So beautiful - just watching his performance in "Birdsong" - TiVo'd from Masterpiece Theatre. Very very pale English but sexy too. Great acting credentials for his age - not married. Could he be family??
|by Anonymous||reply 101||12/02/2014|
Not gay, just British.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||05/06/2012|
Who know, who cares if he's gay or not. He's an excellent actor and beautiful to look at. The scene in Bird Song where he is presumed dead, but is rescued by another soldier, who carries him in his arms, is wonderfully homo-erotic.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||05/06/2012|
I thought he was excellent in "Red" (deserved that Tony, as did Molina, but, alas, Mr. Washington decided to do Broadway that year) and charming in a feckless way in "My Year with Marilyn."
|by Anonymous||reply 3||05/07/2012|
Eddie's got it all going on: handsome, well-educated, great film and stage credits. Very watchable in 'Savage Grace', where he was sucked off by his mother, Julianne Moore. Seriously.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||05/07/2012|
Because we think handsome has a broader range than a Ken doll, R6?
|by Anonymous||reply 7||05/07/2012|
Gentlemen, I point you towards this quote from his imdb page:
[about his favorite color] The color that Yves Klein does. Wet paint has a luminosity that dies when it dries and it loses the gloss. So Yves created this color scientifically that retains that luminosity. He was a big showman, so he got it copyrighted. The color is called IKB-International Klein Blue.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||05/07/2012|
History of Art at Cambridge clearly wasn't wasted on him.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||05/07/2012|
Saw the end of "Birdsong," and I still think he's absolutely beautiful. A great actor. Looks yummy in bed.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||05/14/2012|
Why does a gay man like you support Romney, OP? You called him a "kind and compassionate man" on another thread. Are you mentally disabled?
|by Anonymous||reply 12||05/14/2012|
I thought the consensus here on DL is that Redmayne is, in fact, gay. That's my recollection from reading other threads about him.
He's a great actor and very watchable, but I don't personally find him attractive. I think his lips look like strips of bologna lunchmeat.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||05/14/2012|
He's the main model for Burberry.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||05/14/2012|
I think he is beautiful and this is coming from a man who is not generally a fan of the ginge. He definitely has crossover appeal. Plus he seems so sweet and earnest and he always has a surprised look on his face.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||05/14/2012|
WTF? The man is ugly. Unbelievably ugly. You guys have really odd taste.
Seriously. He is hideous. To the point it distracted me in "My week with Marilyn". I couldn't get past how ugly he is.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||05/14/2012|
I was really looking forward to "Birdsong." It had everything I love: A love story and World War I.
But it was so unbelievably awful. One of the worst things I have ever seen on Masterpiece.
I really like Redmayne. Thought he was wonderful in My Weekend with Marilyn. And I'm not a body fascist like many on Datalounge, but I was surprised how flabby his torso looked when he sat up in bed. He looked like a man 20 years older.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||05/14/2012|
r19 is a real piece of work. He made me LOL.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||05/14/2012|
it may surprise you but a number of gay men support Romney.
Selfish, shallow people doing stupid things never surprises me.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||05/14/2012|
His head is just a little too big for his body
|by Anonymous||reply 22||05/14/2012|
Um... Hi people Eddie is sexy in my opinion, but I am not criticizing people who don't find him attractive. What I am trying to say is that if I was him, I REALLY doubt that I would want to hear that people think that my lips look like bologna. I think that is kind of rude. Guys if you really don't have anything that is respectable to say, just don't say anything at all. Also, no one is ugly. Ugly is in your core, ugly is inside of you. Not the outside. Everyone is beautiful on the outside. So you should please stop the negative comments about him. Do unto people what you would want them to do unto you. Eddie is an awesome actor in my opinion and if he is gay or straight I think that we should respect that, believe me that doesn't change the fact that he is a good actor.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||02/20/2013|
I want to eat out his skinny ass.
Join me, Christina?
|by Anonymous||reply 24||02/20/2013|
Christina, I am not one of your fans.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||02/20/2013|
Actors are overpaid to have underpaid people say rude things about them.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||02/20/2013|
I had no idea they'd made a movie of Birdsong. I read Sebastian Faulk's novel and loved it. In my imagination, I always cast Rupert Graves in it, but he's way too old now. I guess Eddie Redmayne was fine for it. I'll have to watch it now.I don't think he's ugly, but he has a unique look and some very striking features. I like his eyes.Didn't he go to school with William & Harry at Eton? I know he's very posh.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||02/21/2013|
In spite of the fact that it was just adapted for TV last year, there is a theatrical film of Birdsong in the works, starring Nicholas Hoult.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||02/21/2013|
He's on our team. Gay, gay, gay and a lovely person.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||02/21/2013|
R30, you think or you know?
|by Anonymous||reply 31||02/21/2013|
When you search "eddie redmayne gay" in Google (as I just did) this DL thread comes up on the first page, haha.
|by Anonymous||reply 32||02/21/2013|
He was the best singer in Les Miz.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||02/21/2013|
r33 I will hunt you down and kill you
|by Anonymous||reply 34||02/21/2013|
I'm sure he is lovely, but I can't really look at him for long. I don't know why - I don't think he's ugly, but some people have faces I can't look at for long. Or it makes me look at their faces too long. Whatever.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||02/21/2013|
I wonder what r35 looks like?
|by Anonymous||reply 36||02/21/2013|
Oh, AnnE, you insufferable bitch. Bite me, you scrawny necked, bug-eyed mistress of Gidget-like cute.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||02/21/2013|
R36, I said I don't think he's ugly. I'm perfectly fine looking too. I just don't particularly LIKE his face.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||02/21/2013|
I'm perfectly fine looking too.
I'm sure you are....that's what they all say online.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||02/21/2013|
Okay, I'm better than fine looking. Goddammit, beautiful, even.
A glorius rosebud.
Now leave me alone, Eddie Redmayne, I'm sure you have better things to do.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||02/21/2013|
Eddie and Tom Sturridge were hot in Like Minds, great chemistry. I think Eddie is an exceptional actor.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||04/02/2013|
I, too, think Eddie is beautiful and had by far the best voice in Les Miz.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||04/02/2013|
WTF? The man is ugly. Unbelievably ugly. You guys have really odd taste.
DL has really odd opinion on what an actor should look like. I find DL's most beautiful Matt Bomer extremely funny-looking, assemble Legos you'll get Matt Bomer.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||04/03/2013|
[all posts by childish idiot removed]
|by Anonymous||reply 44||04/30/2014|
He is a great actor.
|by Anonymous||reply 45||04/30/2014|
He looks like a great villain in the new Wachowski movie.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||05/07/2014|
Great to see Eddie getting such acclaim and leaping to the head of the Oscar race.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||11/29/2014|
Lookswise, he's got a Burn Gorman thing going on, although better looking. I find it appealing and given the right lights and enough booze, even sexy. But it's an unusual look, no doubt.
He does have an enthusiastic, wide-eyed innocence as well as that veeeery polite reserve that so many Brits do so well.
I'm curious to see how all that ripens.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||11/30/2014|
No chance at an Oscar, couldn't be more bland.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||11/30/2014|
He was terrific in The Theory of Everything.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||11/30/2014|
R49 wouldn't be so sure about that. Having a disease or affliction is a sure fire way to win an Oscar. He may give Keaton a run for his money.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||11/30/2014|
The only way he'd win an oscar is if every other film pulled out of the running.
And even then, they'd just cancel the Oscars.
Countdown to obscurity in 3...2...1....
At least he'll be able to clean out septic tanks. Hey! Maybe he'll win an award for his baggy lips sucking all the shit out of the most septic tanks!
They you go, girls. Best Shit Sucker In The World - Eddie Redmayne!
|by Anonymous||reply 52||11/30/2014|
He has beautiful green eyes. His hair has a reddish tint, which adds to the effect.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||11/30/2014|
R52 You're basing him winning an Oscar on if he's good looking or not. Which is preposterous so just shut the fuck up.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||11/30/2014|
R52 is deranged.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||11/30/2014|
This man made a young Stephen Hawking look smouldering HOT! He is GORGEOUS! He is one hell of an actor as well!
|by Anonymous||reply 56||11/30/2014|
R57 He has done big movies before eg Les Miserables with Hugh Jackman, The Good Shepherd with De Niro and Matt Damon and he is 32 plenty more left in him
|by Anonymous||reply 58||11/30/2014|
R57 I wouldn't be surprised if he won at the Oscars. Granted he is no Brad Pitt but I think he did a great job in Theory Of Everything. He has the Daniel Day Lewis factor from My Left Foot. I think this years best actor race will be fairly weak. Saw Keaton in Birdman and wasn't as great as I thought he would be. Ed Norton stole the film out from under him. Academy love actors who stretch and playing a character with an affliction almost always works. No he won't be the next Ryan Gosling nor do I think he wants to be.
|by Anonymous||reply 59||11/30/2014|
Eddie was the child as a young adult in The Good Shepherd. I thought he did a very good job in that role.
|by Anonymous||reply 60||11/30/2014|
His best film was Savage Grace with Julianne Moore (seriously!)
|by Anonymous||reply 61||11/30/2014|
R57 whoever said he was supposed to be the 'next big thing'? I think he has a great chance at having a long and varied career. He is a talented actor who would probably be happy with steady, quality work for the rest of his life.
And fuck cumberbatch. I'm tired of hearing about that guy.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||11/30/2014|
r57 is an obvious Cumberbitch, and is stamping her feet over Rednmayne getting mucho attention over a part that the batch played in obscurity.
|by Anonymous||reply 63||11/30/2014|
He's definitely not conventionally handsome but he's not ugly either. He is memorable.
Having said that I'm not really feelin' him.
|by Anonymous||reply 64||11/30/2014|
I'd like to feel him. He's not that good looking, but I want to fuck him hard. He probably fires after sex.
|by Anonymous||reply 65||12/01/2014|
|by Anonymous||reply 66||12/01/2014|
|by Anonymous||reply 67||12/01/2014|
R58, you ignorant turd, if he has done "big" movies, but no one knows who he is outside of the 20 or so obsessed stans, all under the age of 16, he can't be called a "star", just "scenery".
|by Anonymous||reply 68||12/01/2014|
R68 give him time. In five years I bet he'll be pretty well known by the general public, not just teen girls.
|by Anonymous||reply 69||12/01/2014|
, it's not a movie that the average theatergoer will not line up to see
I saw it yesterday. The theater was packed.
|by Anonymous||reply 70||12/01/2014|
I'm seeing it tomorrow at 430 pm in a smallish theatre in north Carolina. I predict many old people. Will update...
|by Anonymous||reply 71||12/01/2014|
You're a lying cunt, R70. You and 3 of your obsessed friends do not constitute a "full" theater.
You type fat, how many giant tubs of popcorn did you eat?
|by Anonymous||reply 72||12/01/2014|
Poor R72. No one invited you for Thanksgiving? Poor baby.
The theater was packed. OK, you got me. The front row was empty.
|by Anonymous||reply 73||12/01/2014|
Prove it, R73 or it'll stay just another of your ridiculous fantasies, just like the one you have that you'll ever get laid.
|by Anonymous||reply 74||12/01/2014|
Wtf are you so angry for r74?
|by Anonymous||reply 75||12/01/2014|
Bologna tits and bologna lips is what I'm hearing about this guy.
|by Anonymous||reply 76||12/01/2014|
Yeah what is wrong with his lips? They looked packed full of chewing tobacco
|by Anonymous||reply 77||12/01/2014|
R68 Well he has already got 77 people commenting on him on this thread already, so clearly some know who he is
|by Anonymous||reply 78||12/01/2014|
ewww he chews tobacco? what a filthy habit. I bet his mouth tastes like rotting garbage.
|by Anonymous||reply 79||12/01/2014|
I doubt he chews tobacco. Is tobacco chewing as prevelant in England as it is in America?
Could be a smoker, but I hope not.
|by Anonymous||reply 80||12/01/2014|
He's not movie star gorgeous. He's more like a kid out of a Norman Rockwell painting. Memorable but not beautiful.
|by Anonymous||reply 81||12/01/2014|
R78 it appears as though there is 1 troll and 77 posts by the same fan girl trying to hype a no name D list actor.
|by Anonymous||reply 82||12/01/2014|
He is oh, so beautiful, R81.
He does not chew tobacco. R77 is intellectually challenged.
|by Anonymous||reply 83||12/01/2014|
What is HYUFD?
|by Anonymous||reply 84||12/01/2014|
r83, when are you getting that cataract surgery?
He only appears to be beautiful because the movies do a good makeup job and light him well. If you met him in your local gay bar, you wouldn't look twice.
|by Anonymous||reply 85||12/01/2014|
omg omg omg Eddie is intellectually challenged?
Is that why he chews tobacco?
|by Anonymous||reply 86||12/01/2014|
I just vomited into my mouth, R85
|by Anonymous||reply 87||12/01/2014|
R85 and R87 type fat.
|by Anonymous||reply 88||12/01/2014|
He just got engaged to a woman so I don't think he's family, he has no reason to require a beard.
No, R80, chewing tobacco isn't done in Britain. I've never seen or heard of anyone doing it in all the years I worked there.
|by Anonymous||reply 89||12/01/2014|
R85 I'd definitely look at him twice. Great hair and I dig the freckles.
|by Anonymous||reply 90||12/01/2014|
He's got cocksucking lips.
|by Anonymous||reply 91||12/01/2014|
R89 yes, all actors who marry women are totally straight. No! Really! I swear! Totally straight!
|by Anonymous||reply 92||12/01/2014|
Rock Hudson got married, but that didn't stop him from being a big old 'mo.
|by Anonymous||reply 93||12/01/2014|
Darling we're British, you'll never quite know for sure if we're gay so we marry unattractive women so that people will think we're respectible heterosexual family men.
|by Anonymous||reply 94||12/01/2014|
Yeah, well ER hasn't appeared on Downton Abbey. Call me when he joins the sexy stable of men that Julian writes for.
|by Anonymous||reply 95||12/01/2014|
R92 you chose to miss "he has no reason to require a beard" - it really doesn't matter career wise for him if he's gay so why bother?
He's JUST like Rock Hudson R93, except it's not 1953, he isn't a romantic lead, homosexuality isn't illegal, it's completely acceptable in the UK for actors to be out and, and this can't be stressed enough, [bold]it isn't 1953 [/bold]
|by Anonymous||reply 96||12/01/2014|
His performance in "The Theory of Everything" is so clearly pushing for an Oscar that I'm surprised he didn't insist that Hawking be portrayed as a bipolar musical prodigy who survived the Holocaust.
There's just something off putting about the guy.
|by Anonymous||reply 97||12/01/2014|
He's striking as a model, but not immediately sexy. If I hung out with him and fell in love, I'd totally marry him. He seems like he would treasure our lovemaking.
|by Anonymous||reply 98||12/01/2014|
R84 Highly Youthful Ultra Free Diva
|by Anonymous||reply 99||12/02/2014|
Just got back from seeing The Theory of Everything. Decent film, not spectacular. Eddie was superb, will get an Oscar nom.
And for as much shit as Eddies mouth gets, I was far more distracted by Felicity Jones' mouth. It's petty, but I hate those fat duck lips that don't allow the person to close their mouth. Or maybe she just has big buck teeth as well, but her teeth were always showing.
And there were eight other people in the theatre. I was the only one under fifty.
Harry Lloyd looked great at the end of the film when they aged him up a bit. Grey hair suits him.
|by Anonymous||reply 100||12/02/2014|
His performance in "The Theory of Everything" is so clearly pushing for an Oscar that I'm surprised he didn't insist that Hawking be portrayed as a bipolar musical prodigy who survived the Holocaust.
He should've insisted it be called "My Left Brain."
