Rejoice, soap fans! ABC is keeping 'General Hospital'

It wasn’t as easy as ABC, but the Disney-owned broadcast network has given renewed life to its last soap opera, "General Hospital," while making moves to set the stage for the arrival of Katie Couric’s talk show in September.

they kept the wrong one

by Anonymousreply 204/12/2012

Too little, too late. ABC already pissed off too many fans who will never return.

by Anonymousreply 304/12/2012

I watched the "Most Dramatic" scene on SoapNet last night; GH used to be so very good. I cried. Lucky died.

by Anonymousreply 408/06/2012

Who cares about a motherfucking soap opera? General Hospital is no longer relevant. This is bullshit. BULLSHIT. Get off the PC whiners.

by Anonymousreply 508/08/2012

Lucky died?

by Anonymousreply 608/08/2012

Wasn't that announced months ago? I think GH still has to have decent ratings this fall or it will be replaced.

EDITOR! Soap Thread!

Started watching when Starr Todd McBain and Tea (in a limited storyline) came over from my show. Still trying to figure out the storylines. Love Heather (Robin Mattson) and I hope she comes back. I might stick around for that. Pretty apparent that Carly?? is the 'Blair Cramer' and will likely have a fling with Todd. And her son looks like a young Trevor St. John. A little too much mafia. And that Steve guy in the black T shirts? Not a very convincing actor.

It will be gone by June.

by Anonymousreply 1008/08/2012

The network will milk it for all it's worth for the 50th anniversary in April 2013 and then I think they'll wrap it up.

by Anonymousreply 1108/08/2012

I thought Lucy Coe a splendid little minx!

by Anonymousreply 1208/08/2012

I predict that Genie Francis will show up during the 50th anniversary week in April as part of a "Who Killed Todd?" murder mystery and will hang around until its final episode in May. Good Afternoon, America will take the time slot.

by Anonymousreply 1308/08/2012

Splendid!!!

by Anonymousreply 1408/09/2012

r.13, I agree with everything you said except it won't be "Who Killed Todd?", it will be "Who killed Sonny?". FV loves Roger Howarth and can't stand Benard. He's waiting to find a way to dump his one-not performing ass.

by Anonymousreply 1508/09/2012

I can't believe I'm going to say this but I'm finding GH to be watchabe these days. Todd is great and there is so much less Sonny. Love Heather and that some of the older characters are back. Now if they could just blow up Sonny and Jason and get rid of them once and for all.....

by Anonymousreply 1608/09/2012

Boys, give GH a new look-see. There are some nice bulges going on there.

by Anonymousreply 1707/02/2013

All the bulges in the world can't make up for the crappy writing, terrible plotting and lousy acting.

by Anonymousreply 1807/02/2013

What type of bulges?

by Anonymousreply 1907/02/2013

Could Dom Zamprogna be any yummier? Damn...

by Anonymousreply 2007/09/2013

I'm amazed people still watch daytime soap operas, you have to be ghetto with no cable to consider this garbage entertainment. Relish Wars... fucking stupid.

by Anonymousreply 2107/09/2013

Speaking of bulges did Michael get offed?

by Anonymousreply 2209/30/2014

Michael will be around for a while. It seems that they might finally have him turn dark.

by Anonymousreply 2309/30/2014

Is this the thread for Port Chuckles now? I've been gone for a week and I can't seem to find a current one.

by Anonymousreply 2410/01/2014

I hope they fire that cunt Kelly Moronaco.

by Anonymousreply 2510/01/2014

But then who would be PC's version of Nancy DDrew?

by Anonymousreply 2610/01/2014

I was a loyal soap fan since I was a kid in the 80s, but they're dreadful. Not sure if they declined or I just grew up. I watched a couple of minutes of DOOL and GH the other day they were so unbelievably dumb with bad acting. I quickly shut it off. I did like OLTL, once that was canceled, I fell out of the whole genre.

by Anonymousreply 2710/01/2014

Sure, we could use this as the Port Chuck thread. Although given the thread title, I give it 5 more minutes before it's shut down. Maybe we're better off using a Mad Men thread Title.

by Anonymousreply 2810/01/2014

It will get shut down because of morons like [r25]

by Anonymousreply 2910/01/2014

[quote]'m amazed people still watch daytime soap operas, you have to be ghetto with no cable to consider this garbage entertainment.

Shame, it was once considered high brow.
