WTF is in the water?
Matt Bomer, Lee Pace and Jim Parsons are all from the same town in Texas
|by Anonymous||reply 69||08/08/2014|
Truman Capote and Harper Lee were from the same town.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||04/05/2012|
Aaron Sorkin and Andrew Ross Sorkin are from the same town and they're not related.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||04/05/2012|
That's a northern suburb of Houston. Parsons was active in amateur theatre in Houston. Houston has a large gay community and is gay friendly. We have a partnered lesbian mayor, btw.

"WTF is in the water?"
|by Anonymous||reply 8||05/31/2012|
it's nice to know parsons was nurtured, r7. maybe that's why he's paying it forward.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||05/31/2012|
Old Town Spring has plenty of antique shopping for the gay man.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||06/01/2012|
I'm from there too!
|by Anonymous||reply 11||06/01/2012|
[quote]I'm from there too!
Awww Sweetie that's nice, but if you don't have your own TV show, it doesn't count now, does it?
|by Anonymous||reply 12||06/01/2012|
They are in reality the same person.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||06/01/2012|
Their assbaby would look just like the Geena Davis/Jeff Goldblum child of my nightmares, R14.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||06/01/2012|
|by Anonymous||reply 17||06/01/2012|
Jane Smiley and Jonathan Franzen, two of the most successful literary novelists of the late 20th/early 21st centuries, are both from the St. Louis suburb of Webster Groves.

Almost 40,000 people live in Spring, TX. Not such a small place.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||06/04/2012|
What about Chace Crawford? Is he from nearby? Or is that just where he was arrested for smoking pot last year?
|by Anonymous||reply 20||06/04/2012|
Lee Pace is still closeted.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||10/01/2012|
Booking my ticket as I type.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||10/01/2012|
|by Anonymous||reply 23||10/01/2012|
Because they all are such good actors and come from the same town... right?!!!
|by Anonymous||reply 24||02/02/2013|
Is it like how all the Army generals went to the same school, West Point?
|by Anonymous||reply 26||02/03/2013|
[quote]Almost 40,000 people live in Spring, TX. Not such a small place.
"Spring, TX' as a USPS entity also covers a couple of hundred thousand people living in unincorporated zones of north Harris County and southern Montgomery County, in the master-planned suburb called The Woodlands.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||02/03/2013|
Renee Zellweger is often described as being from the "small town" of Katy, TX, which in reality is another sprawling suburb adjacent to Houston.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||02/03/2013|
[quote]the "small town" of Katy, TX
Sort of like the "small town" of Whittier, CA or the "small town" of Newton, MA?
|by Anonymous||reply 29||02/03/2013|
|by Anonymous||reply 30||02/03/2013|
I love how some people(clueless straight women?) thought the OP was simply referring to three celebrities being from the same area rather than three GAY celebrities.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||08/07/2014|
As the other thing that comes from Texas, I'm not surprised.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||08/07/2014|
R35 You're so slow. Simon paid these online mags to publish this "breaking news" about Pace FEATURING his boring ass stepford wife Matt Bomer.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||08/07/2014|
R36, except no one thought that.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||08/07/2014|
R38, I guess I am slow because I still have no clue what the fuck you're talking about.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||08/07/2014|
R39 is obviously being willfully ignorant. Or you're just very, very stupid.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||08/07/2014|
Matt was adorable, even in high school
|by Anonymous||reply 42||08/07/2014|
Um, it's Houston...the fourth largest city in the U.S.A.
It's like saying "OMG!! Wilson Cruz, Cynthia Nixon, Anthony Perkins, Harvey Fierstein and Lyndsey Lohan were all born in New York City. What gives??!!" OK I'm exaggerating because New York covers a lot more territory than Spring, Texas, but they were basically in a large metro area. Plus, Matt and Lee went to high school together, so the possibility exists that one paved the road for the other. Does someone know?
|by Anonymous||reply 43||08/07/2014|
R27 is correct. "Spring" covers vastly more area than the actual *town* of Spring. Basically it covers a major chunk of Houston's northern suburbs, which is where the majority of the region's middle- and upper-middle class now lives (in part because the schools are quite good). This is in contrast to its eastern and southern 'burbs, which are mostly lower-middle class (with the exception of Clear Lake, which still houses a significantly sized scientific community even though NASA has largely shuttered operations at the nearby Johnson Space Center).
That said, OP is mistaken about The Woodlands being a part of Spring; it's a separately incorporated city, and you'd address a USPS letter going there to "The Woodlands, TX".
|by Anonymous||reply 44||08/07/2014|
R40 You are just as clueless as Matt Bomer's stupid face.
|by Anonymous||reply 45||08/07/2014|
Does anyone think they were boning in high school?
|by Anonymous||reply 46||08/07/2014|
This thread is two years old. Who the fuck bumped it?
|by Anonymous||reply 47||08/07/2014|
"Almost 40,000 people live in Spring, TX."
The fashion observation that 'this Spring's line is really gay' seems to also apply to this town's lineage.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||08/07/2014|
Lee Pace's gay is not news anymore, majority of his fans are okay with it. He's not in the closet, he's not bearding. Will you stupid jealous bitches move on?
|by Anonymous||reply 49||08/07/2014|
Spring, Texas? Fucking amateur.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||08/07/2014|
R41, then quote these posts.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||08/07/2014|
There are no antiques in Texas, just cheap junk no one wants. Don't waste your time looking.
|by Anonymous||reply 52||08/07/2014|
Yes, he is in the closet. Until he says publicly, "my boyfriend" or "I'm gay" then he's in the closet. Being out to friends and family only isn't out if you're a celebrity, even a C-lister like Pace.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||08/07/2014|
Nah, R45, you're clearly the idiot. Your response to someone asking how a poster posting a picture of them in highschool is Bomer being a famewhore is that "Simon paid these online mags to publish this "breaking news" about Pace FEATURING his boring ass stepford wife Matt Bomer."
That makes zero sense. Again, that has nothing to do with the question that was asked.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||08/07/2014|
Lee Pace is hardly a C-lister. The Hobbit movies, his own AMC show, and he's the main villain in the biggest movie in the world right now.
But yes, he is a coward.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||08/07/2014|
R50 has a point.
|by Anonymous||reply 56||08/07/2014|
These posterd are stereotypical of the fags in most gay pride parades, mean and ugly.
|by Anonymous||reply 57||08/07/2014|
Most people still don't know who he is. He's C-list. The movie is a genre film, which means people were going to see it no matter who played the villain. The TV show might end up getting canceled. The Hobbit films are more genre fare. He's simply not in the public eye enough to be above C-list.
|by Anonymous||reply 58||08/07/2014|
[quote]Lee Pace continues to be in everything, joins sci-fi thriller Prisoner Of War
|by Anonymous||reply 59||08/07/2014|
I've known quite a few gay guys from Spring, TX. Considering the size of this berg, it's rather surprising. Since interstate 10 passes through Houston, it does provide a straight shot to Hollywood. Many of the people I met from Spring have personalities similar to those who have become famous.
|by Anonymous||reply 60||08/07/2014|
"He's [Pace] simply not in the public eye enough to be above C-list."
I'm no fangirl, but I'd call Pace a solid B-list. He's a not a movie star but he is a well-regarded character actor, with leads or co-leads in TV series, good supporting roles in major films, and leads in well-regarded indie films. If he keeps doing this well, he'll be working long after today's A-listers have been forgotten.

Just a few reason to see Texas as not all bad. I'm not a Texan, but I did go to school there. It makes me feel bad to read the horrible things people on DL say about Texas. I like the place more than a little bit.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||08/07/2014|
Houston area isn't that bad. Austin area isnt that bad. Those places are largely Democrats, and have huge gay populations.
|by Anonymous||reply 63||08/07/2014|
R31 Not sure if the photo on the right is still high school, but - no matter: You can see that Matt's chest is already developing nicely.
|by Anonymous||reply 64||08/07/2014|
Rock Hudson and Charlton Heston went to high school together.
|by Anonymous||reply 65||08/08/2014|
"Rock Hudson and Charlton Heston went to high school together."
They also went to school with Hugh O'Brian aka Wyatt Earp
|by Anonymous||reply 66||08/08/2014|
Ann-Margaret also went to the same high school as Hudson, Heston and O'Brien. Although she graduated years after them.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||08/08/2014|
[quote]Does anyone think they were boning in high school?
Bomer said he was still fucking gals back then. Maybe he still does.
|by Anonymous||reply 68||08/08/2014|
Spring is a pretty redneck part of Harris County. Houston is a big area and gays are all over and generally no one cares. It's far more tolerant than Dallas. We have a three-term lesbian mayor elected with a lot of Republican support.
