almost a clone of Selleck.
|by Cary Grant||reply 144||02/23/2015|
Tom and George? Most definitely.
Glenn? I don't know. I am a gay man and my Lezdar is a total bust.
