Performances on screen where the performer was stoned or drunk out of their mind

By her own admission, Melanie Griffith in "Working Girl"

Richard Dreyfuss must have been coked up in "The Goodbye Girl"

by Anonymousreply 6205/25/2013

There was a scene in the Brady Bunch where Greg admits he was flying high on pot... the clip has him by the car out side of the garage, and his dad comes up and asks him something. And when he ran the clip, it was so obvious he was high.

by Anonymousreply 104/28/2012

Greg Brady (Barry Williams) stoned

by Anonymousreply 204/28/2012

I was also amused by Robert Reed rocking the casual version of the Full Cleveland (white shoes AND white belt).

by Anonymousreply 304/28/2012

Tea Leoni in DEEP IMPACT. Trust me.

by Anonymousreply 404/28/2012

"Richard Dreyfuss must have been coked up in 'The Goodbye Girl'"

Also in "Whose Life Is It Anyway?" where he gave an excellent performance, but now says that he doesn't even remember making that movie.

by Anonymousreply 504/29/2012

Kris Kristofferson in anything he ever did. Same with Nick Nolte.

by Anonymousreply 604/29/2012

Dreyfuss is out of control in this video. Was there a big fuss at the time? Nowadays it would be such big news if someone showed up at the Oscars like this.

by Anonymousreply 704/29/2012

My own personal opinion, which you didn't ask for, but which I freely give anyway is that being coked up is not stoned or drunk, it's like being caffeinated.

by Anonymousreply 804/29/2012

What was Melanie on in Working Girl?

by Anonymousreply 904/29/2012

Dame Peggy Ashcroft, A PASSAGE TO INDIA

by Anonymousreply 1004/29/2012

I can't tell if r10 is joking!

by Anonymousreply 1104/29/2012

Diane Ross wasn't acting when she played a junkie in Lady Sings the Blues.

by Anonymousreply 1204/29/2012

Brittany Murphy in Uptown Girls. You can see her shaking in some scenes. Poor girl.

by Anonymousreply 1304/29/2012

Martin Sheen in Apocalypse Now

by Anonymousreply 1404/29/2012

Wasn't Robin Williams doing coke during Mork & Mindy?

by Anonymousreply 1504/29/2012

Joan Crawford

It's most obvious during her "get outta here!!!" scene in "I Saw What You Did"

by Anonymousreply 1604/29/2012

Liza during New York, New York. You can see the coke sweat when she sings the title tune. Not a film but when she did the musical The Rink she kept little stashes of coke hidden in pockets of her costume.. it was an oversized sweatshirt as I recall. Lot of Liza snortin' back in the day.

by Anonymousreply 1704/29/2012

Wasn't Robert Downey Jr stoned out of his mind during his whole stint on Ally McBeal?

by Anonymousreply 1804/29/2012

Whitney said she had to get herself coked up daily for Preacher's Wife.

by Anonymousreply 1904/29/2012

Tom Hanks on Oprah's final show. He was shit drunk! But he is a very good actor. I expected him to stumble over his words and although he was on the verge he kept pulling it together. It was the sort of drunk only experienced drinkers can manage.

by Anonymousreply 2004/29/2012

I find Dreyfuss too insufferably arrogant to watch for longer than 10 seconds.

by Anonymousreply 2104/29/2012

I am utterly convinced that Cherry Jones was stoned on weed when she did her bit part in "New Years Eve."

Her costuming is lovely, though. I will give her that. But she is either mildly to moderately stoned on weed or had allergies and took some Benadryl.

by Anonymousreply 2204/29/2012

Juliette Lewis in that Terms of Endearment sequel.

by Anonymousreply 2304/29/2012

That Brady Bunch clip at R2 is hysterical, knowing he was stoned at the time. I love when Cindy walks up, and Greg turns his head toward the car, then adjusts and turns the other way toward her voice. Awesome!

by Anonymousreply 2404/29/2012

Daniel Radcliffe was binge drinking during the production shoot of the last two HP movies and later said in interviews that he was out of it in several scenes onscreen. I can't tell because Harry was always kind of a bland, blank slate type of character anyway.

by Anonymousreply 2504/29/2012

Graham Chapman was constantly drunk on the set of "Monty Python's The Holy Grail"

by Anonymousreply 2604/29/2012

I'm watching tea leoni in Deep impact right now. What should I look for? She does have quite a butch stance. Elbows out. But I'm not sure that's drug related.

by Anonymousreply 2704/29/2012

River Phoenix in My Own Private Idaho

by Anonymousreply 2804/29/2012

Martin Sheen in Apocalypse Now. The scene where he has a breakdown and smears blood on.his face. He was drunk and the blood was real. He did hurt his hand.

by Anonymousreply 2904/29/2012

Melanie Griffith was flying on coke during the making of 'Working Girl.' She has admitted this herself, and said that one day on the set Mike Nichols took her aside and told her to get her act together.

by Anonymousreply 3004/29/2012

The Cherry Jones Troll never disappoints.

by Anonymousreply 3104/29/2012

Liza was probably doing coke during NYNY but so was Robert DeNiro and so was Marty Scorcese.

by Anonymousreply 3204/29/2012

Vanity on American Bandstand in 1986 was blitzed beyond belief. I know Dick was saying, "Man, she's on some GOOD shit!"

by Anonymousreply 3304/29/2012

Whitney Houston in THE BODYGUARD. She looks high as a kite during many of the dialogue scenes.

by Anonymousreply 3404/29/2012

Harrison Ford in everything. Drunk and stoned.

by Anonymousreply 3504/29/2012

R30 - Thanks! I knew she was on something, wasn't sure whether it was coke or downers (maybe it was both). She had noticeable weight fluctuations during the course of the movie, but I don't know in which order the movie was filmed.

by Anonymousreply 3604/29/2012

The scenes in Working Girl where her face is bloated and her hair is a little longer (e.g. the scene where Tess and Mick leave Cyn's bridal party and get into an argument) were done after her short stint in rehab, I believe.

by Anonymousreply 3704/29/2012

When "Cheers" ended its run Jay Leno did a live Tonight Show broadcast from the Bull and Finch pub in Boston. The whole Cheers cast was roaringly shit-faced, falling off their bar stools, vomiting backstage, etc.

Ted Danson and George Wendt apologized to Leno the next day, but Leno said the whole idea was just a "huge mistake".

I saw it and it was hilarious and cringe-worthy.

by Anonymousreply 3804/29/2012

So if an actor is on cocaine are they aware of things? Do they remember afterwards.

by Anonymousreply 3904/29/2012

Dame Judy Dench in everything!!!

by Anonymousreply 4004/29/2012

Here's the drunk Cheers cast on Leno. They were so shit-faced they were just rambling on about nothing and slurring left and right.

by Anonymousreply 4104/30/2012

Harrison Ford is always stoned.

Any John Barrymore performance from the mid-1930s on up.

Montgomery Clift in Suddenly, Last Summer - drunk out of his mind.

Don't know the film, probably from the '70s, but a friend worked on it. John Carradine was so drunk they had to put him in a tub of cold water to try to sober him up.

David Janssen toward the end of the Fugitive was always drunk, and probably everything he did after that.

Jeffrey Hunter once the late '50s hit.

by Anonymousreply 4204/30/2012

Watch a rerun of "Mork and Mindy" sometime to see Robin Williams coke-binging. It's excruciating.

by Anonymousreply 4304/30/2012

Melanie Griffith partied HARD in the 80s.

by Anonymousreply 4404/30/2012

All the Jackass guys, throughout the films and the tv show.

by Anonymousreply 4504/30/2012

by Anonymousreply 4605/06/2012

Tea Leoni had a deep impact on Madonna's pussy during the filming of A League of Their Own, but no drugs were involved.

by Anonymousreply 4705/06/2012

Judy Garland in just about everything.

by Anonymousreply 4805/06/2012

Hermann Prey the Austrian baritone come out drunk as a skunk at a Metropolitan Opera Gala celebrating its 25th anniversary at Lincoln Center. Can't remember what he sang, but he had all the telltale signs of intoxication, including the red swollen nose ala W. C. Fields.

by Anonymousreply 4905/06/2012

Lindsay Lohan in Liz and Dick

by Anonymousreply 5005/25/2013

Michael Fassbender was supposedly completely drunk when he was filming his dying scene in 300. Which led to some hilarious moments during filming that scene.

by Anonymousreply 5105/25/2013

John Belushi in the Blues Brothers. There is the scene where he is sitting on top of the car watching the airplanes land. Dan Ackroyd says something like "come on let's go" and they get off the hood of the car. Belushi was so shit-faced in that scene he can hardly move.

by Anonymousreply 5205/25/2013

Liza had a "happiness" clause in her contract for The Rink. The producers not only supplied her with drugs, the also supplied her with escorts. I guess she too "Arthur in the Afternoon" from The Act to heart.

by Anonymousreply 5305/25/2013

Do Real Housewives count?????

by Anonymousreply 5405/25/2013

R24 is confusing the side effects of pot with good acting.

Lon Chaney Jnr - rumour has it that he was so much of a mess during his later "career" that to get him to perform, someone had to stand off camera waving a bottle.

by Anonymousreply 5805/25/2013

Supposedly Chuck Barris was coked-up throughout the entire run of "The Gong Show".

Robert De Niro in "Taxi Driver". Especially in this scene; he claims the glassy-eyed look was due to staying awake 24 hours before shooting, but he's obviously fucked up.

by Anonymousreply 5905/25/2013

Cocaine was the reason Melanie Griffith was constantly clearing her throat in Working Girl.

by Anonymousreply 6005/25/2013

Most of Richard Burton's movies

by Anonymousreply 6105/25/2013

Patti Smith in the 1970s.
