Eddie Izzard IS Grandpa Munster!

I can live with that.

Oh, great! Another ugly Brit taking American acting roles.

by Anonymousreply 103/20/2012

They need to give Lily Munster an insanely fabulous goth wardrobe.

by Anonymousreply 203/20/2012

Lee Pace for Herman.

When I first heard about the Munster re-do I thought it would be total crap and I wouldn't even bother with it.

I love Eddie Izzard, so now I'm not sure if it's going to be total crap, but I'll at least DVR a few shows to see if it's worth watching at all.

R1, around here as long as straight men are playing all the gay roles, your piddling complaint takes a back seat in the Addams family's town car.

by Anonymousreply 503/20/2012

Hate this guy, he's so insufferable and not funny, same with Russell Brand.

by Anonymousreply 603/20/2012

Now that Desperate Housewives is over and done, they can use the old original Munster house for the redo...I know I am going to get this wrong- but I think it was Gabby and Carlos' house???Anyone know for sure???It WAS one of theirs........

"Marilyn" has been cast.

The original Grandpa Munster elbowed me into oncoming traffic during the 1993 Toronto film fest. Asshole. Never liked his character to begin with, just hated him even more after that.

As for Izzard, he's an idiot for joining up with such a stupid project.

Remember when he was a transvestite?

Concept Art for The Munsters Reboot Mockingbird Lane

Source: Dread Central April 12, 2012

The new issue of Entertainment Weekly has a first look at concept art for NBC's reboot of "The Munsters," to be titled "Mockingbird Lane." Thanks to Dread Central, you can now check it out online.

The concept art gives you a first look at the spooky house, Eddie Izzard as "Grandpa" and two versions of the not-yet-cast Lily. Charity Wakefield was previously announced as Marilyn. The pilot was written by Bryan Fuller and will be directed by Bryan Singer in June.

by Anonymousreply 1104/12/2012

Julianne Moore as Lily. Seriously.

by Anonymousreply 1204/12/2012

The gay couple live in the Munster's house.

by Anonymousreply 1304/12/2012

Someone said Fred Weller as Herman.

I like it.

by Anonymousreply 1404/12/2012

Eddie has been cast!

by Anonymousreply 1505/23/2012

Marilyn is supposed to be an all American barbie doll type who stepped off the pages of Vogue. This girl is a wrong fit entirely.

But the whole remake is shit. If it gets past five episodes, I'll be amazed.

I'm looking forward to this.

Looking at the concept art posted by R11 (provided they follow through on that concept), it's very obvious that they based the design of the house on the Carson Mansion in Eureka, California. That mansion is a pretty famous example of Victorian Gothic architecture.

They've jumbled up and expanded on the elements of the original, but I'm surprised they would copy such a well known structure. Maybe the final product won't be such an obvious steal.

Here's one view of the the original mansion:

Jerry O'Connell has been cast as Herman!

Well it's better than going with the obvious, Brad Garrett.

by Anonymousreply 2106/05/2012

Has poor Jerry been a series that lasted more than a season? Besides Sliders that most have forgotten...
